Arfs at overthinking , frankly it's just not not possible to overthink these things, and I really do think we should get to the bottom of this. So what theories have we got so far...?

1. It's Tom's tongue and he was misbehaving in a very unprofessional manner, in which case he has the tongue of Ermintrude and MrMaimie needs to call him out with a swift slap across the chops

or....

1. Its Maimie's tongue and she was either - battling Tom's tongue (bad Tom!) in deference to MrMaimie, thus sparing him the need to call Tom out and potentially bring an about an abrupt end to her marriage OR she was trying to dislodge and annoying piece of celery OR the production team had sat down and discussed this at length, finally agreeing that they needed to give the impression of a good tonguing.

Either way, it's a tricky move to pull off when you've got a mouthful of Tom Burke I imagine

It's been great reading everyone's comments. I disappeared off to bed shortly after 10 last night and today's been productively hectic so this is the first chance I've had to properly catch up (with Tom Baker era Doctor Who on Horror on in the background).

I thought it was a cracking episode. I doubt we'll get much more Milathos snogging this series and it will be left for series 3 (fervently hope that they don't kill off Milady, it would be such a waste of a truly complex character).

Anyway, hope those unwell feel better soon and I'm off to read reviews and follow all your links!
