My DS is a leftie, I think we knew pretty early on, as soon as he started picking things up. We're not, but his paternal grandfather was, although like you Norah, he was made to use his right hand, so he could use both. It was a long time ago, but I feel bad about DS because we just let him get on with it, I didn't realise that there were left-handed scissors etc. But he was fine with coping with it.
