Edwina went on, and on, and on, and was so bloody patronising. I'm glad kendra spoke up, a shyer person might have just been upset in quiet.

bobbyjoe · 24/11/2014 22:09

She refused to see what Kendra was talking about - I got it as did others. Edwina just loves the sound of her own voice, like a lot of politicians, and she thought she could run rings round Kendra with her superior debating skills. Well Kendra quite rightly put her in her place. Edwina wasn't even in the discussion. She could have joined it nicely with some sensitivity but she did it in such a way she got Kendra's back up. Yes, Kendra is a mother but we don't know anymore than Edwina does what her circumstances are. Maybe she needs money and 3 weeks away was the best thing for the whole family. None of our or Edwina's business. Things aren't that black and white and Edwina who thought she could show case her oratory got nipped in the bud.

Harrin · 24/11/2014 22:12

Just watching the ITV2 show. Edwina likens Kendra to a fascinating zoo attraction. Then backtracks saying it's mean. Bit late for that then...

PeaStalks · 24/11/2014 22:12

Never in a million years thought I would be on the Edwina Curry camp. What vile abuse from Kendra.

bobbyjoe · 24/11/2014 22:15

I think Kendra would have responded the same to anyone that had approached it the way Edwina did. I actually quite like that about Kendra - there doesn't seem to be a side to her. I don't think she's that calculating. I think she's pretty much what you see is what you get whereas Edwina has more twists and turns to her than most people - something she's practically admitted, her being a politician. She's mentioned more once than the tricks she does to get her way.

Harrin · 24/11/2014 22:17

I agree bobby

NoArmaniNoPunani · 24/11/2014 22:17

I thought Edwina was really unnecessarily nasty. No one has a go at men when they leave their kids to go into the jungle.

LouMum14 · 24/11/2014 22:17

Edwina is such a bullshitting hypocrite. Who the hell did she think of before publishing her tell tale book about shagging John Major? Her family? His wife? His kids? Hers? Hmmm. Absolute tripe, butting into something she didn't have a full grasp on. Kendra and her have a completely different intelligence and debating ability, and Kendra exploded because of this but Edwina knew that, she is a very clever, conniving piece of work. She is getting bored, under stimulated and looking to stir up shit imo!

Harrin · 24/11/2014 22:20

Looking to stir up shit and get on the front pages no doubt. She just said she thought it will be headline news tomorrow

bobbyjoe · 24/11/2014 22:24

Exactly LouMum. She thought she could take centre stage and air her views and meddle in something that she wasn't involved in - why? because that's what she's been doing all her life. That'll teach her to stick her beak in. I hope she thinks twice next time.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 24/11/2014 22:32

Bloody hell, I'm obviously watching a different programme.

I saw a stupid selfish person go totally over the top when someone disagreed with her.

AliceinWinterWonderland · 24/11/2014 22:33

I think that Kendra showed a distinct lack of self control and was utterly foolish. I do think she is struggling a bit mentally/emotionally right now, as she is literally all over the place. I also think she is not bright enough to realise she is being goaded. If she was, she wouldn't have risen to it. Foolish on her part, but she also strikes me as being rather attention seeking and she has repeatedly gotten quite annoyed when others are not following her "script" as she is playing it out.

She made a specific comment in her rant calling herself a young girl.. she is 29. She is not a "young girl," she is an adult. But she often seems to do this young helpless act (remember the whole we need a man to help us in the first day or two? Hmm), again IMO as attention seeking or flirty.

Sorry, but she pretty much guaranteed herself to be voted for in the trial again. Although that may very well have been her aim - again, attention seeking with all her shrieks and "oh my gaaawwwwwd!" shouts.

bobbyjoe · 24/11/2014 22:37

I saw someone acting superior that thought she could take over and she took a beating for it, which completely took her by surprise (more fool her). If she'd had the emotional intelligence to have approached it differently, with a bit of tact rather than straight in your face, she might have got her point over. But she chose to steam roller her, which is never going to go down well so she got what she deserved.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 24/11/2014 22:39

So do you think Kendra "won" that argument then? How did she put her down apart from calling her an old woman and telling her to go to sleep? Is that a clever put-down? Kendra looked like a fool from start to finish.

Mrsjayy · 24/11/2014 22:40

Edwina was a bit of a cow but kendra over reacted remember kendra is the centre of her own world she has been on tv since she was 18 it is the reality selfishness imo I laughed when mel pulled the face when she realised hef wss 78 and Kendra was 18 she was saying what we were all thinking YUCK

bobbyjoe · 24/11/2014 22:43

Kendra is a product of her upbringing which I think was bad. She has major issues which I'm sure she'd be the first to admit. I also think she's quite an honest straight forward person. I don't think she wants to do the challenges. I think she's running on empty, which didn't help with the Edwina situation. I think all the All my gawddd stuff and ewwww is American. I don't like it as it's a bit over the top but that's how she expresses herself. She's not educated but I don't think she's stupid.

bobbyjoe · 24/11/2014 22:46

I think she definitely took the wind out of Edwina's sails in a way that Edwina probably hasn't experienced before and yes I do think it served Edwina right.

AliceinWinterWonderland · 24/11/2014 22:48

All my gawddd stuff and ewwww is American

Fucking hell, is it "let's all express sweeping incorrect generalisations about Americans" night tonight on MN or WHAT? Angry

No. It is not American. It is perhaps more related to age. I guarantee you the college students hanging around outside Greggs in our area talk like this All. The. Time. (and they're BRITISH Shock)

MyOwnJungle · 24/11/2014 22:51

Yes kendra's rant included a lot of shuddthefukkups but I thought Edwina was supercilious and cruel to drama bait her in that way. Edwina had a stable upbringing (I suspect) with a good education and a good career and she poked a stick at a woman who was addicted to chrystal meth by 14 and living with a predatory ol' perve by 18. I am not sayying I'd want to share the jungle with Kendra because she is a bit self-absorbed but what did Edwina gain from pulling the pin on Kendra?

bobbyjoe · 24/11/2014 22:51

oh behave Alice. Yes, oh my gawwdd said like that is how Americans say it and ewwww orginated from America. What's with the red angry face? God, there's always one to take offence over nothing. Yes, college students over here will say it as language and sayings travel Confused

MyOwnJungle · 24/11/2014 22:52

My kids must be american Confused

AliceinWinterWonderland · 24/11/2014 22:53

lol Jungle I know. But apparently bobbyjoe is the expert. Hmm pfffft

MyOwnJungle · 24/11/2014 22:55

Does anybody remember when dom joly was incredibly patronising to stacey solomon but she made some really good points when she put him in his place for being so patronising. I wish I could remember what they were talking about. I think they ended up getting on well.

bobbyjoe · 24/11/2014 22:56

No, myownjungle but they might be influenced by American culture which has travelled over here. I think the flow is stronger from America to Britain than the other way. Did you not know younger people are heavily influenced by the way Americans speak? It's picked up from music, films, social media etc. There are some words that go the other way too but more come over from the US than from here to over there. It doesn't mae them American but the younger generation since the 1950s have picked up words from American culture. Have you really never heard of that happening before?

Mrsjayy · 24/11/2014 22:56

Kendras dad owned biomedical companies and was able to retire at 48 im sure her upbringing was just fine,
