Looking forward to Monfils/Federer

Got crown fixed & no tooth pain but lots of £££ pain.

Going back a few posts I have actually met *El Pesky (aka Juan) & she has a lovely figure & looks amazing.

Building works are carrying on - just so enjoying the w/e with none of them here, which is being a bit old & grumpy as they are all lovely (but all old & not fit) & are doing a great job. When they leave the next lot arrive 2 weeks after & they are fit so will probably feel less grumpy about having house invaded!

I rarely start threads but will post on others & hope I am just 'me' on any thread I post on. Must admit that there are many threads I don't post on as all Iwant to say is either "Fuck off" or "Get real". Neither of which is helpful.

Off to bed - really looking forward to the Fed/Monfils match tomorrow.

DramaAlpaca · 30/05/2015 23:19

Yes, the Fed/Monfils match should be fun.

Mama1980 · 31/05/2015 07:43

Just place marking, to catch up later.

GrouchyKiwi · 31/05/2015 09:58

Morning.

Edinburgh Marathon is in today. We are basically trapped in our house as it goes past us in both directions and the finish line is very close. Can hear their horrible music from inside my house. [grump smiley]

Will just have to sit watching tennis all day.

Also looking forward to the Federer-Monfils match.

Just saw Azarenka's press conference. Good on her for being so blunt.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 31/05/2015 10:13

Morning everyone. Flowers and hugs to MrsV and Juan. And anyone else who might need them.

Am enjoying my last 10 minutes of actually being able to see the tennis. Could possibly have done with a more exciting match than this one though.

Agree about Azarenka's press conference.

magimedi · 31/05/2015 10:23

It's pouring with rain here (near Eastbourne) & I hope the rain doesn't hit Paris.

What did Azarenka say?

Raahh · 31/05/2015 10:44

Morning everyone!

I had to go and deal with DD2 last night, who woke up convinced Olaf was trying to eat her. She doesn't usually have nightmares. I am now trying to find ds's uniform, which I know I washed, but both his jumpers seem to have vanished. Dh is back at work tomorrow, too.

I can't believe it is raining thereSad. It is here. (South Manchester, pretty normalGrin) It has looked quite ominous a couple of times at RG, I think they have been lucky to avoid rain.

I hope it stops raining, as the girls are still off, and for various reasons we aren't letting ds get the bus to school at the moment. He has been going on his bike, or I end up taking him. I don't fancy getting everybody up for 7am, just to take him to school. Won't go down well with the dds either.

Need to find Azaranka's press conference. If she was saying the bias against her was palpable, then I agree Grin

Pmsl @ the Dunblaine duck race. They have just re-shown Murray's interview with Inverdale- and showed the winner of the race Grin.

Lots of plastic ducksGrin

Very wet and windy at RG. I'm not very hopeful all matches will get played today.

They are sweeping the courts- hurrah. Don't they cover them? There seems to be a lot of water still if they do!

OP posts:
Raahh · 31/05/2015 12:54

Watching Azarenka, and I do agree with her. There were a couple of dubious calls.

I think Serena may be over egging their friendshipGrin

OP posts:
GrouchyKiwi · 31/05/2015 12:54

They don't cover them, apparently. Clay mustn't need it.

I hope play starts again soon.

Raahh · 31/05/2015 12:56

I think the crap calls are far more of an issue than the 20 second rule, which they seem so obsessed about.

OP posts:
Raahh · 31/05/2015 12:56

it seemed very wet. Must make the court a very different surface to play on.

magimedi · 31/05/2015 13:15

Chatrier & Lenglen were both covered when I took a look at TV to see what was happening about an hour ago. Flat canvas covers.

Just looked & play is now resuming.

Looking at the rainfall radar I am hopeful that there shouldn't be much more rain in Paris.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 31/05/2015 13:22

Glad play is resuming.

I totally put my foot in it yesterday - I texted my DBro about Murray going through to the next round and DBro (who lives in Vancouver) had recorded all the matches and avoided ALL types of sports & RG news and was planning to watch tennis all weekend and I just gave him the most massive spoiler Blush Shock

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 31/05/2015 13:27

Question from DD1:

Why is Wimby not called The British Open?

  • French Open (RG obv)
  • Australian Open
  • US Open
  • Wimbledon

Although Wimbledon is not the official name is it? It's All England something-or-another. What is the name of the actual tournament?

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 31/05/2015 13:31

Does anyone know what time the Fed/Monfils match will be on? I guess it depends on the weather too. Two matches to play before that one... we are watching a movie now but don't want to miss Federer.

Raahh · 31/05/2015 13:38

I think it is the championships , Wimbledon. The All England club is just where it is held. I'm not sure why it has never been called an Open. Might be because it is the oldest? Tradition? The open era had only been in place since 1968.

I don't know is my more concise answerGrin

OP posts:
magimedi · 31/05/2015 13:38

Apparently the French now want it to be called Roland Garros rather than the French Open.

Asking for the time of play is a bit like how long is a piece of string, in the nicest possible way, Hearts.

Assuming the current womens' match is over in about 40 mins, then allow 20 mins or so before Tsonga Berdych come on & then who knows? Personally, I think Berdych will win in 3 sets so I reckon (& am hoping) that Fed will be on sometime between 5 & 6.

But I could be totally wrong - you're going to have to channel hop!!

Raahh · 31/05/2015 13:42

Hearts he is 3rd on, so hard to put a time on it.

the Cornet match may yet go the distance, and then it is the Tsonga/ berdych, which may be long.

the weather is currently saying havoc with serves. its very, very windy.

OP posts:
Raahh · 31/05/2015 14:04

Cornet staging a fight back.

OP posts:
Raahh · 31/05/2015 14:04

it is looking reminiscent of the Williams match..

OP posts:
Raahh · 31/05/2015 14:05

and another bad call.

OP posts:
Raahh · 31/05/2015 14:07

OP posts:
Raahh · 31/05/2015 14:10

OP posts:
Raahh · 31/05/2015 14:15
