Sadly I have to agree that the clips would probably only be for our own virtual award ceremony as I can't see OG making the BAFTAS although maybe some of the technical work could be praised. We have mentioned the lighting and camera work a few times. It looks good to me but I'm not really qualified to judge.

galaxy99 · 25/11/2014 22:49

monopod loved your fan fiction.

firegirl you never know, OG viewers maybe smaller in number than we'd like but we more than make up for that with our high levels of dedication.

Richtea19 · 25/11/2014 22:51

Isn't there a TV awards? Maybe OG would be more suited to that ceremony rather than the BAFTAs, can you imagine LT, aka Eastender fame collecting an award from Dame Judy Dench!!

Perhaps we should write into This Morning, they seem to pick up on these "human interest" (mad hardcore MN women and SPO) stories.

They might feel sorry for us!

Nickel45 · 25/11/2014 22:52

Only 140 characters! That would screw with SPO's stats ... Not sure any of us could manage that! We'd have a new thread every other day!!

I hope the relentless barrage from the FB lot does make the BBC think that they are never doing a series 2 ... as they couldn't face that again! I am in two minds about series 2, as I know lots of you are, but if TG could do another series as good as the last one, I'm there! I do feel sorry for TG (and whoever else is being bombarded), if it was me, I'd change my account name (or whatever it's called!).

Ilovelblue · 25/11/2014 22:53

When you talk about the Facebook lot, do you mean the open one or the OG Anonymous? I think we on here come across as a pretty intelligent bunch, albeit obsessed. The FB crowd aren't doing drawings, graphs, spreadsheets, creative writing..........

Richtea19 · 25/11/2014 22:57

It's the FB anonymous group. I have left that group as found it quite dull, not like you lot!!! For some reason, I don't know why (icemist would know as she is very technical) but the anonymous come up on Twitter?

I've noticed that Tony Grounds hasn't tweeted much recently , bet he is fed up!

firegirl · 25/11/2014 22:57

The winch is a good one cherin but they'd have to edit out all the swearing. I'm wondering if the "trying to ID Badrai in the compound" bit and then getting punched by his son while bossman looks on furious and concerned might be a possibility? Rhubarb has upped the ante with the various categories though, so will have to keep thinking!
Have just tried to look at that petition, looks like they've only got 57 signatures which is hardly ground breaking for the BBC to sit up and take notice.

Richtea19 · 25/11/2014 22:59

That would be another good graph for SPO, how many RL friends we have that have watched OG and out of those who watched it more than once. Out of RL friends and family, I have 2 friends that watched it. Both of which said it was ok!!! Can you believe it????

pixieg1rl · 25/11/2014 23:00

I was putting in some hardcore research with episode 4 this evening when DH asked how many times we'd watched OG. Is it 4 times? Are you getting obsessed?

he doesn't know the half of it. I'm not obsessed until he finds me hiding in the wardrobe sniffing an army surplus top I've doused in aftershave and clutching a photo of CJ and his low slung trousers. Which probably isn't far off.

Richtea19 · 25/11/2014 23:01

Will have to have a think about clips for the awards ceremony. That will give me some nice thought while a try to go to sleep. That's why I don't sleep well, too much action going on in my thoughts ;)

orphan · 25/11/2014 23:01

Am in complete awe (and envy) at the writing talent on display here. monopod that was fab and loved the way you wove Cherin's lines in. Am so pleased you came up with the ideas of writing our own fanfic. I say 'our' because even though I haven't contributed I feel very territorial over it!!

Richtea19 · 25/11/2014 23:03

Me too Orphan. I feel desperately proud of all the contributors!

Richtea19 · 25/11/2014 23:05

I would never attempt to write anything. If I did it would be complete filth! All those wicked thoughts I have about CJ...

firegirl · 25/11/2014 23:08

You lot are all busy tonight, every time I have a few minutes out to type something I'm about 4 posts behind. I agree with everyone who's said FB group come across as dull, our posts on here are much more intelligent, and we can do profound or witty in equal measure (to high standards).
I also have 2 RL friends who watched OG, both stopped halfway through, one cos she got "busy" (huh?) and the other because CJs unprofessional behaviour towards Molly annoyed her and put her off him (double huh?)!

Rhubarb01 · 25/11/2014 23:11

I mentioned this thread to my mum at the weekend. In fact I've been pretty open with my nearest and dearest about the sorts of things we get up to on here even told them that CJ had been a strong part of the attraction for many. They don't seem bothered. (Actually, I'm beginning to wonder if they care about me?)

I asked my mum if she'd watched OG and got the response,

"I've heard of it, was it that army thing?"
Yes I replied,
"No, I didn't watch that!"

Mind you she doesn't really fit into the 18-25 target age group any more than I do! I just laughed and told her she was a perfect example of why we all go on this thread, to talk to the twenty or thirty other people who actually watched it!

SPOfficer · 25/11/2014 23:12

Good workmono! galaxy 99 so many clips to choose from! They always end up showing a random clip at award ceremonies and I often wonder how they choose them. My vote would be for one of the excellent you tube compilations of all the CJ/MD best bits.

firegirl · 25/11/2014 23:13

Like to add I'm really proud of everyone too. I've been pleasantly surprised at all the types of talent being showcased over the past few weeks but the fan fic has been above and beyond Smile

orphan · 25/11/2014 23:15

richtea you've got double the number of friends who watched it than I have! The one friend of mine who did thought it was good but for some unfathomable reason didn't seem infatuated with CJ (and had only watched it once!). I feel like I'm a member of a secret club as I can't talk about it at all to my RL friends, which is a real pity as one of my best friends usually shares my tastes in actors! (Oh that makes me sound really lechy...Hmm)

cherin · 25/11/2014 23:15

pixiegirl I can't laugh that loud, I'll wake the kids up!!! Geee, you made me cry ;-)

firegirl, only today I mentioned apparently decent people who hide dark secrets...your RL friends are clearly weird....

monopod · 25/11/2014 23:16

I've got a silly grin going on here; chuffed that you like the piece I posted! Thank you; I really enjoyed writing it and might try more now.
waves at cherin* * I really liked what you wrote and thought it would give some continuity too :)

richtea you should feel free to contribute something a touch racier; I don't think I could (it shocked me to even see myself typing 'fuck', though brilliantly liberating) but I have no objection to reading it Grin

I recommend this fanfic if anyone wants a bit more escapism tonight! m.fanfiction.net/s/10848852/1/4-Times-He-Wanted-To-The-1-Time-He-Did

orphan · 25/11/2014 23:17

richtea I'd like to read your stories then...Grin

firegirl · 25/11/2014 23:24

cherin aren't they just. How right you were.
pixie the sad thing is I actually REALLY want that army top so I can sit around hugging it but obviously wouldn't want DH to know! Unfortunately can't see any way round that problem so will have to do without. (Buying it in secret and then hiding it only to be brought out when DH leaves the house seems like taking it a bit too far...or does it?!)
monopod thanks for the new link, gonna try that one tonight (not might, definitely)

monopod · 25/11/2014 23:30

Right, bed for me! Goodnight everyone and see you tomorrow morning. I love all of you crazy, exuberant, like-minded people :)

monopod · 25/11/2014 23:34

Oh wait, I forgot that I wanted to share my triumph because this evening I got speedy co-operation from my two littlies like never before; I told them that I really liked a keen and eager soldier and lo and behold, two keen and eager soldiers were ready for teeth brushing. I also got "yes bosswoman" and into bed with no fuss. See, OG is also good for parenting skills.

And with that, I bid you goodnight.

orphan · 25/11/2014 23:34

I wish there were big posters of CJ we could get - you know the sort of poster I had as a hormonal teen. Now that I'm a hormonal middle aged woman I could do with a massive CJ looking down at me from the wall.Smile
