Honestly! This blooming baby! She's becoming so high maintenance. She's the sort of child who, if you gave your arms a rest from her flailing holding her, and sat her in the middle of an empty room, she would have her fingers in the door hinge by the time you'd blinked. Its exhausting, and she's not even crawling yet! MlleElk was nothing like this, it's a shock I can tell you.

I'm sorry, I feel like all I do these days is moan. She's utterly delightful and gorgeous and i'm so grateful to have her, but I've just got nothing left in the tank right now, no reserves to draw on when we have a tough night

That sounds tough elk. Moan away, I think we can all sympathise at least, or empathise depending on how difficult our own little shits darlings were as babies.

You must be exhausted Elk. I can't even imagine what a house move must be like with a baby at that stage.

It's NOT moany to be despairing sometimes. It's human & we've all been there & It Will Pass.

And a bit like investments 'past performance is no guarantee of future returns' for babies . The most difficult of babies may be an angelic toddler & vice versa. Well, you know what I mean, no toddler is angelic - that would be freaky & unnatural, but it's all relative.

Oh elk, you have my deepest sympathy.

I was completely sleep deprived for over two years: Ds1 was incredibly high maintenance and simply did not believe in sleep - 19 min power naps, woke every 2 hours overnight (or more) until he was over 26 months, complete nightmare. Was a delightful toddler, kept expecting terrible twos and then terrible threes and it just never happened. So here's hoping for an easy toddlerdom from Baby-elk

19 min power naps would have been bliss, more like 10 min.
