I'm ready for Bethany to bugger off back to Italy now.

If she could take Les Dennis, Michelle, Tracey-Luv, Jazz-Hands, Chesney, Sinead, the chicken man and his entire family, and Rita I would be very grateful.

Max is played by a great little actor. The least wooden of the lot!

AgathaChristie01 · 19/05/2015 00:19

Yes, it's Todd, it seems he just doesn't want anyone to be happy, so he is messaging Eileen as a guy from Dubai. Whatever happened to Todd of yesteryear, that he became such a twisted individual, we probably will never know.

TheLastPickleInTheJar · 19/05/2015 05:42

It's because he moved away from Wetherfield to live in 'That London' isn't it Agatha? Come to think of it, wasn't he a lawyer? Totally unrealistic that people leave high paying careers and then are happy to work in shops or behind bars on what appear to be zero hour contracts!

It will suit the show if Miley goes to live with her dad and his family. Its one less baby to weave onto stortlines then. There can be a week of angst over it then Anna & co can carry on with their lives never mentioning her again.

Until she turns up at 15 looking like a 25 year old!

DocHollywood · 19/05/2015 06:41

Thankfully I've never been in a situation like David v Callum but is it likely that all of David's past would be a brought up but Callum's current drug dealing ignored?

AgathaChristie01 · 19/05/2015 08:47

That must be it TheLastPickle Grin.

Yes, he was, but now he is content to be bossed around by Tracy in that daft looking shop. Makes sense...in soapland.

AgathaChristie01 · 19/05/2015 08:50

The David / Callum thing is just too annoying. Why would nothing be said about Callum and his drug dealing. Did David not even say it to his own solicitor? Angry

ClaudiaNaughton · 19/05/2015 09:01

Was Todd ever a lawyer? I know he went to Oxford. Surely he'd be getting his ear bent by the many characters in dire need of legal advice. I reckon he dropped out.

SymphonyofShadows · 19/05/2015 09:12

I don't think I watched it when Todd went to uni. I can't believe he went to Oxford! That really is stretching credibility

ProfYaffle · 19/05/2015 09:13

I have a vague memory that Todd dropped out or got sacked from his job in London. Didn't he come back with his tail between his legs because he didn't have the glittering life he'd pretended to have?

shipinabottle · 19/05/2015 09:14

So if it is Todd messaging Eileen it will be revenge for when her and Jason disowned him when he did that dodgy stuff with Tony and Tyrone fell through the loft.
He already punished Jason by sabotaging his relationship with Eva.

It doesn't make sense though why he would have loyalty towards Julie though against Mary as he quite happy to screw his family over.

ProfYaffle · 19/05/2015 09:15

Just checked Corriepedia, Todd had a job as a law clerk in London but got sacked. Not sure what a law clerk is tbh.

SymphonyofShadows · 19/05/2015 09:16

I'm not sure he really has any loyalty to anyone, I think he just saw an opportunity to make trouble for Mary. I remember him coming back skint after getting the sack and his BF throwing him out.

shipinabottle · 19/05/2015 09:17

I'd love to see Mary click that Todd is nasty and take him on.

SymphonyofShadows · 19/05/2015 09:19

Michelle was as orange as her top last night

ProfYaffle · 19/05/2015 09:40

Dd1 said that too symphony! Grin

differentnameforthis · 19/05/2015 10:32

TheLastPickleInTheJar I don't think he ever made it as a lawyer..did he? He was a junior or something & lied about being a lawyer.

SymphonyofShadows · 19/05/2015 11:09

I think he was supposed to be an articled clerk, which is like an apprentice lawyer

TheLastPickleInTheJar · 19/05/2015 11:41

That figures then. He doesnt come acrossnas a believable lawyer!

AgathaChristie01 · 19/05/2015 12:22

He is a ridiculous character now, IMO. Messaging his own mother, spitefully reporting Mary and her (magic) motor home, (or whatever it is), because she refused him credit, in the shop.
In common with quite a few other characters, he has been made almost panto like, rather than in any way believable.

Housemum · 19/05/2015 19:05

Struggling to feel the love for any character at the moment. The acting is so wooden, they'll all go up like torches if the flats catch fire...

AgathaChristie01 · 19/05/2015 19:08

Yes, especially some of the newer additions. Grin
I like when some of the 'oldies' are given a scene now. I enjoyed Roy being in the 'curry club'. He gave a bit of credence, I thought to the whole thing, especially Gary and Luke who are a bit one- dimensional.

southeastdweller · 19/05/2015 19:36

It's a big week next week for the show and one I'm really looking forward to - the fire at Victoria Court happens (hopefully at least one piece of deadwood character will be burnt to cinders - I'm predicting Kal), the Jack/Jenny story escalates, and Steve and Michelle get married (hopefully). It's also on every weekday.

And because of Britain's Got Talent, Corrie is on at 9pm next week.

NewNameForMarch · 19/05/2015 19:41

SymphonyofShadows - why would Todd going to Oxford stretch credibility? Have I missed something.

SymphonyofShadows · 19/05/2015 19:44

Because he doesn't seem exceptionally bright, devious yes. That said, I didn't watch at the time so I don't know the circumstances.

ClaudiaNaughton · 19/05/2015 19:48

I remember Eileen being very proud of him.
