I know why Jane can't have kids, and I know she works hard for Ian & his family, doesn't mean she has a right to Beth!

I would go as far as to say that she wouldn't have married Ian had Bobby not done what he did...or if Cindy hadn't had Beth! She went from hating him to loving him in a flash & I await the fall out...

(I am aware it isn't real)

MissBattleaxe · 24/06/2015 14:15

I'm not saying she has a right to Beth, but I was disputing that she's always going on about having kids.

Fakebook · 24/06/2015 14:31

Hi everyone, haven't watched all of last week's yet or any this week but Shirley is pissing me off. Surely after the age of 50 you stop running away when things get tough?

I'm actually watching Buffy again during the evenings when kids are asleep, I'd forgotten how much I loved Spike Blush.

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/06/2015 14:36

If jane wanted kids that badly she would go the proper adoption route / surrogate etc

I do feel sorry for cindy. Her mum died in childbirth and her dad (Italian stallion) doesn't seem to want her / neither does granny in Cornwall?

She is no relation to Ian - his ex's daughter - tho obv she is half sister of 2 of his children - well now one

Stacey always goes for men she can't have !!!!!

Jane did adopt Bobby through the proper channels.

southeastdweller · 24/06/2015 18:41

Staying with Ian and Jane would be a better option for Beth than where she is now - with a father who Cindy knows isn't interested in Beth. Cindy wasn't bothered about this though as blackmailing Ian, who took her in when he didn't have to, potentially ruining his, Jane and Bobby's lives forever had to happen as long as Ian and Jane didn't get Beth Hmm.

Rewinding 18 months, Cindy was a brat when she first came into the square - stealing money from Phil and blackmailing her own brother. Yes it's awful her mum died in childbirth and her aunt and father want nothing to do with her but that's no reason to act like an ungrateful cow.

SoupDragon · 25/06/2015 19:50

Was that Cora??

SoupDragon · 25/06/2015 19:52

Yes it's awful her mum died in childbirth and her aunt and father want nothing to do with her but that's no reason to act like an ungrateful cow.

I think that growing up knowing that no one wants you is likely to have been very damaging. Where is she meant to have learnt kindness from?

southeastdweller · 25/06/2015 19:58

She grew up with her aunt and grandmother. For 14 or 15 years. Clearly they wanted her some of that time at least. Until she got difficult.

Mrsjayy · 25/06/2015 20:05

Yeah that was cora think she has been sleeping in the community centre Nancy mentioned the old lady cigarette ends. Urgh kush and stacy just stop it ! Im not sure where this Buster/Dean story is going ? I loved the mosque lady she is v funny. Poor shabs

southeastdweller · 25/06/2015 20:09

And on the subject of kindness, Ian was very kind when he gave Cindy a place to stay.

SoupDragon · 25/06/2015 20:49

I disagree completely. I certainly don't think anyone clearly wanted her. I get the impression that they couldn't wait to get rid of her.

Ian has been a total wanker. As soon as anything wasn't sunny, he threw the fact that he'd taken her in despite not being family in her face. He hasn't been kind at all. Being kind doesn't come with strings attached and it doesn't mean you get to throw it in someone's face and keep reminding them how grateful they should be.

How kind was it to ignore all the signs she was struggling?

DragonWithAGirlTattoo · 25/06/2015 21:12

oh my god!! Cindy... what a complete brat! Cant stand her!

Love Bushra, she seems to be getting a big part which is great!

southeastdweller · 25/06/2015 21:13

I think throwing a lifeline to your estranged late wife's daughter constitutes kindness. He also stood by her when she got pregnant and helped deliver Beth.

Isn't he horrible? Hmm

DragonWithAGirlTattoo · 25/06/2015 21:23

Nice, Kush is off snogging Stacy, how about just for fucking once! they dont make a bloke about to get married have an affair!

DragonWithAGirlTattoo · 25/06/2015 21:26

Do you think they could bring Nick Holland (Cindy Jrs dad) into the square?

GilbertBlytheWouldGetIt · 25/06/2015 21:29

Ron Jeremy I've been calling him that at home!

Pretty sure the Buster/Dean storyline has changed. I think he was suspicious that Dean was guilty of the rape. But the writers seem to have parked that plot line to focus on the Jade story.

RedCrayons · 25/06/2015 21:59

Buster doesn't believe Dean at all. I think Shirley had her doubts, but they seemed to have parked that idea. He's only going along with it to keep Shirley happy.

Kush is a total sleaze. And Stacey's not much better. even if your best mates bloke was David Gandy, the fact that he's trying it on behind her back would kill it stone dead.

Mrsjayy · 26/06/2015 07:40

Me and dd were nooooing at the kissing as i keep saying there is no need. Buster is onto Dean but he doesnt want to say it out loud

LeBearPolar · 26/06/2015 08:49

After Dean's breakdown in Blades where he said "IF I need to be punished for something..." Buster really started to realise that the rape accusation is true. We saw him look at Mick and Linda's window as he was walking across the square straight after that with a really thoughtful look. And he then backed off from encouraging Dean to connect with Jade. He definitely knows.

It was Shirley where they changed direction - she began to believe that Dean was guilty, then they renewed Matt Di Angelo's contract and changed Shirley's thinking to suit that!

I do think it could be interesting to make Dean have a proper breakdown and acknowledge what he did. They keep bringing him close to it and then backing off. I thought his interaction with Roxy was well done in relation to that.

SheHasAWildHeart · 26/06/2015 09:20

Re the Jade situation. Okay I don't know how the foster care system works but would they really hand a child over as Shirley seems to think just to save money? Dean and Buster have both been in prison haven't they?

SheHasAWildHeart · 26/06/2015 09:29

I know that people find Shabnam irritating (and so do I to a certain extent) but when I was growing up you'd never see a girl in headscarf on telly. And I think that the issues that she 'fights' with haven't been shown in this way before. For example, she decided to go to Pakistan and become more religious, this wasn't something forced upon her by her parents. Her 'shame' about Roya/Jade is coming from within, neither her father nor her brother have wanted to 'disown' her because of it or threatened to have nothing to do with her. Even when Dean burst in on the engagement and embarrassed them in front of their friends and family. The struggles she has between who she is and who she thinks she should be are interesting. As a young Muslim I'd have loved seeing someone like her on telly when I was growing up.

Mrsjayy · 26/06/2015 10:36

You rarely see "normal" women on tv with their head covered and I think because shabnam chose to follow her religion strictly (is that the right word) where her family are moderate is a great thing to show yes she is a moany face but her faith important to her.

RedCrayons · 26/06/2015 10:55

I think they could have plenty of good story lines involving Shabnam and Kush without the lame love triangle. It's like they can't think of anything else to do with Stacey except have her falling in love with taken men. Surely she's learnt her lesson now.

I can almost believe that Stacey could become a bit infatuated with him, she's lonely after Kat and Alfie left. Mo's gone missing. He pays her a bit of attention. But it makes no sense that he would pursue Shabnam so relentlessly then all of a sudden he can't resist Stacey.

And Jade. I know nothing about fostering but how would Shirley and Buster possibly be given custody? Buster was in prison until quite recently, is he still on licence? I know Dean is working, but he has also been in prison for GBH. They all live in a B&B. Shirley abandoned her own children including her son with CF. I have my doubts that even if Shabnam said she wanted her back she'd get full custody!

Saw in the paper Today Dean Gaffney is coming back.

Mrsjayy · 26/06/2015 11:17

Dean gaffney nooo do you think he is some yoga guru now is he still meant to be in India ? There is no way ss would give buster and shirley visitation after a week and they woupd be questioning the dodgy dna testing its just daft
