DS drew me a picture of him feeding the giraffes and gave me 30 kisses for Mother's Day.

We've got 2 days of long hot drives ahead of us. CJ is complaining he's too cramped in the fully laden land rover. He's looking forward to working on his tan at the coast though. Is it cherin getting him next? I hope she likes tan lines, though she'll need to search for them, he's insisting on v tiny speedos, barely big enough to contain the bulge.

Happy Mothers Day Flowers

I got a lie in, cards and a soap n glory gift set.

Would rather have had the above but never mind Grin

Morning! I hope everyone has a lovely day today. Thanks icemist for a superb collection of photos this morning.

I had a lay in and a new pair of slippers! Now cooking and baking ready for 10 for dinner tonight!

Nickel45 · 15/03/2015 11:09

Happy Mother's Day :)
I've spent all morning in bed with a migraine, but clearing now, thank goodness ... especially as our drains are blocked so there is a nice man outside currently running some pumpy thing very loudly! Unfortunately he doesn't have a checked shirt or rigger gloves or CJs face or physique but does have some large red rubber gloves?!!!?! For some reason made me think of something I imagine you'd have in your Hoover cupboard woof?!! Still, I've sent DH and kids off to the shops so have half hour to fest on some CJ! Unfortunately not literally!

Paintedcherryblossoms · 15/03/2015 12:30

Happy Mother's Day from Kenya

I was thinking of a story my Mum used to tell me. I suppose it's with it being Mother's Day and thinking of those no longer with us. I sort of remember bits of it myself from being small, under school age I guess. I was an only child and had an imaginary "friend" called Ringo. I suppose that might have had something to do with the Beatles - that would give my age away if you didn't know it already! Anyway, Ringo used to go everywhere with me and I do recall him coming on holiday with us a time or two! So, the best part of 50 years later and I have another imaginary friend who even went on holiday to Bath with me! Not much has changed then. Blush

Ilovelblue · 15/03/2015 14:32

Jen so glad you've updated your story. How appropriate that CJ finds out about Molly's baby on Mother's Day. Your writing transports me into a completely believable fictional world if that makes sense. I love it.

Onlygirljen · 15/03/2015 16:56

Thanks ilove Smile

Hope everyone is having an enjoyable Mother's Day! I've graduated to an inner ear infection (never mix flights with a bad cold), but have antibiotics now so hopefully start feeling better soon.

Been catching up on ff this afternoon, brilliant updates all round - well done nipper, whajeb and pixie. The adventures of CJ have quite literally had me crying with laughter, I promise to add to them when I'm feeling a bit more alive!

orphan · 15/03/2015 17:47

Afternoon all! Hope everyone is having a lovely day. We went out for brunch this morning and now dp is cooking up a storm and prosecco is about to be opened...Smile

Just read the latest ff updates.
jen I always end up repeating myself, but your writing really is superb. You actually made me cry whilst reading CJ finding out about the baby.

spo you are a comic genius (and seriously clever at weaving in all the references) but there is such depth to the characterisation as well. The SZS are real, aren't they? So pleased as well that their adventures aren't at an end. And for the nth time, please come back to us!!

pixieg1rl · 15/03/2015 18:00

I hope you all had good mothers days. I'm sat on a verandah, cold beer in hand watching elephants at a waterhole just feet away and there are lion grunting close by. Amazingly privileged to be here.

percyjackson1 · 15/03/2015 18:30

Happy Mothers Day!

To Mothers, for what they mean, and meant... cheers

pixieg1rl · 15/03/2015 18:46

Great update jen I hope you're on the mend now.

Ilovelblue · 15/03/2015 19:27

Ladies, if you want a really good adrenalin and testosterone fuelled programme with hunky men and uniforms thrown in for good measure, watch BBC2 at 8pm tonight - Red Arrows: Inside the Bubble. I've seen it before I think so if it's the one I remember, it's well worth sitting down for. As I recall, the team leader was pretty tasty as well. (And they're real, not fictional).

BK28 I am thinking of putting myself forward as CJ's UK tour co-ordinator. Wondered about calling it "Back by Popular Demand". Is there anyone else who missed out first time round?

pixie great picture - not seen the sun all day here!

Ilovelblue · 15/03/2015 19:31

How's the head Nickel? I get migraines occasionally. You feel so drained afterwards, even though the headache has gone.

Paintedcherryblossoms · 15/03/2015 19:44

Please add me to the "back by popular demand" tour list ilove got a lovely big office chair at the ready Grin and some Rosabaya on the boil

Onlygirljen · 15/03/2015 19:46

Thanks orphan and pixie. I'm full of antibs and painkillers, and hoping that a bit of poldark will cheer me up later tonight! Grin

Pixie, that photo is spectacular, hope you're having an amazing time!

icemistOBE · 15/03/2015 19:51

Some fab ff updates today Jen and SPO and looks like a few more too.
Hope everyone had a lovely day

Am shattered after staying up till 2am with hubby so I might have to miss Poldark.

Evening Ladies.

Well, I am exhausted. My Mother's Day consisted of leaving home at 6am to do a 150 mile round trip to take DD to a sports comp in order to get her there for 8am. It lasted all day and I finally got back at 7pm. On the plus side she did win a medal and I got to drive past a certain hotel twice today and gave it a wave from you all. The kids shook their heads in utter bemusement at me. These days I just tell them to trust me that its funny but far to complicated to explain.

Ilovelblue · 15/03/2015 20:12

Need to work out which area of the UK you live in Painted. He's done the south west (me at Bailbrook and I collected him fromMooj), then I brought him up to Manchester for Icemist and she put him on a plane up to Jen. Then he came south again to orphan and is now with pixie in Kenya. Of course, he was with cjwoof first of all and I can't for the life of me remember where she lives. Knowing her, she'll want second dibs at him as well just so that she can write more in her diary!!

Ilovelblue · 15/03/2015 20:13

Rhubarb you should have called in for afternoon tea at our favourite hotel.

cjwoofwoof · 15/03/2015 20:18

Evening! And a belated Happy Mothers Day. I've been at DS's football all day then hit the Prosecco a bit too early so having to type this lying down. Only had two big glasses, honest you lightweight

Can't wait to catch up on the ff but seeing double at mo so may have to wait til tomorrow as Poldark is looming. Hope I still see double ATs come 9pm, esp if he goes shirtless, Mmm very nice indeed Wink

cjwoofwoof · 15/03/2015 20:22

Second dibs and rightly so for me ilove as I think you'll find the M4 is the main thoroughfare to most of our addresses and I just happen to live near it. CJ will need a wash and brush up before the next visit and Woof Manor is central. Aah the advantages of living in the Thames Valley...
