sadly my work as present is other people's tax returns, thankfully I don't have to do one for myself. But it is a total lack of cooperation between HMRC, the Govt and the BBC to have deadlines at the same time as decent TV, and it's just not good enough .

I'm another one with piles of crap scattered about the place. I have a pot on the worktop, a drawer in dining room and I find the fruit bowl is very handy. Current contents of my fruit bowl = 4 bananas, 2 apples, a bracelet, a tumble dryer ball thingy, some yo yo bear treasure cards, Tesco coupons, a memory stick, a hot wheels car, 2 crayons, an post office proof of posting and a biro. Now I've looked I have to clean it out don't I?

Remember hot electrician and my smutty thoughts about getting his firm to do the contract? I had to meet up today to go through the inspection report and work needed. Was very much looking forward to it, Well turns out hot electrician is not actually the hot electrician who owns the business. He was actually hot apprentice who works for the hot electrician, which explains the youthfulness and eyes. Hot electrician who owns the business turned out to be short fat balding (yet still with a big grey wiry mullet) electrician. Very nice and competent, but not pervable at all . So totally not FME.

Oh MrsB - how disappointing re. the NOT Hot Electrician. Made me laugh that did.

Have you been blown away yet (I'm talking about the weather now, just to clarify!) or is it not too bad?

It was awful overnight, really bad. Bridges closed, rail suspended. We got 40mph with gusts of up to 60mph so not as bad as elsewhere. I'd taken down hanging baskets, put breeze blocks in front of shed doors etc and battened everything down so it was a noisy night but no damage thankfully. Our walls are a couple of foot thick so would take a bit to do anything major.

Lyndie and Malc probably had it worse. Hope they are ok.

Weather here rather urgh, luckily got the dognto out before the rain came. Don't think she'll be up for venturing out for most of the weekend by the looks of the forecast.

Hope you're feeling better Helen - and a general Get Well Soon to all ailing wenches and their families. There does seem to be a lot of lurgy around at the moment.

We're a group of very similar women, scarily similar. We are all pretty much know our own minds and we speak them. And imo the thread and Inn is all the better for it. I'd hate it if we all started second guessing and stepping carefully round each other. Plus Drink would never manage it
