Evening wenchi, it's taken me over an hour to catch up so have RBRL.

Been a long two days, my hip is giving me right grief. Not sure if it's the weather, returning to work or what. FMBH

I found the Cardinal v musketeers getting too samey and essentially they were on the same side

Rochefort however has the makings of a more complex character and more sustainable relationship with the musketeers (from a potential storylines pov).

We might never be truly sure who's side he is on, what his agenda is ( apart from suspecting that it is his own self-serving agenda)- and tbh it can be anything the writers choose it to be week to week, because he has already shown himself to be both a crosser and double-crosser, so they are free to make him whatever he needs to be in any given week and any storyline.

Already, Athos owes him one ( so to speak!) - he saved his life and I can see at some point in the future Athos' compassion/integrity (call it what you will) being put on the line and feeling compelled to return the favour......

So I think there is scope for clever writing and character development.....should the writers choose to take it.

By the way, I do watch for the plot...and the castles. of course.

Kate I do agree ref writers and opportunities with Roche. I also thought that with the Athos thank you for saving my life but also was thinking 'seeing as he had to say shoot damn you quite a lot does he suspect he's dodgy but is choosing to show him deference etc' dunno. This is poss to much.
