Hi, another newbie here! Never been on mumsnet before and found you guys by accident a few weeks ago (searching for anything CJ/BA related). I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your threads/posts and spend hours laughing. I have also not found any friends with this obsession and so being a technophobe asked DH to sign me up (I was fed up of the eye rolling from him every time I mention OG). Plus finally caved in and ordered the DVD 's yesterday :-) At one stage I thought I was getting better, but sadly not (I'd just been too busy at the time!) This is one obsession that won't go away! I am however going to ask DH to try some of SPOfficer' s tactics ;-) I thought they were brilliant!!

Note to self - time to stop asking people if they watched OG - another embarrassing conversation in the steam room at the gym this morning - at least that person had watched it but not interested - thankfully I couldn't see her no doubt bemused face in all the steam! I am intrigued to work out why some (normal obviously!) folk are hooked and others not at all. My self analysis - I didn't think the romance between Molly & CJ was going to work out and in fact he was going to be killed so when it ended so well I was smitten. Plus the great acting and CJ being so gorgeous of course!

SPO that was brilliant! It made me laugh so much. The other Dad must have been so worried you were after him!

Today could have been a revelation and I bottled it. Am having some new fencing put up and my builder chap brought his young apprentice today to finish the job off before the weather turned again. The apprentice looked about 15 but it turned out he was 26 and had done 5 years in the army. He was hardly a CJ character and I didn't really take much notice if I am honest but then when the builder got out his nail gun or whatever it was and started fixing the panels in place, the poor apprentice jumped about six feet in the air. I turned to see what the problem was and it seems he had been out in Afghanistan....... It would have been so easy to mention OG at this point and to pick his brains but I just couldn't bring myself to ask. The poor lad was frightened out of his wits and if he had been shot at, he clearly didn't want me to bring it up. Also, didn't want my builder to think I was some idiot besotted with hot sweaty officers in uniform.

Ooooooh, if anyone is a Strictly fan, there are some real Headley Court rehab patients in the audience.

Am so pleased that newbies keep joining. The first step to recovery is recognising your obsession. (Most of us are stuck on the first step with no sign of progression) It's so frustrating isn't it that the majority of us can't have deep and meaningful discussions and sharing of fantasies opinions about OG with our real life friends. I've completely given up trying to find fellow CJ fans. Either they're doing a very good job of hiding their interest or I am the only discerning viewer amongst my acquaintances.

Welcome all newbies. I fear joining us will not make your obsession go away. Most of us have passed the point of no return.

I am happy to declare that I haven't watched any bit if OC for 3 days at least. But I still enjoy a lot coming here, so that probably just replaces one madness with another one? :-))

Cheesed off yesterday and on the verge of a breakdown today. My ipad crashed, taking with it all my downloaded photos and music from OG. I had a complete tantrum and hubby found me in a shaking mess upstairs. I managed to tell him between sobs what had happened, then realised he thought I was talking about photos of DS and some videos I'd recently taken of him singing. More sobs as I was completely racked with guilt....I hadn't even thought about that! Maybe slight over reaction but I do have PMT to die for at the moment. Also just confirms that I have now completely lost the plot and am well and truly back in my 'I love Matt Goss and one day I'm going to marry him' days. I was 14 then.

Oh stressybird I feel for you! I think what we're feeling now is worse though than previous teen crushes as this obsession is tinged with the sadness that we know we're not going to marry him.......are we?? I'm trying to batten down my raging jealousy of those lucky enough to go to the concert. Only blow by blow details of everything that transpires will make up for it.

But if any of you manage to actually speak or touch him, I will not be held responsible for my actions...

Evening all. Back from a firework display where we got completely soaked. Just catching up on the chit chat. Ditto1 good luck with your DH. I am sure he will make a much better fist of the CJ thing than I currently am. He will probably be helped by a much more sympathetic audience!

Cherin well done on the cold turkey. I went 4 days without an episode this week mainly due to lack of time but am looking forward to watching ep5 later. Agree with others that I think I am as addicted to this thread as the show.

stressybird sorry you have had a crap couple of days. Hope you can get back all the stuff on your ipad OG and family related (could some of it have clouded over to another device?). By the way the last crush I had like this was Meg Ryan in When Harry Met Sally

There's a thought orphan, I hadn't considered anyone actually managing to touch him. But if anyone does, perhaps you could give him a good sniff too, I imagine he smells beautiful as well as looking and sounding and generally being all beautiful....I have a bit of a thing for nice smelling men. Ideally, you will ask him what aftershave he wears and share with us, that way I can douse my CJ printed night shirt (not that I've got it yet, but it's a consideration for the xmas present list).

Tried to engage my mum in conversation about OG/BA today. She just sort of looked at me a bit oddly, then asked if I wanted some chocolate cake. NO DAMMIT, I WANT CAPTAIN JAMES.

Oh dear my OG habit is still very much at the fore. Been away visiting sick relative today with just my phone for entertainment. My meagre data allowance doesn't really have the capacity for viewing eps of OG. So I have managed without all day - till evening. Gamely bought myself a copy of Hello thinking I'll just look at pretty gowns and nice houses to take mind off how much am missing seeing CJ's face. When lo and behold up pops an ad for the OG dvd - with two familiar faces staring out of the page at me. I have subsequently caved in and bought 1gb extra data just so I can watch an episode or two on my phone tonight! I am a lost cause I fear.

Intrigued BA has followed someone new...do we know who? Maybe it would give us a clue what his current project is? Or notl. (Grasping at straws).

Also going to read some klipdoctor now - been saving them.

yes he's following Sean Teale, was in Skins in E4 and is in Reign (US show) I think at present- It thoguht straight away it might be a clue to his filming in Canada as he seems to follow those he appears with
