It's a sad day for me - no more OG on iplayer, and the duet video on you tube doesn't seem to work anymore . Might gonna have to invest in the DVD and/or iTunes download!

orphan i am afraid it's a plane journey, I hope I am not sitting to a subconsultant because that would embarrassing, but:
1- I sign his contract, so he's not allowed to complain
2- departure is at 7-fucking-20 which means I have to wake up waaaaaaay before the crack of dawn, him too....he'll probably be fast asleep right at take off. Whilst ill be scribbling. Note to self: look for the nice sketchbook (not lined). And pencil. And eraser. :-))

monopod I like your logo! It's a veeeery athletic stag, a mix between a deer and a gazelle...I am already imagining that discreetely embroidered onto a baseball cap (for our spy activities...). Black on black (kinda of green on green) ;-)

Ladies and SPO: thank you all for your good wishes. I am home again. I stayed focused, (semi) alert and came out alive! No Afghan grime in there either. The doctor may not have looked like CJ but he had a very pleasing bedside manner. Not in as much discomfort as expected but he did warn it would probably feel worse overnight!

Bad news about the carol concert. I hope BA's filming has overrun rather than his PR agents warning him about the menopausal women lusting after him on MN!

ilovevenice - my heart goes out to you. I have been through all that myself not too long ago.

monopod - great logo. Is this something else to suggest to the team on Dragon's Den - scarves, caps, jackets maybe?

HI there, love the logo. Ilove hope it went well today.

On the "we're nearly there" or the "you're nearly there" purely for the sake of research I played and replayed that scene and it's definitely "we're nearly there". The script is at odds with the programme in a couple of places in Ep 5 and in Ep 1 (and actually the DVD is different to what was actually shown on TV in one place, end of Ep 1), not that I'm obsessed or anything.

I am so disappointed we won't get a report on BA going to the carol concert but I am laughing at Richtea having booked a leg wax for the occasion.

loveblue thanks for the update! Hope the night is actually not that bad. Whatever pills they gave you to take home, take them ;-)
(I am good at preaching but I behaved very differently when it was my turn to have surgery, and still have plenty of painkillers that don't know where to dispose...tried the GP but they don't take them anymore, and the pharmacy only throws them away safely...they are not past the use date, it'd be a waste...)

Dear mr PR-guard of BA, you see, we are actually very decent people here. We bake. We exercise. We do spreadsheets. We have graphics talent. We change our kids nappies, and occasionally our parents' too. Don't be scared. The measuring tape is just a joke*!

Some of you were wondering about the stats for yesterday's busy session. I counted 92 posts which is the most since Friday but actually below average for a Tuesday. However I think it is quality rather than quantity that counts and there was quality by the bucket full.

I will give a full stats round up of the week on Sunday evening. Hope to include some data on participation. Thinking of looking at number of regular participants vs occasional participants over the week. I am thinking of defining regulars as those that post at least once a day but am happy to consider alternatives if any one has any suggestions. Could also include individual statistics (e.g most prolific poster for the week) but only if everyone is comfortable with that. If you want to be excluded please let me know!

Evening guys, I'm still hooked on the series and also on this thread...to kill the time and also in a vain attempt not to rewatch the entire thing from start to finish for the umpteenth time I've been rereading the MN our girl threads. They are brilliant!! I especially love the essays and the responses (and the amusing strikethroughs). Check them out if you get a min.

Also as a side point, I think LT has a boyfriend and has had for a while, so highly doubtful that there was any romance on set. But the natural chemistry is 'undeniable', so that little flicker of romance keeps me happy enough and still engaged with this completely fictional story that's sent me completely mad!

they both make sense, but now I think of it as 'we're' it reads differently as, its the end of the conversation in the church and its the last step before they can be properly be together with nothing from the tour in Afghan unfinished.

Anyway I have had to go and watch the scene again and my ears definitely hear 'you're nearly there'! That's the DVD... Are those of you who think CJ says 'we're' watching the TV clips? Just wondering as we've already established that there are differences. Immediately before the voiceover he'd been saying "You need to sort it out. Your world and everything in it. Ok?" Then - "You're nearly there."

Hi guys, can't believe I haven't stumbled on this thread before and relieved the I'm not the only one somewhat obsessed with OG more than any other TV show, or for the impact it's had on my life, more than the need to get come desert combats for walling the dog in! It's brought a bit of a mid life crisis. As a teenager I wanted to join the navy and after uni applied and passed selection but then failed the medical on my eye sight (they has tightened the require mental for the branch I was applying for in between). At the time I was upset but just got on with it, but watching OG plus at the same time my son starting beavers at a sea scout group which has pics of ships on the walls (I had to know all about them for AIB ) I guess made me think about a life I never had. I went on a trip where we flew in a hercules to Gibraltar n came back on one of the aircraft carriers, so the scenes on the plane had such a string resonance n I guess the whole thing about forces life on tour. I've even looked at whether I could join the reserves, think my sight would still be a problem.
