When TC was explaining the new way of the world to Percy in the tavern, I thought his facial expression - as he pondered one of Percy's response - was straight from the acting school of Detective Chief Superintendent Foyle toying - as he does - with a wrong un.

I would also rather do More. Not this More, or heretic torturing More, but daughter-educating, jamming-with-Erasmus, joking-on-the-scaffold, principled Paul Scofield More

OMG, yes. I loved that film, PS's More really is the cat's pyjamas.

I love Anton Lesser. But I wouldn't be in the least tempted to jump into bed with his TM.

Baddz · 05/02/2015 18:05

Jeremy northam made a hot TM In The Tudors :)

KatieScarlettreregged · 05/02/2015 18:05

More was horrible to his wife, didn't he only have one as his manly urges prevented him from joining the priesthood? He didn't care about her and loved to put her down.
I bet he was a crap shag. Ten seconds tops, then on his knees begging absolution followed by some recreational flagellation. Poor woman Smile

squoosh · 05/02/2015 18:06

I have no lust in my loins for the saintly one.

marshmallowpies · 05/02/2015 18:22

The chilling TC moment I loved last night was his words to George (?) Boleyn 'you'll regret you crossed me' or words to that effect. He can come across as sinister & threatening without being a thug!

AnneofCheese · 05/02/2015 18:28

Yes I liked that he made threats in a quiet conversational tone. Very clever. And he can always send Norfolk to bite Harry's bollocks off if needed.

KatieScarlettreregged · 05/02/2015 18:36

Was it George? I thought it was Brereton (as in the book), will have to watch it again as I'm really not sure.
Would have made sense if it was Brereton, he was a git who engineered the death of one of his enemies and his family were tyrants.
Hence the warning off of TC who was meddling in the affairs if his fiefdom.
George would be all wrong in that context but I really can't remember.

marshmallowpies · 05/02/2015 18:41

Katie you may be right, it was a room full of Howards and Boleyns so I assumed it was George! I read the book long enough ago that quite a bit of it is hazy now...

Baddz · 05/02/2015 18:43

It was George.
Yes, brereton was a bastard.
Where is John fisher???

KatieScarlettreregged · 05/02/2015 18:44

I may have read it a tad too many times... Blush

Baddz · 05/02/2015 18:59

Ah, sorry, I thought you meant in the hall!
I loved that scene...Norfolk and George and jane...
I thought that was Edward Seymour!
Think I need a re watch....:)

KatieScarlettreregged · 05/02/2015 19:23

I like the HM portrayal of Jane. An inept spy, the dog that Anne kicks, the object of TC affection (briefly) appears quite dim but is smarter than anyone thinks.
Can't wait to see how they introduce the Henry/Jane relationship. Wonder if it will be at a Wolf Hall when H8 visits.
(already gagging for the next episode) Grin

MuddhaOfSuburbia · 05/02/2015 19:31

that review's a bit

did s/he phone it in after watching with iPhone in one hand and bottle of red in tother, I wonder

KatieScarlettreregged · 05/02/2015 19:45
Grin Possibly after a restless night dreaming about being the meat in a H8/TC sandwich. (Or was that just me?) Blush
ToastBones · 05/02/2015 20:35

Not just you, Katie Blush

I liked Jenny from Luther as Elizabeth Barton and I keep thinking of More as Lucius Malfoy after he spat, "what are you doing listening to the conversations of gentlemen, Cromwell" last week.

marshmallowpies · 05/02/2015 20:42

Ah I knew I recognised her (the maid of Kent?) - she's from Luther?

ToastBones · 05/02/2015 20:51

That's the only other thing I've seen her in. I didn't recognise the name of the actress when I googled but she's been in Skins and Peaky Blinders as well.

MuddhaOfSuburbia · 05/02/2015 20:57

think Meg More is Tom Hiddleston's sister

I keep peering at her but can't get a good look in the gloom/under cumbersome Tudor headgear

perhaps they'll get some nice outdoor shots of her collecting her dad's head and taking it out and about in its box

AnneofCheese · 05/02/2015 21:03

squoosh · 05/02/2015 21:05

I think Mr More will be fine, he'll hightail it to Ibiza and set up a flagellating commune.

TheVestalVirgin · 05/02/2015 21:11

Have to agree that Rylance is too effete looking though that might be his ringlets. And he's too short and slightly built. Time and again HM describes Cromwell as looking physically threatening and with a scowling mien. Rylance's Cromwell looks disturbingly like Wayne Sleep.

ToastBones · 05/02/2015 21:15

Wayne Sleep Shock Sad
