HART exist in real life. My partner is a paramedic and was laughing his head off at the way they were portrayed. Apparently it was spot on.

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/11/2015 22:09

erm, dog went back to doctor and other doc going to do paternity test to see if he is the dad of the baby the girl left behind and paramedic got adoption refused

ps im crap with names if you hadnt of guessed

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/11/2015 23:56

ploughing tho them on iplayer, just seen the one with teacher who was drinking and photographer stalking his daughter

ending seemed normal so must be one after that, will watch that tomorrow and think then be up to date

Moln · 04/11/2015 08:28

Oh you were one ahead then

I got confused when the blonde con artist her from holyoaks turned up at the end, then the next week Cal was in possession of a baby. Thought I'd missed an episode, still not too sure if I have!! Don't have iplayer so can't check.

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/11/2015 09:04

There was a mini episode about cal and baby. About 15min long. Is on I player if you can see it

Pixel · 05/11/2015 23:57

Ah I missed that so I was a bit confused by the sudden baby as well. Mind you, don't think I'll watch it now. I couldn't stand any more of Cal juggling the sleeping baby as if she's a salmon about to leap out of his arms at any moment. Shouldn't a doctor know how to pick up a baby?

Changing the subject slightly, hasn't Lily turned evil Shock.

GruntledOne · 06/11/2015 08:12

Isn't the point with Lily that there's some complex psychological thing going on relating to her relationship with her father and her feeling that she hasn't lived up to him, combined with some sort of jealousy in relation to Alicia?

Dylan's OCD cleared up a bit quickly, didn't it?

Pixel · 06/11/2015 22:37

Yes I get all that about Lily, but still - sneaky and spiteful behaviour - not nice!

Agree about the OCD. Bit strange that.

Moln · 14/11/2015 22:29

I don't like these hear them thinking episodes.

absolutelynotfabulous · 14/11/2015 22:37

I didn't get tonight's at all. Alicia saved the guy's life and got into big trouble..why? And where did Jacob's envelope come from? Why was it so important for him to know the name of his assailant anyway?

And didn't the girl who died's father run her over deliberately?

I don't like the thinking aloud thing either. It's too try-hard.

Moln · 14/11/2015 23:24

There wasn't many people actually working was there.

I'm also not too sure why she was in so much trouble, I think I was for not being there (as weren't most of the staff) and for missing the internal bleed.

Has Alicia gone forever?

The girls father didn't run over her on purpose, he was supposed to reverse.

Jacob thought the officer that shot him needed to be taught a lesson. As you do. No clue were it came from though, Jacob probably 'knows' people.

coffeeisnectar · 14/11/2015 23:43

Lily is such a cow. She needs brought down a peg.

Violetcloud · 15/11/2015 00:50

I think Jacob made a call to a 'contact' of his to find out the name a few episodes back, now they have supplied this information in a letter when they surely could have just called him back. I wouldn't mind too much if he did go and teach the guy a lesson if it meant he'd finally be fired.

Hopefully Alicia will be back, it seemed appalling to me that not one person noticed how deeply affected she was by the incident, she should have been given the opportunity to talk it through.

Anyone think Charlie was speaking really weird this episode? He sounded like an apathetic William Shatner.

GruntledOne · 15/11/2015 08:15

I think it was the internal bleed primarily that was the problem - though Lily didn't pick it up the first time she examined the patient either, and she had the advantage that by that time he was complaining of stomach pain. I take it we may be into a workplace bullying theme, with Charlie backing up Alicia.

absolutelynotfabulous · 15/11/2015 09:25

Well I suppose that now makes a bit more sense. I thought Alicia was in trouble for bundling the injured guy into the van and putting him further at risk (even though she saved his life). Security/police took aaages to arrive, and Rita and ambulance bloke just stood around doing nothing.

Didn't Lily miss the bleed as well, though? It only became apparent after cancer boy admitted to having fallen out of a tree, didn't it?

Alicia was being nice, and it backfired. She took whiny boy to get something from the machine and he gave her the slip. She happened (luckily) to be at the scene at the ambulance depot, and saved a guy's life while the others stood about doing nothing.

Surely Connie wouldn't have been able to prohibit Alicia from taking her exams without some sort of investigation first? Unless it's part of a new storyline which will no doubt involve Charlie as workplace rep.

God I detest Joseph. And that bloody awful nurse Louise. So smug.

Optimist1 · 15/11/2015 11:35

I agree that there was very little work done in last night's episode! Ian and wahtsherface canoodling, Jacob sitting around looking moody, Lily perusing memorial headstone brochures, etc. The only saving grace was that the smouldering looks between Connie and Jacob were few and far between. Not sure who Alicia emailed her resignation to, but at least she spelled out the fact that Lily had been bullying her.

TheDrsDocMartens · 15/11/2015 11:47

I found it all a bit unclear. Surely Charlie would have got involved as he was with the boy too.

Sairelou · 15/11/2015 11:47

I quite liked last night's episode. I don't think it is going to be the last we will see of Alicia, I think there will be a full on investigation of Lily's bullying and she will come back to say her piece. It was Mrs Beauchamp she emailed her resignation to at the end.

coffeeisnectar · 15/11/2015 12:12

I think Charlie is on mumsnet. He does the head tilt thing an awful lot.

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/11/2015 22:42

alicia saved the man, tho she/lily missed the bleed, lily is being a bully, and charlie was right considering how she was bullied she should know better

where were hospital security while waiting for police and both in van and dad hitting doors

also surprised jacob didnt wander out, he wandered in a while back and got his self a job

purpleme12 · 17/11/2015 10:01

I think Alicia got into trouble because Connie's getting in on the bullying too because of Lily. I found it really painful to watch last night's. But yes like someone else said I also thought it was a bit weird that the paramedic and Rita did virtually nothing at the ambulance station - I thought that was out of character?

and yes I also really don't like Jacob. Most of the time when there's a character who's not so nice you kind if don't even mind hating them in a way but I just really don't like Jacob and don't know why he's here.

Pixel · 22/11/2015 23:04

Have just caught up with recorded episodes and agree with everything you've all said (especially hating Jacob). I too wondered why Rita and Ian just stood and watched the Father attacking the van when they knew Alicia and the injured man were inside, seemed a bit strange. Also, Connie etc spend a lot of time preaching to junior staff that they are not there to judge patients, but then they all judged the teacher who had been seeing his pupil, even though he was correct that he hadn't broken the law!
Would like to add that Lofty really annoyed me. He knew everyone was frantic to find the boy and that the police had been called, but then when he found him he just sat chatting and staring at clouds for ages. He had his phone right there in his hand (having just used it to trace the boy's whereabouts in a stroke of 'genius' Hmm) but we know he didn't call anyone because the mum was still fretting and pouring her heart out to Charlie when he casually wandered in and handed him over.

Dylan, however, was more lovely than ever (even though he didn't seem to be doing any work either).

gingerhobo48 · 29/11/2015 19:26

I was really upset by last nights episode. I never used to like Cal, I've always liked Ethan , but these last few weeks I've really warmed to Cal.
I've never known what all the fuss was about Charlie, he is so wooden. I really wanted Zoe and Max to work out but I guess it was always doomed .I liked the new male nurse (Joseph is it?) to begin with but now I just find him irritating. Rita is another irritant.

purpleme12 · 29/11/2015 22:41

I found last night's really sad. That baby was really going to turn Cal's life around and be the making of him

morningtoncrescent62 · 30/11/2015 10:52

Hey, was that Russell from Butterflies as the homophobic dad? I spent most of the episode trying to work out where I'd seen him before so thankfully missed the teejus endless introspection over the paternity/blood tests. I do hate it when Connie gets all coy and girly around Jacob. And surely she has to investigate Alicia's resignation email? Or maybe she'll wait a couple of months till a more convenient time.
