Sorry, those two boxes were meant to be Hmm

stressybird · 30/11/2014 15:35

ILove Sorry to hear about work colleagues comments and as you know, completely understand how you feel. I Suppose in a way, I did 'tackle' the person, albeit on here, but it seems to have worked. I've since nipped any more comments in the bud by basically telling people that yes, I do contribute to a thread and yes, I do have a possibly unhealthy obsession with OG, but as I keep saying, it's hurting no one and has kick started other bits of my life.

Anyway, I have nothing to add that others haven't already advised. I def think it sounds like a touch of jealousy. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having a laugh and getting on well with your work colleagues, regardless of gender. I have met some great friends of both sexes through work, have some hilarious, purely platonic laughs with a few of the blokes I come into contact with. We are all adults, we spend enough time with workmates, so why the hell not! So chin up, see where it goes and if comments continue, I would politely but firmly nip any gossip in the bud xx

Fab photo cherin, made me laugh.

Had a lovely day with DS at our local Xmas town market and lights yesterday and you guessed it, there were stags galore everywhere!

pixieg1rl · 30/11/2014 17:14

I've been doing Christmas crafts with DS today; above and beyond given the 4 hours sleep I got last night.

Richtea19 · 30/11/2014 17:24

I survived the family birthday do, maybe it was the Stag pants giving me a warm feeling or perhaps the champagne!

Subject turned to talking about The Fall, which led me swiftly on to casually saying "did anyone watch OG?" DH was out of the room, I wouldn't have dared say anything he was there! My sister in law did, and agreed how handsome CJ is. Hooray at last I found someone, RL and a family member. I proceeded to tell her about the carol concert etc at which stage she looked rather bewildered, I decided not divulge the MN forum. This is still my guilty pleasure and Incognito life!!

Smurfingreat · 30/11/2014 17:33

New Klipdoctor guys, alternative ending to Episode 4. First chapter here is great.

Nickel45 · 30/11/2014 18:09

Just been at a show, the actors came on with their hands in their vests a la CJ, there were welsh accents and a stag (well, a reindeer that looked more like a stag) and the lead actor was tall and called Ben (couldn't really see what he looked like, I was at the back and eye sight not that good!). Honestly, how an i supposed to get decompression when there are reminders everywhere?!?

BrodiesBabe · 30/11/2014 18:16

HA!! You're still at it! I've missed you! Vol 5???? Wow - seriously impressed. I am so sorry to have vanished for a while - life, work, kids conspired to whisk me away. That doesn't mean I haven't been continuing to dream about CJ far more than I should. I've read as much as I can of your brilliant threads - LOVE the limericks and the various fan fic. (Always good to write fan fic ... maybe I should try it sometime ... Wink )

icemist · 30/11/2014 18:17

Ooh that was a brilliant one from Klipdoctor. I am enjoying these stories that are not following the masses.

Is everyone happy for ours to be published? It seems easy enough from what I've read so far. Just need some titles and an author name.

Smurfingreat · 30/11/2014 18:17

Welcome back Brodies!

Nickel45 · 30/11/2014 18:22

Really difficult to think of of a name for our fanfic (I say "our" having not contributed at all, but feel very protective of it!). Reckon it should have something about stags or measuring tapes? What about the staglets? The SPO's zombie fic could be SPO and the staglets ... Or maybe that's just too much like a dire 80s band! Been a long weekend...!

SPOfficer · 30/11/2014 18:26

Ok inspired by cherins photo, may I suggest a caption competition this evening? Found this one on the BBC website that might have some potential!

Ilovelblue · 30/11/2014 19:13

Nickel I promised I would write the author's (or in our case authors') notes for the first two fanfics but I've not really been in the frame of mind so far. I will do it though tonight, I absolutely promise. I just wasn't sure whether we are saying it's a collective effort or whether we pretend it's one person.

I wondered about "The CJ Collective" as one option or maybe "Stags and Does" .

Does anyone have a view?

Also, thank you to everyone who has offered sympathy and advice over my obsessive colleague at work. I will go in armed (or maybe that should be "bottomed") with my Tesco stag pants tomorrow and see if I have to tell her to go off and obsess about somebody or something else!

icemist · 30/11/2014 19:24

I like CJ Collective

OP posts:
SPOfficer · 30/11/2014 19:34

Happy with CJ Collective as well.

Ilovelblue · 30/11/2014 19:42

OK, give me a while and I will try and come up with some words. SPO not sure I can come up with anything for your stuff - zombies aren't really my line. I think you will have to write the blurb for your superb piece yourself. Is that ok?

pixieg1rl · 30/11/2014 19:52

May I suggest "Ben Aldridge prepares to meet mumsnetters at charity Christmas concert", for a caption SPO

SPOfficer · 30/11/2014 19:55

No problem ilove will pull something together.

pixie nice one!

cherin · 30/11/2014 19:56

CJ collective sounds excellent to me!

Kids' virus strikes back. Am down with bad cold. And I fear we may have spread it to not one, but two families of friends. Oh,how I hate the feeling of guilt, at the end of an otherwise lovely week end :-(

Off to some hot milk, and klipdoctor!

SPOfficer · 30/11/2014 20:35

ilove how's this? Happy for anyone to suggest additions/ amendments. Not done one if these before!

Great characters and stories are able to move effortlessly between genres. To prove this point the CJ collective has created the following zomromcom which relates the untold events of the night following episode 3 of Our Girl. We sincerely hope Tony Grounds will forgive us for what we have done to his creations and that he realises our motives are grounded in a sincere love and respect for his work.

You will find that this story has been written with tongue firmly in cheek and we hope it makes you laugh. There are a number of in jokes which those of you who are following the mumsnet OG/CJ thread will understand. If you are not following that thread then stop reading this and go find it! We think its one of the best things on the internet!

Ilovelblue · 30/11/2014 20:39

SPO you're on a roll! Excellent. I'm still putting a couple of things on eBay so mine may be later on this evening. I keep getitng interrupted!

I think we have to say that the characters are the rights of Tony Grounds and the BBC, don't we? That's what the others largely seem to say.

icemist · 30/11/2014 20:54

Great spo

my understanding is you have to state that Iloveblue

orphan · 30/11/2014 20:57

pixie that's a brilliant caption! Made me laugh thinking that's what we've driven BA to wear to protect himself from our ravenous clutches!Grin

SPO I've been reading your zombie fic again and wondering whether your friends, family and work colleagues realise what a fantastic writer you are? I don't know what your job is, but I really hope it utilises your writing talent otherwise it's going unnoticed and to waste!

cherin hope you're feeling better soon. (A medicinal splash of brandy and some honey in your hot milk is in order)

Richtea19 · 30/11/2014 21:04

SPO great I intro, you really are a truly fab writer.
CJ Collective is great name.
Pixie I love your caption, so apt! Sorry I can't think of anything, my brain is fragged tonight.
Cherin I hope you are feeling ok :( you need a huggable hottie in bed with you. Wrap up warm and snuggle down.

Richtea19 · 30/11/2014 21:06

ilove good luck tomorrow at work. Be strong!

cherin · 30/11/2014 21:27

Huggable hottie!! Why did I not think about it?? I have, instead resorted to desperate measures (no strong alcohol in the house, but for a bottle if Pelinkovac, the Croatian version of Jaegermeister. Definitely doesn't go with milk!!)
I warmed up a bit of port with some mulled-wine spices. It's probably an heretic thing to do, but it may have just done the trick. Bzzzzzzzz....have a very good night....
