Earplugs and cheese board, 'Allo 'Allo style, available on request.

Here's the list.

Tonight’s X Factor 2014 songlist – Week 8 / Jukebox songs

Andrea Faustini
Hero – Mariah Carey
Chandelier – Sia

Lauren Platt
Don’t You Worry Child – Swedish House Mafia
Clarity – Zedd

Stereo Kicks
Run – Leona Lewis
Just The Way You Are – Bruno Mars

Ben Haenow
Thinking Out Loud – Ed Sheeran
Come Together – The Beatles

Fleur East
If I Ain’t Got You – Alicia Keys
A Fool In Love – Tina Turner

They have decided to make Pugsy as predictable as they can, haven't they? Sad

And Run is NOT by Leona Lewis, and her version of the song wasn't so far from the original that the song gets to be credited to her, ffs.

I'm debating putting my tree up. Not really got time on Monday- I like to have it up by the 1st. Grin

runs in case Maryz is lurking

See y'all later.

They always credit run to Leona bloody lewis. It annoys me every time.

I may be especially acerbic tonight as the cashier in sainsbos refused to sell me any wine (flattering as it is to them I might perhaps not look 25, I certainly do. And the 14 year old calling me 'mum' should probably be a clue that I am old, as should the unbelievably dull stuff I buy). And the feta I bought to go in tonight's dinner is all manky.

Two songs each might send me over the edge.

Frozenchipsareawful · 29/11/2014 17:55

Simon likes to make sure we know he discovered Leona! However, after making her christmas album last year, she hasnt done much at all. I preferred snow patrols version of Run. Think Pugs will be out this week. I had to spotify the Sia song, sounds very dull. Someone Sones last year did dont you worry, think he got the push pretty soon after!

CalamitouslyWrong · 29/11/2014 17:58

I agree. The pugsy song choice looks like more of the same tedious warbling.

My dinner was inferior, since I had no wine to put in the sauce and no feta to crumble over it at the end. I had to improvise with cheddar, which wasn't quite the same. I holds sainsbury's entirely responsible for my disappointing tea.

RudolphUcker · 29/11/2014 18:04

TWO songs

Frozenchipsareawful · 29/11/2014 18:10

Cala, no wine is awful shame you couldnt go elsewhere to buy some! Going to be a long night...

Raahh · 29/11/2014 18:12

cal- that's terrible! No wine!

I was feeling festive, as I put up my tree. But then all the cleaning up and having to move furniture pissed me off.

But i now have mulled wine and mince pies, so I don't care anymore Grin

I'm considering walking round to Asda and finding the youngest looking cashier. The young ones never fail to recognise that I am, in fact, old. Or I might send DH take ID.

Two songs with no wine may be too much for me. Grin

Raahh · 29/11/2014 18:15

I do wonder what Leona is up to these days, and whether Simon really bothers much with her. After all, he has the Wandies now, he doesn't need her. She had a Christmas album/single last year, maybe she will re-release it.

The songs Lamenting Lozza is singing will really not make her sound any less morose.

Raahh, very organised with the tree ! I treated myself to some naice mince pies today for tonights song fest. I am hoping to actually learn the names of some of year 9 - its been on for 3 months and still none the wiser..

CalamitouslyWrong · 29/11/2014 18:19

We're not putting our tree up until the 12th. Luckily we have a big, empty bay so there's no furniture moving required to put it up. My favourite bit of the whole process is going to pick a tree and then coming home to decorate it. I've promised DS2 that he can choose some lovely new ornaments for it (ours are all old, cheap and quite dull) this year.

Frozenchipsareawful · 29/11/2014 18:22

Never heard of Zedd ( am old) never have trouble buying wine!

RudolphUcker · 29/11/2014 18:31

Mine is up. YEAH.
Year nine did a thing on some programme this week (the one show? Something godawful) where the XF house 'donated' to a food bank. Only year nine were evident, perving at Sarah Harding.

Raahh · 29/11/2014 18:33

I'm not usually organised - i just like having the tree upGrin It hides dh at his desk the crap in the cornerGrin

Stupidly, when we replaced out tatty sofa in the summer, I allowed myself to be swayed into keeping the old 2 seater which was in ok condition. It is in the exact spot the tree goes. We tried an alternative- I felt like I was in 'DAy of the Triffids' and was going to be eaten by the tree. So, moving everything round was the only way.

My last remaining pre-dc glass bauble has bitten the dust.

Everything now is shatterproof, or made of felt or woodGrin

RudolphUcker · 29/11/2014 18:41

Mine just attempted some sort of carpet bowls with my glass baubles.
Another soldier down

Frozenchipsareawful · 29/11/2014 18:44

I dread to think what a crowd of teenage boys would 'donate ' ! Given up on the one show, alex's hair annoys me and matt baker is so on edge the whole time i get anxious just watching.

RudolphUcker · 29/11/2014 18:52

I don't watch it either, so I don't know how I saw that piece! Might not have even been the one show. It was Sarah Harding collecting for foodbanks from slebs. the only XFites allowed were the Year Nine Wankers, I didn't see what they donated. Half a tube of Pringles?

Frozenchipsareawful · 29/11/2014 18:57

Oh, its the good morning britain xmas appeal i think. I dont tend to watch but caught a bit the other day with someone in a foodbank. Missed yr 9.

chockbic · 29/11/2014 19:00

Will there be a flying helmet and celery involved?

I can see Pugsy in suspenders actually. Might liven things up.

RudolphUcker · 29/11/2014 19:02

Ah, quite possibly. Though I wasn't aware I watched that either!

CalamitouslyWrong · 29/11/2014 19:14

Glass baubles. How sophisticated. I've never had a Christmas tree with glass baubles. And DS2 won't be choosing any, obviously. His tastes to the gaudy in general, and anything involving animals.

I bet the others thought it wouldn't matter if they went along, so long as Y9 went, because people would simply assume that the crowds of people on screen were all the contestants.

Frozenchipsareawful · 29/11/2014 19:20

Our baubles came from Woolworths, early nineties. Classy. I guess year 9 are just rent a crowd.. Available for anything media related, parties, etc. probably not that expensive either...

Tiredemma · 29/11/2014 19:48

I love Chandelier - I dont need to see cum faces to it though.

CalamitouslyWrong · 29/11/2014 19:50

I just googled chandelier. Eurgh. It's exactly what I hate most in contemporary music, not least because it's got every awful voice effect going added to it.

Raahh · 29/11/2014 19:52

My glass baubles were probably for the 70's. Elf and safety was not big in the 70's. I suspect my mother gave them me -she changes her bauble theme/Christmas dinner table theme ever other year. Can't be arsed with that and can't afford to myself. Grin
