Went away for the weekend to visit family. I realised that I couldn't last a day without checking the thread and esp catching up with ff. I begged my MIL's tablet to 'read my emails' and disappeared upstairs to 'put the LO to bed.' Let's just say it took a while to settle her.

Rhubarb I'm so happy you're writing again. That's just made my day.

I've finally, finally finished with the smut today - feel like I need a stiff drink or something else stiff

I think we need to combine the AGM with a writers retreat. I've just spent my lunchbreak working on chapter 2 when I really should be preparing for my performance review.

Snap pixie, my appraisal form is open in another tab, although I'm not in the office. I really need to not type smut at the same time as thinking about performance review, that is not a safe way to work!

Having said that, I do have a team meeting tomorrow morning..

Woo hoo so glad there's even more ff to catch up on, can't wait for Jens for obvious reasons and Rhubarbs done more too? Lovely! threadneedle there's many a time I've had to resort to locking myself in the toilet to get some time to catch up on here and get away from pesky prying eyes. They never ask what I've been doing, however, and I never tell 'em either.

Like the idea of a Writers Corner at the AGM, but could we also have a Re-Enactment of Writers Corner Workshop opposite, with me on the door natch, for when we feel like testing out particular chapters of Jens, Twice Knightleys and Laurieloves masterpieces on the wrestlers (who will be warming up, so to speak, in the other corner). Merchandising and lingerie fitting could be in the far corner because of the length of queue.

Think we might gonna need a bigger room...

cjwoof so glad you are back!!!! I'd best help you in the workshop, seeing as I cant write ... and with that suggestion I now have absolutely no intention of writing, I think I'd be much better placed to help out with the re-enactment workshop :)
Gotta do the school run now, so will have to save the ff for later, but needless to say, I also have to lock myself away to be able to read in peace ... infact I think the kids may need half hour (or more?!) in front of the TV, so I can catch up on the ff for educational reasons, of course.

Thanks for the offer of help in the Workshop Nickel - some of the re-enacting may indeed require a double-hander, so assistance would be welcome just in case I was trying to juggle BOTH Strike Back Boys and Rupert and D'Artagnan appear with their extremely large clapperboards. Thinking about it, the Workshop could be a welcome diversion for all the MNers waiting in the queue for their lingerie fitting. We could set up a long line of metal queuing gates like at Disney Resort which feeds the queue into each corner of the room, thus easing the boredom of waiting 2-3 hours, before ending up in the wrestlng arena with RPJ serving drinks and RL Chris dispensing QFs.

Hmm, my extra special smut detector twitched to alert me that cjwoof was back in the room and talking of double handers. If there's any thrashing out of plot lines to be done, I'm volunteering my services. I'm sure Rupert is in need of a little light 'relief' after the angst of Homeland.

spo just brilliant. You finished it perfectly and actually, after laughing out loud as usual (flexing glove lingerie, CJ's inspired broadcast), I had a (sad)tear in my eye at the end. I do hope that after a well earned rest, you will revive the SZS at some point in the not too distant future. The world needs zomromcom!

Had a long afternoon doing inductions and I needed some respite after talking the same old stuff four times over. That was some respite! Can't wait to see what happens next.

onlygirlMNSL just what I needed to warm me up! My daughter came to talk to me just as I was about to get to the QS and I had to hurriedly switch tabs.. You really are our laureate of smut! Can't wait for the next chapter but also don't want it to end.

beingfrank have you read 'here's looking at you' by Mhairi McFarlane? The hero in that is called James (!) and the story pays a bit of a homage to Pride and Prejudice. It's a lovely escapist, feel good, curl up with some chocolate kind of read.
Yes, I've read that Louise Douglas book and it made me cry. I like all her books actually. They're a bit Maggie O' Farrel -ish.

Just popping back on to say thanks to you mad lot again and to the authors of the fff ( fantastic fanfic) for keeping me going through a rubbish week in RL.
On the plus side, RL CJ friend said waiting out at work!! Only beaten previously by us sniggering uncontrollably during full staff meeting when ditto was used.

SPO that last chapter was brilliant, so pleased you got our lingerie designs in!! I'm really going to miss the zombies, you have made me laugh SO much! You have been above and beyond brilliant with your writing and managing to include all of our idiosyncrasies!
