I was an OGAer, mainly for the ff thread. I joined a few weeks ago around the time I realised I wasn't alone in my OG FF obsession. What has happened over there over the last few weeks has been rather crazy, and from what I gather there was a previous crazy period before I joined. I think the sudden implode this morning took a lot of people by surprise, but bearing in mind how fed up the admins had clearly got of trying to please everybody, it is probably for the best that they closed the group. I personally think reviewgate has got a lot to do with it all, it all got a bit out of hand IMO and I'm sure there are some who might look back on it all with their sanity glasses on and wonder what in earth came over them. As far as the goats thing went it was a running joke about the goat that fell at smurfs hand, and the cabbage was to do with CJ kissing Molly's hand I think. There was a silly weekend around feb time when we'd probably had too much wine and the references to it stuck.
I don't really understand twitter, so won't comment on that.
From what I could see there were some very supportive friendships made, so I feel sad for those who may have lost that.
I would be extremely surprised if there aren't a very mainly people from OGA and elsewhere lurking in and out of this thread, although how they'd keep up I'll never know as I've been trying since introducing myself a couple of weeks ago and keep getting lost!
I hope that having laid my cards on the table I'm still welcome here, I'm very glad to have bonded with whajeb over ff and would like to have somewhere to chat about the stories I'm reading and somewhere to ask questions to help me out with the stories I'm working on!
