I can't see a thread about this, I'm not the only one watching surely?!

Anyone?

Its a codependant sexual perversion where the feeder has a thing for massively obese bodies and keeps shovelling food into their partner irrespective of the damage its doing. Not the same as liking a bit of meat on a partner, women have died from it. I've never heard of a woman feeding a man btw,

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 22/02/2015 17:20

Is Shirley being fed up for a polar bear sacrifice?,

We're plodding along with it but it's getting tedious.

I think the acting has been great but Sophie Grabol acting using English is painful to watch, bless her; she was amazing in The Killing but this isn't suiting her.

YesAnastasia · 23/02/2015 19:08

Yeah, a 'feeder' is a thing. The women can be really poorly, hooked up to breathing app & they still keep feeding them, it's deranged. I saw one documentary where he'd film himself washing her then pleasure himself to it later...

Anyway... Sophie Grabol is disappointing in this so far but I've got a feeling that's going to change.

I can't work out if I fancy Dan or not.

Oh no Mammoth juice is going down the drain and as we all know everyone in Fortitude's water comes straight from the drain so they'll all be infected and go into a Mammoth trance. It's such a load of bollocks- yet I'm still watching.

YoniMitchell · 03/03/2015 11:20

Please can someone summarise/bullet point the storyline from the first 3 episodes? I'm completely lost despite watching and re-watching parts and usually love this kind of thing!

ShebaRabbit · 03/03/2015 11:59

ace did a great summary in this thread. you sound like my DH, I have to keep pausing to explain Grin

TalcumMucker · 03/03/2015 12:07

Oh, I started this thread, watched the first 2 episodes then missed the third and realised I wasn't interested enough to find it and catch up so have definitely lost my way. Might wait until the whole series has finished then binge watch it instead

Thanks ShebaRabbit

PacificDogwood · 05/03/2015 22:33

WTAF went on in the most recent episode?! Confused

I am about to give up on it, I think.
Might go over to the other thread and see if the summary or spoilers help me along.

What on earth is going on?

CinnabarRed · 09/03/2015 13:22

Watched this at the weekend - OMG. Even DH, who has a concrete stomach, watched Shirley murdering her doc mum and then vomiting into her open chest cavity on x2.

KissyBoo · 09/03/2015 14:45

I was thinking that it might be the equivalent of a modern day asylum for the criminally insane.... They are all going to turn out to be previous offenders.

ShebaRabbit · 09/03/2015 22:53

I couldnt look at that scene, the fork Shock

I really think they are all in on it, whatever it is.

ChaiseLounger · 11/03/2015 18:56

I still can't decide if it's ultra good or ultra shite.

Onecurrantbun · 12/03/2015 20:00

Could be awesome could be bollox. Hope it doesn't do a Lost style "woke up and it was all a dream". Will ensure our takeaway is finished long before tonight's ep commences - yuk. Didn't realise she vommed, was behind a cushion

RobotLover68 · 15/03/2015 16:44

I couldn't look at that scene either - DH had to tell me when it was over - wasn't expecting the mother to survive and the daughter to cark it though!

Lammy7 · 17/03/2015 12:01

I'm fascinated by it and can't stop watching it now! I reckon the whole island is going to go gak and kill each other :)

PTAblues · 17/03/2015 18:03

I'm presuming that the whole boring storyline of man and daughter travelling through the snow to sell the tusks and then watching them sail off into the distance was the virus spreading out of Fortitude to the rest of the world. If so - it went on a bit didn't it.

How was that man from Donegal. The Donegal Road in Belfast perhaps.

Of course they're all going to go bonkers- the mammoth juice went down the drain.

On the plus side I now have a earworm of that Billy Bragg song- "Shirley -your sexual politics have left me all of a muddle" etc etc

Iggi999 · 17/03/2015 19:17

Can you imagine the mumsnet thread "my dd cut me open with a fork, AIBU to be angry with her?"

BernadetteMatthews · 17/03/2015 22:45

It's a bit odd.

ygritte · 17/03/2015 23:00

Did anyone else notice that Pettigrew's severed arm was handcuffed to a bar?

Brandysnapper · 18/03/2015 07:39

Yes he was left to be eaten I think. (But maybe he'd become evil and needed to be disposed of?)

NotPennysBoat · 18/03/2015 18:34

I'm loving this (the bits I can watch anyway!). Does anyone know how many episodes there are?

NadiaWadia · 19/03/2015 03:55

It started off like a normal police procedural, in an unusual setting. Then suddenly turned weird, and is getting weirder and weirder.

Re: the setting - If it is an island off the coast of Norway why do the majority of the population seem to be British or Irish (with some Russians)? Apart from the mayor, the teacher and the police staff. And why is it called 'Fortitude', wouldn't it have a Norwegian name?

CinnabarRed · 19/03/2015 13:56

12 episodes, I think.

It's set on an island owned by Norway, but with a mine owned by a Russian company and a British science research centre - hence the melting pot of nationalities.

NotPennysBoat · 03/04/2015 22:08

Anyone still watching?? Only one episode to go!! I am really enjoying watching it from behind a cushion mostly
