Here we are again. Grab a Beardy Fucker, pull up a chaise and LetUs (nto) all fall into a drunken stupor.

Start as we mean to go on.

Grin Morelike do you put on a long sheet cape and swish around sneering?

Salford is a charming little backwater to the northwest of Manchester, with excellent flyovers travel networks and enjoying vast tracts of open waste ground, interesting firebombed architecture and numerous high rises points from which to view the local stabbings entertainment

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/03/2015 11:26

Morelike Often pretend I am Snape My mind is boggling.

If you google TB and Alan Rickman you'll get lots of interviews where it's referenced.

Elk Grin

BloodyElkFire · 13/03/2015 11:32

Poor Alibabs

I've no idea about older night visitors as once MlleElk's asleep nothing short of a bomb under her bed will shift her, and one moderately good night from BabyElk is no shining example I was still sodding well awake! however we've tried treats, threats, removal of teddies, promises of trips to play centres, etc to get MlleElk to stay in bed before she goes to sleep....the most successful was the "good going to bed chart" that she drew herself and filled in with stickers.....5 stickers to collect and she would get a treat of her choosing that had been agreed at the start and written on the chart in multicoloured pens Hmm....worked a treat

Baddz · 13/03/2015 11:33

Love Yorkshire and Northumberland.
I would move to Northumberland in a heartbeat!
Ds2 has gone to school with red spray in his hair for comic relief :)
Been to asda, need to tackle the ironing.
Bil was quite tired last night. But he is walking and eating.
His blood sugar was 23 though...so pretty sure he is diabetic.
If this will teach him anything hopefully he will start to take better care of himself.

Morelikeguidelines · 13/03/2015 11:33

Only in my head.

Baddz · 13/03/2015 11:35

Ali...hope you feel better soon x
Elk...hope it continues!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/03/2015 11:37

Hiya Badders We had a no hair dye rule at school today. There was one wig though.

Morelike well, considering what goes through most of our heads in here on a regular basis I don't think anyone here is in a position to judge Grin

Baddz · 13/03/2015 11:39

There were quite a few with coloured spray on this morning :)
Only problem is we will need to wash it out before swimming

Frankly I think this topic brings out my silly side! I don't talk so much rubbish as on here anywhere else....

Is a fun topic though - much more than Aibu!

Need to work out how to upload gifs etc.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/03/2015 11:48

I just ran downstairs to fetch a large textbook, and ran back up waving it about in front of me... 'oooh!' thinks my brain - 'book fighting'. Take that Red Guards.
Should I be despairing of the state of my brain, or proud of it?

Badders they dye our local swimming pool orange ('pumpkin juice') on halloween. Though to be honest it's more a murky brownish yuck. You could just be adding your own contribution to red nose day.

IssyStark · 13/03/2015 11:52

Morning all! (While it is just morning)

Elk - hurrah for BabkyElk, long may it continue Grin Ds1 was a crap sleeper, part of the reason there's 5 years between my two, so you have compete empathy from me.

Helen that smile, if even so fleeting...

Madame down to the serious business of where to live. I loved my almost decade in Bath and Bristol is pretty good, but traffic is crap in bath at least. But lots of places to eat, good theatres and cinemas and horrendously expensive houses as the downside. Northumbria gorgeous but I've never lived there, central belt in Scotland has it's charms - have family in Dunblane and that's stunning and well connected. You will note I'm not suggesting Southampton because house prices around here are stupid but if money were no object, I'd jump across the county border and live in Chichester and sign away most of my pay in theatre tickets...

Morelikeguidelines · 13/03/2015 11:58

elk answer is actually yes - job is to wear black cape and swish around sneering (outs self too much?).

MadamedeChevreuse · 13/03/2015 12:06

I am sensing a no to Salford there from elk.

Thanks for the tips issy.

Ah feck it. Am coming to the conclusion...Country is "naice", but boring and isolated, and means you have to work from home. (Provided the broadband works OK.) Cities are fun and lively, but not so naice, and often expensive.

Does anyone know of somewhere that squares the above circle? I'm asking seriously...cos I might really be moving soon (on my own...hopefully with ds...)

badders really glad he's still improving, not so good about the blood sugar though. Flowers

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/03/2015 12:13

Madame, I liked SmallVillageWhereWeUsedToLive which was near BiggerPlaceWithAmenities but not as expensive... still required driving, but wasn't as much in the sticks as here. Though you also need to consider childcare and school catchment areas... Countryside isn't necessarily boring, it's just different pace and priorities.

MadamedeChevreuse · 13/03/2015 12:18

Fuck it. Think Im just going to run away to the costa de la luz and open a chiringuito. Anyone fancy it?

BloodyElkFire · 13/03/2015 12:19

anyone else struggling to post photos?

BloodyElkFire · 13/03/2015 12:21

Sounds brilliant Madame. If I knew what a chiringuito was I'd be there like a shot!

BloodyElkFire · 13/03/2015 12:22

BloodyElkFire · 13/03/2015 12:24

Never in a million years imagined I'd be cropping Alan Rickman out of a photograph, but......hot damn Tom!
