I know there's a few of you out there...

YY, if Camp Jack converted Jacob that would wipe the smile off Connie's supercilious face!

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/01/2016 18:52

At last. Dixie was right

T&T mum was abusing her partners daughter

Wonder if Dixie will get with her now

Moln · 16/01/2016 18:59

I hope so. I really like the character of Dixie; it'd be nice to have her happy again.

Veritat · 31/01/2016 16:16

Oh, FFS, not another character just disappearing overnight on a whim without giving in her notice, giving notice on her flat, packing it up ... Holby City's employment practices are just bizarre. Though maybe that accounts for the fact that Ethan found it entirely credible that, within a week, they had gone through the standard NHS recruitment process of advertising, waiting for applications, shortlisting, interviewing, checking references and sending out a contract for his alleged replacement.

And how come neither Ethan's brother nor any of the other doctors apart from Lily turned up at his supposed leaving do?

Still, it was nice to see Uncle Bob Cryer off the The Bill again.

Optimist1 · 31/01/2016 16:42

Agree, Veritat - it's beyond belief that the comings and goings can be effected so easily! I can only imagine that Cal wasn't on shift when Ethan worked his "last" one, which is why he wasn't at the leaving do.

I know I'm always banging on about Connie, but she was getting on my nerves again last night with all that simpering and sighing over Jacob.

Veritat · 31/01/2016 21:30

Oh, definitely, Jacob is just annoying, nothing more or less.

Another thing I wondered about with Ethan is that he meekly accepted being asked to leave that day without checking that he would still be paid for his entire notice period.

sweetkitty · 31/01/2016 22:10

Can went have Connie showing what a fantastic doctor she is like performing open heart surgery in the car park or something (wasn't she a top notch heart surgeon) rather than simpering about after Jacob.

CandOdad · 05/03/2016 21:42

So someone you work with dies in a lift, possibly because of you, but your still left to work your shift?

Snazarooney · 12/03/2016 22:31

So sad tonight. I knew Ethan was lying to Emily. Well done and poignant.

Pixel · 13/03/2016 23:07

I'm really starting to hate Cal. He's whiny, selfish and unreasonable, and makes me shout at the telly.
DD just asked my why I bother watching when it's an 'endless series of frustrations' Hmm. Must admit I'm starting to wonder myself!

TheDrsDocMartens · 14/03/2016 07:31

My programmes are all full of characters I don't like at the moment.

Optimist1 · 14/03/2016 07:47

Casualty is really poor at the moment. It only seems five minutes since we had a Let's Borrow an Ambulance to Take a Dying Person to the Seaside episode can't remember who it was and frankly don't care. And yet another example of someone deciding to leave, submitting their resignation and walking off into the sunset within a couple of hours.

TheDrsDocMartens · 15/03/2016 13:59

Yes I thought it seemed familiar.

Exactly my thoughts while watching it.

That too. I'm longing for someone to decide they want to leave for a 'normal' reason - eg promotion, family relocation etc - rather than angsty woe, then hand in and work out their notice. I genuinely don't understand why this would be so bad for the storyline. OK, have the occasional person leaving suddenly, and that way it's dramatic, but it's just silly to have several per season. [hopes the programme-makers will find a way to write Lofty back in because I luffs him]

Much as I hate the character Cal, I do think he's been very well acted, especially the last few episodes.

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/03/2016 12:45

Do feel sorry for lofty - not sure why nurse was still holding patient - yes lofty should have checked before zapping - but they all know to stand 'clear'

morningtoncrescent62 · 17/03/2016 20:17

There was also the matter of the nurse being drugged up which presumably was why she died from the electric shock - to be uncovered? Or just quietly dropped, like Lily's bullying of that doctor whose name I've already forgotten.

TheDrsDocMartens · 17/03/2016 21:40

Maybe they've swapped writers with 'Doctors' they're forever dropping stories part way and have been trying to be more serious lately( which doesn't work!)

AugustaFinkNottle · 02/04/2016 22:47

How disappointing. A golden opportunity to get rid of TV's two most irritating characters, Connie and Jacob, and they fluffed it.

RJnomore1 · 02/04/2016 22:50

They can take Jacob but Connie is my favourite person on TV ever. I've just had my hair cut like hers Blush

Snazarooney · 02/04/2016 22:51

I love Connie!

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/04/2016 10:34

Slightly behind as usual. Think got 3 to watch

AugustaFinkNottle · 03/04/2016 10:38

It was so bloody stupid that they stayed in the building arguing when everyone else had the sense to get out as fast as they could. I almost felt they were asking for it when everything fell on top of them.

insancerre · 03/04/2016 10:40

I must admit I was disappointed that connie and Jacob were rescued

insancerre · 03/04/2016 10:41

Just for taking their safety helmets off
Who does that?
And why didn't anybody say anything?

morningtoncrescent62 · 03/04/2016 14:30

My thoughts exactly. And so realistic I don't think being resued just at the last minute like that. Maybe their near-death experiences will make them re-evaluate what really matters in their lives, and like the rest of the cast they'll leave without giving any notice to go travelling to find themselves.

And perhaps Cal and Ethan (who I used to like but I've had enough of the hushed whispers) will drown/die of hypothermia before next week.

Bring back Lofty!
