Oh, dear, I totally understand the lack of sleep baby/toddler who is a bit of a pest and won't let you sit back for five minutes ever. Ds4 is and was a nightmare like this. He still doesn't normally sleep through, is a nightmare to get to bed in the first place, and is everywhere and into everything.
Flowers

badvoc you will be very much missed, but if this is something you really want to do then good luck!
I'm wondering about doing the same actually, and using the time to get some stuff finished. I've got a few crochet projects I need to get done and it might be good to have a strict sort of schedule.
Not sure I have that sort of will power though and I'm not in anyway religious..Grin perhaps I should just go for the timetable thing...

I enjoyed the new episode, and reading the Rewatch commentary Grin. Hope everyone is ok?

LetUsPrey · 16/02/2015 08:32

Morning wenches.

Thanks for the drink Foxy.

Big for Elk. DS2 was and still is a bit like that, into everything, always off everywhere, although now he's 8 I feel I can leave him in the living room without going back in and finding him standing on a table or something. Throw in your house move and no wonder you're exhausted.

Best get off to work. Have good days wenches

MadamedeChevreuse · 16/02/2015 08:33

Morning all. Half term, day off and very early play date here

elk Flowers Cake sleep deprivation is so awful. However I cant believe how much youve managed to fit in, despite having a high maintenance baby! Wench respect.

Slightly awkward situation here...a while ago a mother of ds's friend (who isn't English and doesnt have perfect english) proposed to us a trip away during easter. As it was easter I wasnt sure if we'd be around, so made polite noises and said itd be great if we were here, would have to check etc. They arrive this am and shes actually booked the hotel for us all! It is actual easter weekend (the sat night), when normally we'd most likely be seeing family. Im happy to go but dp is not impressed. Is implying that if there's a family thing that weekend, we sack off ds's friend. But shes already booked the hotel! Shock Feel really awkward. Wwwd? (What would wenches do.)

BloodyElkFire · 16/02/2015 09:16

Well, shit.....look at that butter not melting

Thanks for all your lovely support. I know you lot have been here and understand. However I have resolved to stop moaning about it and if she doesn't sleep for a hour whilst I watch sweaty drugged athos then I'm locking her in the cellar for the duration

Lyndie · 16/02/2015 09:27

Morning!!!

Elk DD2 was like that, became a really happy and independent toddler though! Fingers crossed for you. Are you thinking about any sleep training or not going there?

Sparks shame about the marathon, you must be gutted. I'm not sure we're really supposed to be running that far though!! This time of year we get loads of runners in desperately trying to patch themselves together for it. Sad

I dunno Madame, that's a difficult one!! Can you go anyway? and leave DP behind

MrsB those domestic arrangements would drive me bananas but it clearly works for you!! Do the DC ever see DH putting a wash on or cooking?

Just 1.5 days of work and by tomorrow at 1pm I'll be on holiday!! Hurrah!!

Layers. GrinGrin

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 16/02/2015 10:29

Noooooooo Madame. Tricky. But really, she shouldn't have done that. Or did she misunderstand your response? Can you sneakily find out which hotel & who she booked through - & check out the cancellation policy, see if she could get her money back? Orrrrrr she might not even have had to pay anything yet?

low level stress, as A-Level Psychology DS1 would say.

Baddz · 16/02/2015 11:02

Hi foxy :)
Elk...I won't tell you about my issues with ds1 when he was a baby (as it might push you over the edge :)) in my darkest days it was fucking grim. BUT He has turned into a really lovely boy :) very chilled out and calm. Of course puberty is on the horizon so I'm not counting my chickens just yet!

BloodyElkFire · 16/02/2015 11:15

WATCHING!!!!!!!

MiladyBeaWinter · 16/02/2015 11:19

Morning. We have sun on the house today!!! . We are in sun shadow from the hill right behind us from mid-Nov to mid-Feb, which once Christmas has gone is pretty bloody depressing at times. But it's back!!!!

Of course that now means the garden starts to go bonkers, but it won't look really bad until June so ....

DH does cook when he absolutely has to Lyndie. So the DC do see him. Like on Friday when I had to be out for 5pm so he"cooked" for him and the DC. And according to DD "it was really yummy". Well yes it would be sweetheart because it was Slag Bol which Mummy made and Daddy heated up. He did manage pasta and garlic bread all on his own though Hmm.

Sparks that is really Sad Sad Sad re the marathon. Will they let you defer it to next year as it was a competition win? One of my friends is training for it too, going the charity route. £1200 target and once you have a few people rallyng round to help it's pretty easy to raise it for next year?

I agree with Sparks Madame. I'd be checking cancellation policy before I decided. Unless you want to go? Or will it cause too much issues with DP?

MiladyBeaWinter · 16/02/2015 11:24
SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 16/02/2015 11:31

Could get messy.

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 16/02/2015 11:33

I have just this minute sent off my email asking to defer. The terms & conditions said you couldn't though which is rubbish as you can with a normal entry if you are injured. Trying to not think about it too much cos I'll cry.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/02/2015 11:45

Yay Elk - fingers crossed for not being interrupted.
Madame that's well awkward! do you know where she's booked - is it even somewhere you'd like to go?
Waves to Foxy, Lyndie, LetUs, Badders
Sparks - fingers crossed for being allowed to defer.

I am 'supervising' a playdate - to be honest I think they're fine and seem to be playing quite happily together so actually I can get some work done - hurrah! Half term play dates are a good thing. I'm not doing lent this year. Unless I do decide to give up chocolate again, just to prove I can.

BloodyElkFire · 16/02/2015 12:14

HOLY FUCK!!! Well that's me entirely useless for the rest of the day

FancyFancy · 16/02/2015 12:15

Afternoon.

Keeping everything crossed for you watching ep 5 elk & what a cute photo Grin

That is quite a dilemma madame, she shouldn't have booked but that's not helpful for me to say that now! I guess what you do depends on how much grief it would cause if you're not around for family visits etc. (& like sparks says, whether she'll be out of pocket if you cancel)

Yay for the sun mrsbeee - have you put washing out? Wink

Good luck with the email sparks

Hope the playdate continues going well helen, just be suspicious if it goes silent

BloodyElkFire · 16/02/2015 12:15

Stick a fork in me....

FancyFancy · 16/02/2015 12:19

Excellent news elk. It was a very good episode to look at wasn't it? Grin So much in there for the fans.

lj comm did a rewatch last night here

FancyFancy · 16/02/2015 12:25

Enjoy watching it elk! Ought to go & do some parenting I suppose Grin

See you all later

BloodyElkFire · 16/02/2015 12:37
Enormouse · 16/02/2015 12:40

Bless her she looks so sweet now elk. You aren't alone. Babymouses refusal to sleep contributed in part to my pnd. Pils took pity and had the DSes for a weekend and afterwards they looked like zombies (purely thanks to baby, toddler was an angel) and said they understood why I needed ADs. He's better now though.

Glad you got to watch. It was awesome, wasn't it?

Fingers crossed for you sparks and madame getting things sorted.

Waves at helen, badders, fancy and anyone I've missed.

I've come up in bruises from Saturday on my arse Hmm so I'm sat on a microwaveable dinsoaur watching inception.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 16/02/2015 12:45

LOL Elk we thought you'd like that one. We're also expecting your professional opinion on the exposed chestage Wink

Fancy they're running round the garden (suspiciously quiet now though) and I need to sort out lunch....
