Looking forward to Monfils/Federer

Mon dieu. Sad

JuanPotatoTwo · 31/05/2015 15:27

There must be some way they can regulate the calls better. Can't they tweak Hawkeye somehow

This rain doesn't look promising does it?

Raahh · 31/05/2015 15:28

think the clay doesn't leave as precise a mark, maybe it skids, whereas on the other surfaces the ball wouldbounce more cleanly? and maybe Hawkeye would when fine an average spread of that ark, which may not be accurate. or I am talking rubbish, as usual. Grin Grin Grin

Look at all the umbrellas.

They're a wimpy lot, aren't they ?

Don't see umbrellas like that at Wimby.

We are happy to sit & get wet. Grin

JuanPotatoTwo · 31/05/2015 15:29

Those parisienne (is that right?) umbrellas don't look any more stylish than British ones I am very prejudiced against umbrellas following a harrowing incident in my teens involving an umbrella, myself and a young man I was keen to impress.

Raahh · 31/05/2015 15:30

bloody rain. Sad I don't think Berdy is happy. Jo Willy looks cold.

Drat, Nishikori won first set.

MrsVamos · 31/05/2015 15:31

That's the thing Sam said, Raahh. She said on clay the ball leaves a very clear mark, so it could be in, but hawk-eye would measure it out, & vice versa because of the discrepancy in measurement. Hmm

It sounds like it could, and probably should be tweaked, Juan.

DramaAlpaca · 31/05/2015 15:32

Yes Juan he was living away in term time but came home most weekends. It was good as he got the independence he needed during the week, but could easily get home for a bit of support when he wanted to as it's only about an hour's bus ride away.

Raahh · 31/05/2015 15:32

Gabby needs to go in, dry off, and come back fighting.

I doubt we will see Fed today. Sad. This is so frustrating.

I love Fabrice: "Now both players wear ze jackeet" :)

MrsVamos · 31/05/2015 15:33

Rats. Want Nishikori out.

Play goes on !

ALLEZ JO !

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 31/05/2015 15:33

Why on earth is it SO hard for them to decide whether to suspend play or not?

I mean I know clay sucks up a lot of moisture and doesn't get as slippery as grass say, but to be so undecided all the time.....

Peut etre c'est parce-que ils sont tous francais!!!

MrsVamos · 31/05/2015 15:36

Might get put on another court, Raahh ?

I don't want Rafa held up tomorrow. Sad

Although John Inverdale intimated earlier that Andy's match would be a late one tomorrow.

Which probably means Rafa will be second match on PC or SL ?

Raahh · 31/05/2015 15:37

Well, they don't rush things, the French. Especially lunch. Grin

Hearts

Your last sentence.

Wha' ? Confused

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 31/05/2015 15:37

Would hawk eye have helped in this case anyway? I thought part of the issue was the timing of the call, as well as the fact that it was incorrect.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 31/05/2015 15:38

That is very true Raahh. Tellement vrais!

MrsVamos · 31/05/2015 15:38

Raahh Grin

Goes on for days, doesn't it ?

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 31/05/2015 15:39

Oh. Sorry.

"Maybe it is because they are all French"

Grin
Raahh · 31/05/2015 15:40

for once I will be happy to see Rafa in early. I know the big players (and those who bought tickets to see them) don't like moving matches to lesser courts, but if it gets them played, it's got to be good.

Wet weather favours Djok, Rafa likes it hot. Wednesday looks a bit changeable.

OP posts:
MrsVamos · 31/05/2015 15:40

Probably not, Rafa.

The call was certainly a late one.

I think umpires should ignore late calls. You don't see it, or a player doesn't, tough shit.

MrsVamos · 31/05/2015 15:43

Thank you muchly, Hearts. Grin

Supposed to be getting hotter, Raahh.

They said this morning they reckon next Sunday could be in the 90's.

Its all slowly coming together. Wink

Raahh · 31/05/2015 15:43

Rafa , that was the problem here, yes. There have been some very Kate calls. But they do need to look at the way they deal with over rules.

OP posts:
Raahh · 31/05/2015 15:44

who the hell is Kate??

I am useless on this phone!
