cherin and icemist great drawing and fab screenshots. Lovely way to wake up and will aid my recovery no end!!

Ilovelblue · 20/11/2014 09:18

Oops. Thought I'd lost that first comment, sorry!

orphan · 20/11/2014 09:27

Fantastic cherin! Are you sure your neighbour was really asleep, or maybe deliberately closing his eyes whilst thinking "oh my God, I'm next to a stag drawing nutcase, I'm going to pretend to sleep.."?

ihearttc · 20/11/2014 09:27

Fab Stag Cherin!

Yes I love CJ's legs as well...very muscular! I can't believe we are the 3rd most active thread (well I can actually because we all love to talk) but its amazing that this long after the programme has finished we are still talking about it.

Right no response from my first mission Im sorry to say. Still no answer as to what was said...I haven't got the dvd yet (FC bringing it) so Im just going by what I can hear and to me it sounds like "we're" but I totally agree that given what was said before "you're" would make much more sense.

I "borrowed" DH's super duper expensive headphones and listened to it through that and it still sounds like "we're" so I then went back to Ep 4 and tried to listen for "Molly" and I still can't hear it so no idea whats going on with my hearing lol!! I think if TG does ever reply I might take the chance to ask him about that as well (although might be slightly difficult to explain on a tweet).

pixieg1rl · 20/11/2014 09:31

Excellent work cherin

I've been away from the fanfic for a while and didn't notice the most recent one from eros et philia, which has set me up nicely for the day.

Rhubarb01 · 20/11/2014 10:32

cherin.........lovely!

Perhaps this is the start of a whole new metaphorical art movement. In years to come people will look back on this as the 'Stag Period'!

apsara03 · 20/11/2014 10:49

Morning, I'm off work with a stomach bug so am stuck on the sofa watching it off the sky box, probably why I had time to skim read the entire thread yesterday! I bought The Railway Man dvd as BA on the cast list, but only a few lines n you don't see his face, though I'm definitely a CJ girl rather than BA girl.
Thanks for the tips re the fan fic. I found some of them on tumblr between episodes 4 n 5 while I was trying to find out that they hadn't killed CJ - not much work got done that week!
I had to sign up to MN to post, n it amused me to get a email from them starting 'you're nearly there..."
Relieved I'm not the only one who finds themselves saying lines in conversation. I'm a teacher n realised I was starting to sound a bit military - poor kids!

Nickel45 · 20/11/2014 10:53

Ooh, bit of a dilemma, just realised that a really good friend of mine was really into OG too ... do I tell her about this thread (unless you are already on here?!) or do I stay incognito?!

Nickel45 · 20/11/2014 10:58

Hope you feel better soon apsara
(was trying to think of a CJism to say that ... but an epic fail on that count, sorry!)

Rhubarb01 · 20/11/2014 11:02

Nickel45 unless she is able to identify you from your nickname, tell her you just happened upon this thread by chance when looking for something else and found it really amusing. You don't need to confess to having joined in after all that is not in the spirit of 'incognito'. Of cours,e if she reads this reply or anyone else's she might realise that it is you talking about her! Oops! However, you might just want to keep this little gem to yourself until we have reached thread V probably by the weekend and then she is unlikely to go back and read everything from the previous threads, so you will be safe.

Rhubarb01 · 20/11/2014 11:08

Taking this rather seriously, if my previous message is any use to you at all, I could of course, ask for my comment to be removed, so there is no incriminating evidence on the thread!

Ilovelblue · 20/11/2014 11:08

Nickel - I would keep quiet I think, play it by ear and see if she mentions anything to you first. Must admit, I have a friend who I thought could possibly be on here as I mentioned the thread ages ago, when we were on version I, but she's certainly not said anything. The problem is when you happen to reveal any little personal details on here which might make her think "Is that my friend?"

apsara03 · 20/11/2014 11:10

lol thanks Nickel45 :) rhubarb01s advice is good. It's only nutters like me who go back n read the old threads, not if she's as nutty as that she'll fit right in

apsara03 · 20/11/2014 11:17

Though if she is that in to it she may well find it on her own in which case your secrets safe

Rhubarb01 · 20/11/2014 11:18

apsara you are not nutty - you've proved you're a true fan. Such dedication is commendable!

Nickel45 · 20/11/2014 11:25

Thanks all, I will wait and see if she says anything (I don't think she will be able to identify me from my username). Might mention stags sometime and see whether she reacts!! No worries about removing stuff rhubarb, but thank you so much for the thought. Its brillant that we can all be so open on here about stuff, but I guess that's because we don't know each other! Pretty sure she isn't mad enough to have gone looking for something like this (mind you, I wasn't before CJ!).
(apsara - not just you that's nutty ... you'll discover that we are all as bad as each other!! Wink).

firegirl · 20/11/2014 11:33

We are all as bad as each other. I'm starting to look at my RL friends and pitying them for not being into our girl/CJ and missing out on so much. How sad am I?

Rhubarb01 · 20/11/2014 11:46

We are all maintaining the outward appearances of normality whilst living a secret, nutty second life below the radar. Actually, I think its great to have an outlet for all these silly, wacky ideas and have a good laugh. You are a great bunch of people with wonderfully vivid imaginations. I don't think my family really understand my sense of humour - to quote CJ my family's reaction could be summarised as, "there is nothing remotely funny about that!". They all know that I read this and contribute comments and don't seem to care, although I don't go into details. The kids just say resignedly, "Mum's on mumsnet again!" As long as they get fed, they seem happy enough!

apsara03 · 20/11/2014 11:47

I wish it had been at least 6 or even a 12 episode series, it was such a roller coaster n that way they could have done more with the army plot, the romance did take over as much as I loved it. I also love how much was done through non verbal acting rather than dialogue - only realised this when I've had it in the kitchen whilst doing other stuff - only nothing got done! And nor just the brill music but how those few lobes of lyrics fitted so perfectly to the scene

Ilovelblue · 20/11/2014 11:57

apsara - we all think it should have had at least one extra episode as the last one appeared rushed; such as when one second Molly was crying with her mother and the next she was walking to the restaurant to meet CJ in Bath.

I looked at some comments from people on Twitter earlier complimenting Tony Grounds on his script, asking when the next series will be etc. I must be a bit dim, but I just haven't got the hang of Twitter at all. Thought I would use these two days off work to try and master it, but I'm afraid I don't get it at all, despite having a quick lesson or two from a colleague at the end of last week.

Rhubarb01 · 20/11/2014 12:11

I can't help I'm afraid Iloveblue as I'm not on Twitter and I've said before on here that I can't see the point of it because it seems so superficial and limiting. A lot of comments are almost unintelligible. I suppose I prefer to use full sentences to express myself and apart from reading and joining in with this thread, I'm just not into the 'instant' culture.

apsara03 · 20/11/2014 12:32

I am on twitter though I rarely post. lloveblue, have you got an account set up?

Tony ground has put a photo of a note his son have him 27 years ago -he keeps it in his wallet for inspiration :)
