How ironic that I should receive my carol concert ticket in the post today with a covering letter telling me that Ben Aldridge is going to be there! Dated 14th November, so clearly a cock up!

Pixie those naughty Scaramanga people stealing our stag in an outfit, he does look rather dashing in a tuxedo though. cherin after the swinging microphone pose, could you do a christmas CJ/stag in a Christmas jumper? Or tuxedo?

Nickel - be careful it is surprisingly easy to recognise people on here. There have been about 4 acquaintances I have easily recognised from things they have posted, and I am not a particularly heavy user. Nor did I know that any of them posted here. The most recent example, I chatted at a coffee morning with two other mums about a common parenting dilemma, and later the same day I found one of them posting the same thing here, even using the same words. Then the other mum replied saying "I think I know you in rl"!

Ooo nickel have you recognised anyone on the OG threads?

In my case I think I'd feel slightly annoyed if I found out a RL friend of mine was on here, only because I put feelers out ages ago, desperate for a RL friend to chat with about all things OG and no one professed to love it.

I mean being frank sorry!

apsara I do have a Twitter account - created it purely to see what BA was up to and then when my colleague offered me a couple of Twitter lessons, I quickly added in a few others to make it more plausible! I did see that photo of Tony Grounds' son's note - so maybe I am doing something right after all. Still don't really get the point of Twitter though.

Just read the latest klip doctor. It's a good story, don't get me wrong, but I am not happy with the way he's having Molly speak. I have nothing whatsoever against regional accents - I have one myself - but it makes her seem a bit thick. What does anyone else think?

Agree with you ilove, it's off putting to me too. In fact (really hope Klipdoctor isn't reading this at the moment) I'm not finding the diary as enjoyable now. It doesn't (for me at any rate) ring true to the CJ and Molly I have in my head. I really enjoyed the Missing Me story though and want to read more of that.

How scary if someone from RL was on his thread. Having made a mistake telling two RL friends and getting a not very nice response, I am being totally silent now. This is my silent pleasure. Love everything about you Nutters! I haven't watched an OG episode for I think 2 days but addicted to this. Going to be frightening seeing SPOs spreadsheet!

I havent read the new Kilpdoctor chapter yet, but like many of you I don't like the way he addresses her speech. She didn't talk like that all the time, it was odd East end phrases.

Read the latest chapter from Klipdoctor. There's only going to be one chapter left and then that's the story finished with. By the looks of it he regularly checks this thread as he has commented on our dislike of the use of CJ as Charlie.

I've enjoyed his chapters and have left positive reviews but now that he's writing beyond the show they way he envisions the characters progressing will always differ from our own point of view. I have to admit I do think Molly comes across at times like Eliza Doolittle. But fair play to him for actually having the balls to write something for it to be commented on. I am looking forward to his next of story especially Missed Me.

Pretty sure I'm still incognito, the stag meant nothing to my friend, phew! (Or she didn't want to admit she was on here too ... I can live with that!).
I've also been quite good at not watching as much, but am on here instead. Although I gave in last night when my littlie wouldn't go to sleep without watching "the soldiers". I only have the last three episodes, which she calls, "the one where the girl is upside down", "the one where the man falls over" and "the other one".

I've just read klipdoctors new chapter, and completely agree about writing the accent, I don't like it at all. My accent is fairly similar to Molly's, but how it is written is not how she talks. I do find it really infuriating when people write cockneyish speak by replacing th with f or v. Aaaaagh. Most of it (for any accent, i think) is about using slang, which distinguishes the accent (does that make sense?! ... Not even rhyming slang, but stuff like 'gonna' instead of 'going to' or 'yourn' instead of 'yours' - not sure if they are good examples, but hopefully you know what I mean!). Sorry, klipdoctor, I love the story, but read it how I imagine molly speaking, not how it's written!

ilove many thanks for the list of names! I will use this as the starting point of my data gathering. Makes it sound very complicated when really all I do is scroll through the thread and count!

I have often wondered how I would react if someone in RL worked out I was on this thread! Hope I wouldn't be embarrassed for two main reasons - first and most importantly I think we should be proud of the thread that we have become and second the individual would be giving away that they are at least following the thread and reading it closely.

snumpy you make a good point aboutabout Klipdoctor leaving the envelope of the series. Nickel love your littlies description of the final episodes. On the cockney rhyming slang, is it me or does MD not use a single example in the series. I may be wrong but I can't think of any. I am sure someone will be able to confirm or otherwise! Now must get reading!

My dd is school netball captain this year. They just had a very frustrating game which they won but nearly threw away in the last two quarters. I suggested that in her team talk next time she tell them in the words from OG to "stay alert, stay focused". She looked at me weirdly and told me I was just too addicted to "that programme" and "that man", accompanied by a withering look that only a teenager can manage. She doesn't know the half of it! The only time I mentioned it to her was when she had a friend over and I suggested they might want to watch it as there was a gorgeous man in it - I showed them a clip and they both drooled briefly, but then went back to whatever teenagers do when holed up with friends. I haven't mentioned it since till tonight, and I won't be mentioning it again. I think my interest is best kept between me, my ipad, and all of you!

SPO re rhyming slang, doesn't Molly say "nice kettle mate" to Rolex Boy in the 2nd episode? (About his watch) I assumed that was rhyming slang abbreviated although I couldn't tell you what it was supposed to be! And later she says Bashira would have been red misted. Is that rhyming slang? I do agree in general though about klipdoctors depiction of the way she speaks, I can't relate it to the real Molly we all know and love.

Ditto to the dislike about the way that klipdoctor (and frankly a lot of other fanfic writers) is portraying the way Molly speaks (think I complained about it in an earlier thread too!). It's lazy linguistic representation.

Also I have decided never to mention Our Girl to anyone in RL anymore. I never get a positive reaction and sometimes as others have said it's quite a negative one. Anyway it doesn't make me feel good about myself whereas I come on here and feel great! So it's defo incognito for me from now on. (Not that any RLers know I'm on here except DH and DS, I don't think!)
