I don't get how Beth is still pregnant.

In series 1 she tells the vicar she is pregnant the day after Danny's body is found, and says she is 5 (or maybe 8) wks gone. So that was July. It looked like a summers day for the court scenes. By my reckoning, if she was 8wks preg in July she should be giving birth in February??

I thought s2 was 6mths on

We know s1 is June/July as of sports day so should be feb Ish

Recently watch S1. Thought it was amazing and each episode was brilliant. They gave nothing away tho and so it was really hard to figure out who the murderer was. At one point I was convinced it was Danny's dad.

S2 ep1 not as gripping. The whole barrister thing was obvious. Of course she was going to be talked I to representing them.

He was and forever will be, poor sod Rory in Dr Who.
Yes, was funny in S1 when we were calling him vicar Rory.
Nothing could live up to S1, and the music was disappointing, why couldn't they have kept that haunting music?
Lots of good parts for women in this series, but is all a bit of a jumble chucking everything in and with all the CPS nonsense, shame because they could have just had those same two women barristers but made it happen plausibly.
Will keep watching because OC, DT and ?Beth? are such watchable actors.

It all feels a bit more uneven this time, doesn't it? It was so cliched when they were trying to persuade Charlotte to take the case. Of course she's going to take it. You don't hire an acting legend to say 'no' a few times and disappear from the rest of the series!

The exhumation irritated me and Ellie randomly shacking up with someone involved in a murder case, and taking her baby along Saying all of that, I still found myself getting sucked in and I was surprised when the final credits rolled as I didn't realise I'd been watching for that long.

Here's hoping the cliches and errors settle down this week because the cast is absolutely amazing, and deserves something wonderful although I'd watch them in anything as they are so good .

I'm a complete newbie and didn't watch s1. Am i right in thinking Joe wad secretly meeting Danny? Why did he kill him? Why is dannys dad now meeting another boy?

I expected huge things but tbh i found the first episode lacklustre. It was obvious Charlotte would take the case, the court scene was ott, the exhumation was just bizarre as was lee stood on the hill starting down at dt but the funniest of all was ellie just randomly staying over with Claire and keeping her baby there too!

I can't stop watching now though. And I'm just in complete awe of the location. Absolutely breathtaking.

Yep, Joe was meeting Danny for hugs. Danny decided he didn't want to meet anymore and iirc threatened to leave the hut they were meeting in and tell everyone. Joe panicked and held him against the wall, accidentally strangling him.

Danny's dad is now meeting Tom (who is Joe and Ellie's son and was Danny's friend). We don't know why. It's setting up a possible paedophile ring story again or they're just meeting because one has lost his son and one has lost his father.

It showed them having a long hug and 'hugs' was all that Joe admitted to doing. It was a pretty uncomfortable scene. Joe gave Danny money too and a mobile phone so they could keep in touch.

Late to this but quite enjoyed it, although forgot some of the actors / accents a bit rubbish. Who is the woman who was Tanya's sister in Eastenders - what is her character, i don't remember her at all. This may well have been said up thread but I think at this point it's Claire (is that her name, the witness protection woman) murdered the girls in the original case, I may well be wrong on this, I very often am in these matters.

"Tanya's sister" is Ellie's sister, and the young jouno's mum.

Also she saw Joe stuffing something into a wheelie bin on the night of the murder, although she only told Ellie to get a loan and has not made a formal statement.

I think paedophile ring and the vicars in on it.
