What I don’t get is this…
Patrick Denise and Kim live in the B&B. Kim moves Vincent in. Denise lets Dean move in, then Shirley moves in and Tina moves in then goes. Then they move Buster in and now they are trying to get Jade there too.
Why do people just move in to other people’s houses then just move all their family in as well. It’s like when Dean had a flat, Stacey moved in with him, then she threw him out of his flat when they split up and moved Kat Alfie Mo and all the kids in to a flat which wasn’t even hers!!!
Only in Eastenders eh?!!!

lightgreenglass · 26/06/2015 14:46

Just caught up and need to rant!

Stacey is a cowbag - all this bollocks about Shabs being her best friend. Why oh why cant they just have Shabs and Kush as a happy supportive couple. Surely Stacey should have learnt by now not to go for taken men and calling Nancy self righteous - the cheek!

I am way too invested.

Nancy's acting was a bit weird in the last episode, walk into a place, stare intensely and then say a few lines...

SunnyBaudelaire · 26/06/2015 14:52

what annoys me in 'stenders and in other soaps is the complete lack of verisimilitude...

eg Shirley and Buster talking about 'custody' when if indeed they had been talking about that, they would use the correct term for it.

Aslo as if S and B would have a cat's chance in hell of residence anyway!

Shirley doorstepping that foster home....

Muslims hanging around in pubs drinking orange juice...

Visitors just turning up at random to see prisoners without a VO in sight...

RedCrayons · 26/06/2015 16:37

I've never in my life heard the word verisimilitude.

At this stage Shirley and Buster haven't seen a social worker yet, so would probably not know the correct teminology. Although, I'm sure any decent foster parent would have told Shirl to do one she she turned up and reported her. He wouldn't have been organising visits and carrying out his own inspections.

GilbertBlytheWouldGetIt · 26/06/2015 16:42

I do wish the scriptwriters would research things before launching into a plot line. A simple googling would solve so many of these factual errors. Why don't they do this?

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/06/2015 16:48

ditto red crayons

it would go through ss and foster agencies, the foster dad should be struck off for 1) accepting a bribe 2) organising this

yes maybe ss want her to go to a blood relative, but it would be a lot of red paper first !!!!

" i've never in my life heard the word verisimilitude. "

well that doesn't mean that 'stenders shouldn't have any surely?

southeastdweller · 26/06/2015 20:35

Did anyone else think it was odd that the Doctor initially assumed Shabnam's rib injuries were self-inflicted?

Mrsjayy · 26/06/2015 20:45

She wasnt very caring was she ? That foster carer was the dogiest looking man dd said he was like fagin with all his naughty children

CrapBag · 26/06/2015 22:08

I thought that about the doctor. Shabnam had clearly been beaten up and she couldn't have cared less. Just got pissed off because a frightened woman had been attacked and didn't want to report it.

That beating made for tough watching. I found it really difficult. Poor Shabnam. Was it racially motivated? I missed the beginning yesterday where she had her initial run in with them.

Fucking Stacey needs to piss off. Find a man of your own, just for once.

That foster carer is appalling and appears to not even particularly care about Jade (who seems to be a right brat).

I know Buster spoke to Dean but considering he was all for finding his daughter etc etc, he now doesn't give a stuff. Getting sick of all these u turns and rehashing of old story lines that have been done a million times. So many more things they could have done with Kush and Shabs, rather than just setting Shabs up for being ditched and pregnant.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 27/06/2015 07:17

Was it racially motivated?

Sort of, in the episode that aired Shabnam called them thugs earlier in the day because they broke into the community centre and ate / drank the food and drink which had been collected for the poor.

Originally they called her a "Muslim terrorist" during and after the attack but The BBC edited it out.

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/06/2015 08:21

Poor shabs :( haven't seen last nights yet but saw the beating and being recorded on her phone

She looks more devastated at her turban being ripped off and think In her religion she can't be seen without it by males?? Is that right

OP posts:
afreshstartplease · 27/06/2015 08:25

Yes I think the hair should be covered unless infront of male relatives. You will see her remove it at home around her dad and brother.

I think it's a hijab? Not a turban

bleedingheart · 27/06/2015 08:48

I wondered if it had been edited.
They didn't need to do the infidelity with Kush and Shabs, their partnership had loads of potential:
-marrying a widower and the issues that creates
-perhaps Shabs not wanting children or wanting to get Jade back but not wanting anymore
-the challenge of loving someone who is more devout than you and managing different approaches

Kush has wanted Shabs since he saw her and Stacy was around throughout, she helped set them up.
She does the hard done by thing all the time. It's as if the writers want us to warm to her and her complicated love life because she's so unlucky in love. We're supposed to feel sorry for her but despite finding her annoying, Shabs has my sympathy.
She tells her friend Stacy about her daughter (in clear emotional distress) and Stacy tells her fiancé Kush all about it and then gets off with him and tells him she's fallen for him.
I think they've misjudged this storyline. Why can't Kush be a nice guy? They do exist.

Also think Liam is being a bit po-faced about Carol taking the money, she can't support Cindy on fresh air, she works in a cafe-she's not Melinda Gates.
(Overinvested)

southeastdweller · 27/06/2015 09:12

I totally agree they didn't need to do the cheating story.

And yes to Liam being po-faced! Also, living with Bianca for so many years surely he'd know money doesn't fall from trees? I guess the writers have forgotten about that.

And now I've read that the two-faced tramp Stacey is going to be pregnant.

Mrsjayy · 27/06/2015 09:13

We are supposed to feel sorry for poor stac unlucky in love blah blah meh to the pair of them.

jollyjester · 27/06/2015 09:35

I'm confused. They said Shabnam is pregnant but I had assumed (obviously incorrectly and that even though she had done the deed previously) she wouldn't have slept with anyone until married.

Is the baby daddy Kush?

BreconBeBuggered · 27/06/2015 09:41

Poor old Carol. How she didn't simply snap at Liam that he could try feeding himself & Cindy on teenage piss and vinegar, see how he liked them apples, I will never know.

As for Stacey, I don't know who I want to slap most: her with her doe-eyed stares at Kush, or the witless script 'writers' who dreamed up this dross.

Kush I could always have kicked down the stairs. I'm not quite sure why.

Mrsjayy · 27/06/2015 09:54

Kush and shabnam have been having sex yes I dont think she was bothered about being married first

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/06/2015 12:31

Think she slept with him once and then felt guilty about it and next day thought kush has proposed

Then they broke up

And got back together again

Agree why always have to do a love triangle /affair Hmm

More i see the foster dad the crappier I think he is and sure he hasn't informed ss of their meeting

Yes Liam should realise that cindy can't live at theirs for free. She costs money to feed etc

OP posts:
LeBearPolar · 27/06/2015 13:48

I don't think SS have anything to do with it at the moment. The foster dad took a £200 bribe to give them Jade's hair so the DNA test could be done so I don't think he's a model of good foster parenting.

Am not sure what the point of Cindy is really.

Mrsjayy · 27/06/2015 13:53

So they are going through the foster carer not ss? Somrbody report thatfosterer

Madbengalmum · 27/06/2015 14:00

I have just read that apparently the most evil villain to end all villains is on the way?? The next bog plot line apparently.

RedandYellow24 · 27/06/2015 14:09

Only in eastenders can a 7y old walk out of the house when going to the loo and others get the blame! Like foster dad expecting them to wait outside the bathroom door? In real life the child would got right telling off.

Why is Shabnam not bothered fact she is carrier of CF this has to be big news surely? Noonesmentioned fact life limiting illness either, other than jimbo died.

How has no one spotted Cora living rough? How can she stay there? Has year round nursery and after school club stopped? She could stayed with max since he's in empty house surely.

AGnu · 27/06/2015 14:51

Shabnam did briefly question whether CF comes from the parents with a concerned look on her face & it got a bit awkward when Jade asked where Jimbo was. I guess they're going to string it out a bit & try to get us caring about Jade before educating us on some of the realities of living with CF.

YY, she slept with Kush once but that seems ages ago now. I'd have thought she'd have started showing at least. Either this will make Kush ditch Stacey or she'll lose the baby because of the beating & break up with Kush thinking she's doomed to never have healthy children. Is there such a thing as a Muslim equivalent of a nun?

Have Kush & Stacey had sex? I didn't think they had so presumably if she's pregnant too then it must be Martian's. I hate that they've done this to Kush's character. He started off as a bit of a "lad with a heart" type. They could've kept it like that without all this ridiculous Stacey stuff. They clearly didn't know what else to do with Stacey & wanted to give her a storyline.

Foster carer is winding me up. Why can no-one involved in the care system be portrayed as caring & good at their job?! Every time they show a social worker they're either evil or useless. Claudette seems like she'd be a good foster mum but they've not shown her in that role with a child.
