orphan I'd watch those scatter cushions, they are going to be your undoing!!

Just reread my last post I meant I hope richteas son enjoyed the Marathon - as the Prime minister would say it was brain fade!!

Richtea19 · 26/04/2015 19:07

orphan I thought I spotted a comfy arm chair amongst the crowds, did you knock out Jenson Button with your scatter cushions whilst chasing Cracknell!

Last Poldark tonight, we will have to console woof next week. Did spot there's a new drama starting next Sunday. When I saw the trailer for it, I immediatley thought of rhubarb as it looks just like it was set in her Another Time Another Place FF. We talked about so sending scripts to the writers room, If the timescales where different, I would think they pinched rhubarbs ideas!!!!

Nickel45 · 26/04/2015 19:14

CJ is taking his time on the train, are you sure he got on and wasn't abducted BK? I'll get the kids to bed and go out looking for him.

wycombe, have to say I'm fairly new to the Blues, but live nearby (and DS gets free tickets when he does holiday courses!) so we now support our local team (DH is an ardent Chelsea fan, but as they are unlikely to ever meet in the league he can cope with supporting Wycombe too ... apparently! Good of him!). You didn't miss much yesterday, although some of them have very muscular thighs! ... i have to confess, though, to divided loyalties with Southend, where i come from, so a bit of a dilemma yesterday. Now I'm hoping for one to get through automatically and one in the playoff final at Wembley, so we can go! (Hope you are still talking to me after that confession!!)

So, yes, can definitely lend CJ out to you for a brief visit:) when would you like him?

BK28 · 26/04/2015 19:38

Oh yes he got on all right, it was quite busy today but as usual I am right behind him... just like him to think that he has some free will and all that... he will be with you just after the little people are down, just be ready!!! Don't panic... he likes a calm and willing soldier etc!!!

orphan · 26/04/2015 19:41

Yes richtea I like to take some credit for Cracknell's fast time; he can certainly put on a spurt when pursued by an ardent armchair. Button lost a few seconds when he was unfortunately hit by one of my discarded scatter cushions.

Slightly disappointed the tv coverage didn't show the sneaky sit down on me that Paula Radcliffe had.

Ilovelblue · 26/04/2015 19:56

Well I am in a real strop tonight. My neighbour and I have an agreement to look after each other's cats if one of us goes on holiday. I was away in Amsterdam as you know and she's just come back from a few days in the Cotswolds. She always goes over the top with holiday presents and spends a lot but it's usually stuff I don't like or use. She's known me over 20 years so you'd think she'd know by now what I would want or like. The last time she went away, she bought me two M&S vests, size 12. Now I haven't been a 12 for years (am 14) and don't wear a vest! So what was it today? The most sh*te little sort of bird table thing in the shape of a face to fix to a fence. She said "You will love it or hate it" but how could I tell her I hated it!!!! What's more I am going to have to put the sodding thing up for her to see as well! When I went to Amsterdam, I bought her some shower gel she likes from a particular shop there and some Dutch coffee - both useful and I know she likes them. Am I being ungrateful over her crap present?

Ilovelblue · 26/04/2015 20:04

Nickel you are being very generous loaning CJ out for a short while. Most people want to hang on to him for longer! Has he turned up now? Do you have plans or are you going to see what he suggests?

Wycombe we can arrange for you to have him for a longer spell once you've had your "taster session" if you want! Just let me know. We have some gaps after mid-May I seem to think.

Great pic Richtea. You must be so proud!

When I mentioned the Poldark v OG stuff, I had totally forgotten that OG had gone up against Downton! Ooops. Yes, that was definitely a mistake.

Whajeb please don't say you are going for decompression.....?

Richtea19 · 26/04/2015 20:10

ilove you made me giggle! I have an aunty that alway buys crap presents! These daysthere is no need, if in doubt go for a candle or shower gel, nothing offensive about them. When My aunt comes over I have to get out the dodgy looking figurine and glass paper weight Blush

Ilovelblue · 26/04/2015 20:15

Last year for my birthday she gave me some tiny canisters of tea bags from Joules. An OK sort of present (except she knows I don't like Earl Grey tea) but (a) I was with her when she bought it in the post-Christmas sale at half price and (b) the best before date was two days before my birthday!!

Watching episode 4 of OG whilst supposedly putting some things on eBay but keep flicking onto here instead!

orphan · 26/04/2015 20:25

Heehee I feel your pain ilove. My sister still doesn't seem to recognise my style or likes and dislikes. Her presents cost her a bomb but unfortunately usually end up in the local charity shop. I wonder if some people just buy what they like themselves. Could the bird table suffer a tragic accident?

orphan · 26/04/2015 20:26

Are you putting all her gifts to you on eBay?!

Onlygirljen · 26/04/2015 20:30

orphan you beat me to it there - was just about to check eBay for dodgy bird tables Grin

Ilovelblue · 26/04/2015 20:32

orphan I have decided I will have to leave it up for the summer but then as soon as the first frosts come in autumn, it will suffer from frostbite and crack up.

I wish I could put her crap presents on eBay but we do occasionally come across a bargain at a car boot sale and sell it jointly, so we know each other's eBay IDs etc. I have a massive Laura Ashley scarf she bought me. Well, she said it's a scarf but I'm almost certain it's a cotton sarong. It's hideous and far, far too much material in it to be a scarf but she bought it because I like Laura Ashley clothes. It's too good just to shove in a charity shop so one of my colleagues is going to sell it for me!

Onlygirljen · 26/04/2015 20:33

ilove my dad is the exact same. He claims to know my tastes really well, but has bought me some spectacularly bad things over the years, none of which ever gets used. He does seem to think he's getting it right though, so don't have the heart to set him straight!

This is how hideous it is. There are two eyes to go above the moustache too.

Onlygirljen · 26/04/2015 20:47

Ooh painted, my favourite city in the whole wide world! I love NYC - glad you have set a CJ and MD story there!

ilove I have no words for how creepy that looks....Shock

Ilovelblue · 26/04/2015 20:48

It is creepy, isn't it? But I have to put it on show for a while, don't I?

Painted I love it, I love it, I just love it!!

Richtea19 · 26/04/2015 20:50

Truly hideous ilove it looks like the big Cheshire cat smile from Alice In Wonderland, it needs to fall off the wall..from a height.

Yay, a NY themed story. I'm currently plotting a trip towards the end of the year!

orphan · 26/04/2015 20:51

Ok ilove I think she must be playing a little game with you: just how hideous does something have to be before ilove admits she hates it.

moojangles · 26/04/2015 20:52

Delurking...
ilove, I reckon you live next door to my MIL
Huge congratulations to mummyr on the new job
Amazing fanfics and lunacy on here getting me through silly season at work, the joys of final coursework deadlines
Shrimpers all the way nickel
As for AT, still not feeling the love
And to paraphrase BS42...off I lurk

BK28 · 26/04/2015 20:54

ilove perhaps the nail that holds it up might fail prior to the autumn frosts - they are predicting some colder weather soon!!

I have a SIL whose gift ideas are quite tortuous - bought her 6 year old nephew indoor bowls!! Rest my case!!

Ilovelblue · 26/04/2015 20:57

mooj I was wondering this afternoon where you had disappeared off to! I had been thinking about the Swan at Swinbrook and remembered you saying you worked near there.

It is possible once it is attached to the fence that the cats may dislodge it when they jump up there to pursue the birds........ that would happen long before the frosts.

ice that video clip does not raise my blood pressure in the slightest. Like mooj has just said, I don't feel the love. CJ all the way for me (and only 10 days till I have him all to myself again going up to Edinburgh).

orphan · 26/04/2015 21:07

Has AT said how he feels about all the salivating over his abs?
