I am fine with no naked Musketeers to be honest. I like the new violence levels and think the watershed is justified. I also like the plot bits.

This is the first episode that I am a bit concerned that the boys will have watched - the entertainment will have gone over their head but the Rochefort/Queenie stuff is going to be tricky.

FolknNorah · 06/03/2015 22:18

Thus had the perfect opportunity for Porthos to take off his jacket and they didn't take it.

It's like they've looked at all the fans, seen the demographic and thought, 'nah, fuck it, we'll do the opposite'

I can't believe I'm moaning about this. Even if it wasn't a great episode last series, there wasn't anything to moan about. Other than a severe lack of sweaty naked bare chested musketeers. Obviously.

Loved it loved it loved it!!!

Fuck me Aramis is FAF.

Queenie was fab at the end.

Connie and Dog are very cute.

Athos and Milady in the pub was fantastic.

Rochefort hasn't just tipped over the edge, he's taken a flying leap.

Loved all the fighting.

Porthos was ace - especially when he kicked Scottish bad guy's arse, Treville was ace.

MiladyBeaWinter · 06/03/2015 22:19

Oh dear poor Howie. This was Porthos big storyline and it all felt, well, a bit clumsy? Like they felt they got a famous actor in so no real need to work on the dialogue and decent plot. Even the fighting in the posh brothel was a bit, idk, staid? Just no enthusiasm from them this week

I guessed something was wrong with the portrait, do I get to do CSI Paris now too? Other good bits were Queeny slashing Rochefort, poor Dr LeMay being all gallant and understanding (good thing someone is ) and, of course, every scene with Athos brooding in it. Mine is bigger than yours bit was hilaire.

Fucking two weeks wait

MiladyBeaWinter · 06/03/2015 22:22

Ha Lyndie I thought Alice in Wonderland re Connie too. Her black number was much nicer but she did flounce better in the turquoise. And by flounce I mean in a happy puff ball summery young girl way. Not in a wench way Grin.

IssyStark · 06/03/2015 22:23

ali Liam Cunningham - been in loads

mouse Glenfiddich

I thought it was a so-so episode but the finale looks good (Spouse also said as much and sounded genuinely excited). I, well enjoyed isn't quite the right word, maybe appreciated is better, the Athos -Milady interaction, she looked genuinely hurt by his parting remark. Along with the sound bite in the 'next time', it makes me a bit more certain that there might be a bit of redemption in her story arc.

LetUsPrey · 06/03/2015 22:23

Just reading back. Mouse - Dog, dude feel the room - brilliant Grin

AnneOfAramis · 06/03/2015 22:23

See I heard Connie as saying 'how can we take advantage of his death ' - plus needing space. What I heard is maybe we shouldn't do this. She could have said I need to do my mourning but I love you, which maybe would have elicited I love you too I can wait. He basically heard 'it can't happen'.

Lyndie · 06/03/2015 22:23

Phoebe Dynevar Mavis, she was in The Village.

Lyndie · 06/03/2015 22:25

The Village was grim 1920's Yorkshire thing with Maxine thingy.

IssyStark · 06/03/2015 22:25

Anne I agree, black dress deg better than the blue thing

Lyndie · 06/03/2015 22:26

Ali D'Artagnan was just beautiful wasn't he??

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 06/03/2015 22:27

Rochefort in the end was just too much!

Loved when Dog said "shut up and kiss me" Grin

I'm just disappointed that this post watershed thingy don't include more romance!

And I'm really irritated about the violence/attempted violence against women, perhaps it's supposed to be more realistic, but I really don't want to see it on the telly!

JessCate · 06/03/2015 22:28

Evening! Tonight episode felt like 90 minutes long... Mostly because they dragged out Porthos' story and it chopped and changed and by the end I lost total interest... But the palace COR ITS GETTIG INTERESTING.

Main issue for me this series - there is no challenge for Roquefort and I'm frankly bored of the baddie being bad and there never being an end in sight. He seems to have one over on everyone and by the time we get to his downfall whenever that may be, it's not gonna be as good as when it was the Cardinal. As in the Musketeers always kept theCardinal on his toes but no one can deal with sweaty crazy eyed Roquefort... Apart from Milady who was A MASSIVE DISAPPOINTMENT BY NOT SOCKING IT TO THE DAFT BLONDE TOSSPOT WHILE SHE HAD THE CHANCE!!!

Anyway Connie's hair still looks shit and Popey if you're reading my services are still up for grabs. Her blue dress reminded me of Cinderella! I hope her and Dog are happy but you know it's never meant to be Sad

Poor Queenie though. Can they just kill off the King and let her rule?!

Anyway I actually quite enjoyed that episode but I think I need to rewatch as I'm sure Ive probably missed a lot.

Lyndie · 06/03/2015 22:28

Wow her mum is Sally from Corrie!! Who knew??

MavisGrind · 06/03/2015 22:31

Lyndie - she was in The Village! -and she's only 19, cow--

AnneOfAramis · 06/03/2015 22:33

Romance I would like more of.

I did like the Athos/Milady exchange they really are genuinely effected by each other.

MavisGrind · 06/03/2015 22:33

Ah, I see you got there first lyndie.

Oh, and yy to Connie in a Cinderella dress.

Lyndie · 06/03/2015 22:34
  1. Ouch. Beautiful though no?
ApricotCrush · 06/03/2015 22:35

Hmm, well, I do think it dragged a bit, but gosh, the last 10 minutes!
It's building up nicely for the last 2 epis.

Nice scene again between Athos and Milady, but not nearly enough of them.

How can the Doctor love Connie, he hardly knows her? I thought that was a bit superfluous and just included to drag the Constagnan thing out a bit longer. And I wish they'd stop their public displays of affection. It's all a bit sugary.

And again, no bedroom stuff. We're not going to get any, are we? They're not either. It's very disappointing.

Wasn't everything a lovely colour, I love the blues and browns.

Not the best episode, maybe it will improve on rewatch.

I'm not so bothered about the postponement, but I am very dismayed that the US are getting the last two epis before us. A final insult by the BBC to the loyal fans of the show.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 06/03/2015 22:35

Actually, did I miss something re. Rochefort? Was there something between him asking Milady if there were any rumours re. Aramis and the Queen (and getting a WTAF look from her), and then him going utterly loopy at the Queen? It seemed quite a big leap...

I need to re-watch this one.

Enormouse · 06/03/2015 22:36

It felt like they had built the porthos and his dad plot up quite a bit over the last few weeks but it seemed a bit dragged out and meh in this episode as jess said.

Lyndie · 06/03/2015 22:37

Forgot to say did anyone get a bit ragey that Tamla said in that BBC clip that some fans were over-invested? And that it wasn't real? AngryAngry

FancyFancy · 06/03/2015 22:37

Grin off to read the thread

MavisGrind · 06/03/2015 22:37

Yes... I do admit beautiful

Oh, and whilst I think of it, in this series apparently Red Hair = Psycho. Hmm
