It was 9pm last time, but they thought it would be 8pm, that's why they've hotted it up (is that a phrase?) this time around.

We asked Tom about the change to Friday and he was dismissive of it, saying "Does it matter, there's iPlayer". Maybe he was just defending his employer, which was noble of him, but yes, I think it does matter, particularly when it's up against a well-established show.

Fancy I think you need to download. I've got 4 devices to put it on, and they're going to be on continually!

Really, though, 5,000 people being representative of a country with a population of over 60 million. It's crazy. Angry

Off to do a re-watch to calm me down.

Flopsy28 · 03/01/2015 19:44

Evening all. But piddled as FIL and his partner have taken the DC off our hands for the night. Went to local pub for tea and may have accidentally drunk 3 pints of Fosters Grin

DH now knows he's on to a winner Fo Sho! I have (obviously) kept ep 1 on sky planner but no idea when I can rewatch. Dare I suggest it as foreplay?

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 03/01/2015 19:52

Hell yes Flops!

it worked for Lyndie Grin

LetUsPrey · 03/01/2015 19:53

Go for it Flopsy!

Sparkle - I think I've retweeted the right thing.

FancyFancy · 03/01/2015 19:59

Right, download it is (I didn't do that earlier when I was conducting important research on the well scene Wink ), thanks apricot. If it doesn't matter how many downloads are made to the same IP address I might just dig out every defunct device I can find in this house. DD will download it on her computer too with little persuasion needed.

I agree, 5,000 households seems such a tiny percentage.

flopsy, I'm pretty sure that episode would work well as foreplay, go for it Grin

BloodyElkFire · 03/01/2015 20:02

Hmm Apes, maybe he was defending the Beeb, but according to that painful Sunday Brunch Interview he only ever watches telly on iplayer, and does't have a working telly.

Maybe a lot of people don't watch programmes in their original time slot, but they have to know the programme exists in the first place and a lot of that has to do with when it airs. There are certain nights in the week when, for various reasons I pay more attention to what's on the telly. But the fact that it has hardly been advertised must have hurt the viewing figures.

I can't belieeeeeeve the poor job they've done of promoting the show, especially considering how much money must have been ploughed into making it. I do hope this won't have a negative effect on the decision to go for S3.

LetUsPrey · 03/01/2015 20:05

The pre-reviews IYSWIM it got were all good. The write up in the Radio Times for the first two episodes was excellent. But yy to what everywench has said, the BBC just don't seem to have really pushed it out there.

ChaiseLounger · 03/01/2015 20:07

Foreplay? Ha ha flops.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/01/2015 20:56

Wanders in...

....

LeapingOverTheWall · 03/01/2015 21:06

Amusingly DH seems to feel a little bit threatened and becomes all masterful any time MW is on the Telly, so it's a bit of a win win situation Wink

Although as it was (counts on fingers, shakes head, that can't be right surely?) twenty five years ago, I'm not sure what there is to feel threatened about...

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 03/01/2015 21:30

I've googled reviews. They are all pretty positive bar one I think ( But it can get all the good reviews in the world, unless their faces are out there either on chat shows or in trailers, the public at large AREN'T GOING TO KNOW IT'S ON Hmm

'Kin ell fancy how long have you lurked for?! (Knowledge of tavern bar stock)

leaping - Grin at your dh knowing youve boffed mw!

Right - going for a rewatch...

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 03/01/2015 21:47

I am squueeeeing at Luca's answer here in their Radio Times interview! CAN YOU IMAGINE?!

^Has playing D’Artagnan made you braver?
It’s funny you should ask that, because we were having dinner in Prague during filming and heard shouting at the other end of the restaurant, and Santiago, Howard, Tom and I all jumped up! These big dudes were fighting in the corner. That instinct to get involved is definitely there now. Did we actually get involved? No!^

Mrs Beee: find that restaurant Grin

FancyFancy · 03/01/2015 21:48

don't question it leaping, just work it to your advantage

I know sparks, I've seen trailers for other programmes, but have only seen the Musketeers trailer once.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 03/01/2015 21:55

Evening Smile

I actually got the Couchturner thingy working after some time with an enlarged screen also, not to bad quality either, so looks like I don't have to wait until the DVD arrives after all.

Thanks for the suggestions Wenches Smile

Have any of you tried watching shows on Project Free TV? I can't get it to work, it's a bloody nightmare with ads popping up etc. Confused

FancyFancy · 03/01/2015 21:55

can't remember madame, I saw some old threads as when I finally watched s1 I went looking for the MN reaction Grin I then lurked on and off before finally diving in

MiladyBeaWinter · 03/01/2015 22:05

evening, might have just finished up a Rewatch with DH. It doesn't appear to work as foreplay with everyone Flops

Can you remember way back when they first started filming some actor tweeting about being in Ep1 and then a picture of him in costume and one of Prague at sunset? The costume one got taken down very quick (JessP on the ball) but we did big speculation about who he played, was he Duke of Buckingham yada yada etc? Well I found out why no one else at all picked up on him, spotted him in the Rewatch. He had 1 line, 1 bloody line. He announced the Spanish Ambassador in court. Talk about overplaying your hand. They only reason I've not sought him out and twatted him is that his black clothes (followed quickly by the promo shot of Queeny in black flashing her legs) made us guess re Cardinals funeral. But really

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 03/01/2015 22:14
