Anyone watching Casualty?

I still have this on the Sky+ box, unwatched - and the more I read about the episode, the less tempted I feel to watch it. Would I really miss out if I skipped it?

One thing, though - I used to be an operating theatre nurse, and I can imagine situations in which it would be OK to go straight in without scrubbing up - if the situtation was sufficiently urgent that you couldn't take even 5 minutes to scrub, you could just throw on gown and gloves, and get in there. Better to have to deal with an infection in a live patient, than lose the patient because you don't get there fast enough.

Mind you - I trained in the days when we took trays of instruments off the shelf of a cupboard and sterilised them ourselves, in a steam autoclave - and I was told that, if a really urgent case came in, and there wasn't time to run the autoclave (15 or 20 minutes, iirc), we should just take the instruments straight off the shelf and use them unsterilised - same principle applying.

Yeah... but she didn't even put a gown or gloves on iirc!

I wonder if we could Rita to move to Coronation Street to live. By the law of averages shed be bumped off pretty quickly. or is Casualty due a disaster soon that might see her demise

I've watched Casualty since the very first episode but I'm so bored with it just now.

I don't give a stuff about Zoe and Whatshisname, and I can't stand Dylan.

Time to bring back horrible, gory things happening to people. Old style Casualty where you never knew who was going to get it.

I love Dylan, however.

Dylan is one of my favourite characters.

I'm seriously pissed off that Connie has turned up apparently all ready to take over again. She admitted to stealing drugs, FFS!

She did put on gloves, I think - but it's that absolute emergency situation, Lottie - where even taking the time to put on a gown, would mean the patient bleeding to death.

I was a bit about Connie just strolling back into her job - I wanted to see Dylan being clinical lead for longer!

Why did she have to come back? It was much better without her. And what's with all the hair tossing and looking round to make sure someone has seen her on her bike? talk about vain!

I was getting a bit bored with it but back watching again because Dylan is awesome!

This thread reminds me of how much I miss ER.

Charlie pronounces his son's name weirdly. When I say 'Louis' there is a 'w' sound in there. Charlie sort of goes Looy-ee.

Looyee is a WAYYY worse actor than Charlie. Charlie is an institution.

Charlie is so much more than an institution! Can you imagine what his redundancy payout would be if they let him go! I have a signed postcard from the BBC of Charlie somewhere from the first series and decided I was going to marry him one day. Worries me now as he is a grandad!

That chap (DNR) used to be Lulu's 'toyboy'. Then he was on Hollyoaks.

I don't get this episode either.

I've actually only been watching it the last year or so and never seen anything like this! Shan't be watching much longer if it carries on though! Terrible!
