I can think of worse people for her to fancy... Obviously takes after her mum and has excellent taste?

Icemist of course! I will worry if she starts watching the DVD on her own though. She has also got me into Divergent and Theo James as mentioned the other day. Can't remember who said he could pass for CJ's brother. So def has good taste.

WHAJEB1 · 13/01/2015 22:13

Oh god I'm a bit embarrassed!! But Persuading Charles is meBlush did post about 4 threads or so back but would always read back my posts and have a 'I carried the watermelons' moment!! Lurk everyday and often finding myself laughing at your antics but can never think of anything witty enough to keep up. Oh and I completely agree with your short list for fireside wrestling (esp RA) but couldn't quite get that to fit into the story. I would also like to say that without a word of a lie all my favourite ff writers are on here so to have you actually acknowledge my ramblings is an absolute delight. Just thought I should delurk for the night incase SPO was sitting somewhere apoplectic with rage that his work may have been confused with my error filled grammatically incorrect essay! I honestly proof read so many times because a their instead of a there and vice verse can really ruin a story for me and guess what I have a glaring few - must learn how to edit.

Regarding Candy, I just think that after all she has been through she could do with a giggle and some moral support from some lovely ladies!! Grin

Nickel45 · 13/01/2015 22:14

Congrats cherin, well done you :)

onefor my 4 year old insists on watching the start of Ep 3 every night before she goes to bed (she likes Molly). I'm such a woose ... I let her! (I figure 10 mins of CJ, I get peace and quiet .... When I say no, it's hours of crying ... She very stubborn! And needs less sleep than me, so I let her win that one .... And after all, it's 10 mins of CJ ....!!)

cherin · 13/01/2015 22:19

I said that, but I think we would all agree! Definitely excellent taste :-)
Yes the market was probably the borough one. Most places are overpriced and overdesigned but I can't help loving the variety of stuff on offer...from paella to pressed Kent apple juice, to Croatian sausages or Sardinian cheese, it's all there!
I was invited to a tour to the top of the shard under construction but by then I was 8months pregnant and I thought better not (have a certain familiarity with sites and sudden halt of goods lifts and having to climb 15-20 storeys up the service stairs...when not on aluminium cat ladder, like yesterday....)
The view from level 20 of nearby building is still comparably stunning, much better than the Gherkin if that's higher ;-) for some things, height or size really doesn't matter!

Wow whajeb, it's brilliant .... I loved your preface to chapter 3 too, hee hee! I have to say, from my point of view, the odd error isn't problem, it's when you are struggling to actually read it and work out what the words should be, that make it more difficult. I used to have to write reports for work, and I know how difficult it is to read your own writing and spot stuff too, I just think some of the authors might not read through before they post (I should probably hide about now!)
Thank you for fessing up ... Bet SPO is relieved we aren't going to start badgering him about it now Wink

Oneforthegirls · 13/01/2015 22:24

whajeb1 welcome, great work!
Cherin congrats on project. I'm pitching tomorrow for more work. I'm self employed so need this to happen.

Nickel45 · 13/01/2015 22:31

whajab so proud that you have included us :)

Richtea19 · 13/01/2015 22:33

Wow whajeb brilliant ff, amazing talent, it's like confession corner!

cherin sorry meant to say congrats on your project, I was thinking about the food at Borough! When we went there, DS1 had Churros, DS2 Cheesburger, DH Paella and I had some sort of Greek thing - brilliant place!

oneforthegirls good luck for tomorrow :)

cherin · 13/01/2015 23:01

whajeb just finished your ff, I really really liked it!! Great take on the stories, keep on writing please!

Maybe at some point we could organise a MN/OG meeting at borough market. Dress code: low slung combat trousers, headpiece and soft measuring tape. Does the Guy's Hospital have a psychiatric ward, you reckon??? :-)

cherin · 13/01/2015 23:02

Oh, Jen: if the pitch fails, you can always try with writing!!!! But I wish you best of luck for tomorrow!

orphan · 13/01/2015 23:02

Just been catching up on Broadchurch (thinking the first series must have been better cos this one seems a bit clichéd? Didn't watch the first one) and come back and the writer is revealed!

whajeb I've been saving yours to read for my bedtime treat and judging by others' comments it will be a treat!Smile

Being a greedy pig, I love food markets and am so pleased at the popularity of farmers' markets etc now. I like nothing more than a good wander and nibble of all the tasters. The Saturday food market on the Kings road is like a little version of Borough and is a great place for people (and handbag dog) watching!

cherin · 13/01/2015 23:06

(Ah, forgot to mention, I found it slightly hilarious but can't tell exactly why...the receptionists at the Shard lobby are all like models, but clones, all dressed with the same beautiful diagonal-cut dress, same hair, same glasses, jewellery etc. Made me think of the glorious times of flying in the 50-60s when hostesses were glamorous pin ups, a long way from my contemporary experience of cattle-class low-cost flying. Except that these girls work in an enormous, white, fully glazed reception lobby instead of a Boeing ;-) ah, the fun of London....)

orphan · 13/01/2015 23:18

whajeb just started reading your story but had to tell you I laughed out loud when I read the bit about CJ possibly being into cougars!! Grin
Right, back to reading...

Beingfrank · 13/01/2015 23:18

Moo - really sorry about your mum, and glad for her she slept through it.

Cherin - well done on your project, great news.

I went up the Shard with dd, ds1 and his French exchange student last spring. It was pricey (not much change out of £100) and someone said afterwards it might have been better to go for brunch in one of the restaurants? Great view though!

orphan · 14/01/2015 00:02

LOVE your ff whajeb! Persuasion is a favourite of mine anyway so to combine it with CJ is fab. The mention of Candy's infatuation and measuring tapes caused another laugh out loud. dp doesn't even bother to ask the reason why anymore as it's bound to be this thread related.Grin

orphan · 14/01/2015 00:10

Now we've cracked almost all the mysteries, we've still got the mysterious sender of the zombie homage photo to unveil, plus of course spo's identity... We need Scooby doo on the case.

orphan · 14/01/2015 00:16

Though of course, that would mean spo would turn out to be the janitor on OG but was disguised as Molly by wearing a mask. (Apologies to anyone who has never seen scoobydoo.) OK, clearly I need to go to bed... Night!

Ilovelblue · 14/01/2015 00:36

Hi whajeb and welcome to the madness that is all things CJ and OG! I just knew it had to be somebody who had read some of the stuff we talk about on here! I've loved it, especially as it's a different take on the storyline. Looking forward to your next chapter! I hope you will join us for our musings and general chit-chat about CJ and other things!

Had a very interesting evening at the jeweller's house with my Mum's rings. Got quite a shock as I also had my grandmother's wedding ring (on my Dad's side) as well as my Mum's wedding ring which had also belonged to her mother before her (she died when my Mum was eight). I thought they were both probably bought just after WW1, maybe 90-95 years old. It only turns out that one was 1809 and the other was 1869. I guess I will never know the history of either of them now although we had always assumed my grandma's ring (on my Dad's side) was probably second hand. I am keeping my Mum's wedding ring more or less as it is and having the diamonds from another ring set into it, then another ring plus the 1809 one remodelled into something else, probably a pendant. I was really impressed with him - wish I'd thought about doing it a little while back but finally made my mind up over Christmas.

Definitely time for bed now. What sort of confessions will crop up tomorrow I wonder? Think I am right in that all the ff we review positively is mainly from here. I think we just have the author of Five Years On to suss out now...?

icemistOBE · 14/01/2015 06:29

OMG Icemist if it's possible to laugh and cringe at the same time, I am at those photos. I need a full dose of CJ in the morning. It's going to be a tough day today and these have just upset my equilibrium.
He wouldn't look out of place in the Liberace movie with all that fur. I have just revised my previous 60/40 CJ/BA to 100% CJ.

icemistOBE · 14/01/2015 06:59

I had to post them! Not even the leather pants with belt can save him! He looks handsome but the clothes nah!
Bring back CJ

Anyway any picture of him is a good start to the day!

Ilovelblue · 14/01/2015 07:13

Oh dear Ben. You can do better for yourself than that! Come back to us......
