It's back on Thursday! here. No details of contestants yet. How many men this time? Any?

Ten sewers, six weeks, can't wait!

(Can't think of another word for sewers at the moment, wish I could!)

bluelamp how exciting you know someone! I thought Amanda was lovely. Apart from Army Man with his precision way of doing things (which might be his downfall if he lets that take over artistic flair), I like Deborah, young red head girl. She seemed to know what she's doing.

I was hoping their wouldn't be 'token' men on there - just because - but I fear that might be the case with Paul. Young Ryan pulled it together at the end so my initial worries about him went, but still not sure he has the experience or staying power.

SoupDragon · 06/02/2015 08:08

I think Ryan has the ability but not the experience.

Oldraver · 06/02/2015 09:25

I blummin well missed it despite looking everyday. I will watch later and read the thread at the same time.

I have to say I find a man and a sewing machine quite sexy. I do tend to fall back on OH fixing my machine even though I could probably do it myself (but he is better at it than me)

"ooh OH, my tension has gone again"

CatsClaus · 06/02/2015 09:36

i liked army man (nick? or neil?) , very tall air hostess (lorna/laura), thought matt with the stones was a bit wankery, but may forgive him for having a soh, Plaster lady was just scary

Scottish lady...was sad to see her go but that dress was HORRIBLE
Liked Neela too, but she maybe a bit jolly hockey sticks/Julia Sawhala

Also outraged at that tutu...a denim waistband...utter nonsense!

SoupDragon · 06/02/2015 09:59

Air Hostess is Lorna.

I really liked Annie (Scottish Dairy Farmer) as she seemed funny and totally honest about her abilities but she was the right one to go.

5Foot5 · 06/02/2015 13:15

Based on last night I would say Army Man (Neil?) and retired air hostess (Lorna) are in a league of their own.

It would be great to have a man win this year wouldn't it?

Deux · 06/02/2015 15:41

I think I've got a little crush on Army Man. Off into battle, then back home to make you a frock. Yin and yang ..... Sigh.

JeanneDeMontbaston · 06/02/2015 16:29

Ok, so can I ask - has Patrick got false eyelashes on? They're quite subtle, but they do look oddly long and lush.

Cherrypi · 06/02/2015 16:44

I liked Alex but don't think she'll go very far.

Davros · 06/02/2015 19:13

I wondered if it was filmed in November and Patrick was taking part in Movember?
Claudia as unbearable as usual

SoupDragon · 06/02/2015 19:31

I love Claudia :) she makes me laugh.

EATmum · 06/02/2015 19:36

I love sewing but it takes me days weeks to make anything. I'm amazed at how quickly they can work without everything falling apart. Mostly.

JimmyCorkhill · 07/02/2015 08:35

But EATmum they don't have to stop to deal with little children/unload the dishwasher/pack everything away so the dining table can be used....Grin

Icimoi · 07/02/2015 08:46

Couldn't be filmed in November, that was when Claudia's daughter was in hospital. Judging from the way they were sitting outdoors it must be earlier.

Roussette · 07/02/2015 13:59

Haha I am just wetting myself at the thought of Patrick with false eyelashes - don't know why I find that so funny but I do Grin

Yes, I have a weensy crush on Army Man too and yes do agree that there is something sexy about a man and a sewing machine - it's the contrast that does it for me, oh yes!

I did find Alex (plaster cast woman) a tad irritating - don't know why really, and I am being mean, but she just pressed my wrong buttons.

Davros · 07/02/2015 15:25

Good point about the Movember idea. What happened to Claudia's DD was terrible but I still find her very annoying. At least she hasn't offered to lick someone's face (yet), she will though, she has a small repertoire

JeanneDeMontbaston · 07/02/2015 21:37

rous - I know, right?! I saw them, thought that's what they were and cackled.

I am tickled by the idea.

I think Alex is very, very gorgeous and I am impressed by her beautiful earrings (though, ouch! Heavy!). But she seems a little bit as if she hasn't quite got into the swing of what the programme wants.

Roussette · 08/02/2015 08:46

Jeanne I shall be watching closely next episode, I like a groomed man but this is one step too far Grin

yeah Patrick, you've got it right with this article Smile. Makes total sense, a (male) member of my family studied Engineering at Uni and although he doesn't make a habit of it, he has sewed fancy dress costumes and curtains and is nifty on a sewing machine.

Can I join in, sewing bee is almost my dream tv. Sometimes it's a bit too basic, but I realise that it has to be in order to have wide appeal and other times I think the tasks are very hard.

i wish they'd publish in their web site a list of patterns and fabrics used. I really like the vintagey dress that one of the men make for his wife (not the salmon one with cut outs). I'm going to have to trawl through loads of patter website to find it.

MILLYmo0se · 08/02/2015 10:34

gutsy try messaging the sewing bee FB page and see can they help you track it down ?

Roussette · 08/02/2015 11:55

Welcome Gutsy - hope you find your pattern Smile

Hello can I join in? I only managed to watch it this morning! I love this programme - partly because of Claudia who makes me chuckle and obviously the handsome Patrick (agree about bringing back the beard - moustache is too Air Force for me). I really like this year's contestants; the team has found a great mix of talent I think. Loving the soldier; his attitude is just perfect. I thought the dresses were all really good, but loved both the poppy ones. Hope they can all keep it up!

Roussette · 08/02/2015 17:23

Hi Margy, welcome! Agree, I loved the poppy dresses too, and please Patrick, grow back that beard!

mineallmine · 08/02/2015 18:04

Hi there, can I join in too? This is my desert island TV show. My favourites to win are either Lorna (that poppy dress was so chic) or Neil but my favourite dress was the other man's, the one who uses stones instead of pins, can't remember his name but he said it was his wife's favourite dress. I'd love to make that dress for myself.

Patrick is still very dashing but please, Patrick, if you're reading this, please grow back the beard.

Roussette · 08/02/2015 18:30

Hi mine and welcome! Yes I liked the dress that the man did for his wife and how wonderful to have a DH who does this but I am just imagining what my DH would do and it is making me lmao, he s the most impractical man ever!
