Well last impression you want to leave is a captain in a hospital gown with the open back ;-P

icemist · 11/11/2014 22:01

what gets wrinkly after a bit...of what?

cherin · 11/11/2014 22:04

icemist last time I managed to spend some decent time under a shower was before motherhood...since then, I have developed the Quintessential Motherly Skill of taking shower-cum-conditioner and occasional shaving in 7' flat.
Having said so, I have occasionally left the kids in the bath a bit too long and I had to pick them up when they were basically white versions of Agen prunes. I think you get ALL wrinkly after 1h....no?

orphan · 11/11/2014 22:05

richtea am starting to think it's a good job I can't make the carol concert - in your reprobate company I think I'd just be a snorting, hysterical wreck and prob wet myself laughing.

icemist · 11/11/2014 22:09

ahh... i thought we were back to euphemisms ;)

shower with an audience is my routine, luckily the questions like 'has your willy fallen off mummy cos you wiggled it too much?' seem to have stopped.

cherin perhaps that's another thing that needs verifying though... We'll get richtea ayt the concert to pencil BA in for a date for testing.

Richtea19 · 11/11/2014 22:10

cherin (grin)

orphan Sorry, I don't need any encouragement. I'm easily led astray!!!

orphan · 11/11/2014 22:11

Again, my diary can be cleared.Smile

cherin · 11/11/2014 22:15

icemist me too! I gave up on shouting "bugger off and leave me alone" years ago. My kids, though, don't seem so interested in anatomy. The little one does a frankly annoying laugh when he sees me in the shower, I have to say, but he's still impressed by my Mighty Power of Washing my Hair Without Crying. The big one simply keeps on talking about minecraft expecting me to nod and Mhm at the right time whilst I am actually trying to evaluate how many weeks I can stay gorilla before anyone notices...

orphan · 11/11/2014 22:16

What's happened to SPO? I do hope he hasn't had an accident getting the big gloves out of his shed...

cherin · 11/11/2014 22:17

(S+-t! I burnt the bread! Focus up, girl, focus up)

Ilovelblue · 11/11/2014 22:17

Struth - this is the first time I've been able to check in since 8am and this thread simply gets better! Cherin - how amazing are you! So talented!

PTS If I'd been your acquaintance, even if I'd never heard of BA, I would have been on Google as soon as I got home to find out who was going to receive your fan mail! Haha!

A lot more here to take in so will read the rest of the day's musings and try and come back with something intelligent.

Still can't believe CJ as a stag - brilliant!

Nickel45 · 11/11/2014 22:19

My DH has given up asking why I dissolve into laughter every time I look at my ipad, and has disappeared to watch the football/sport/whatever else is on. (Phew!)

Richtea19 · 11/11/2014 22:25

Maybe the combination of leaning against a door frame, legs slightly apart, looking like an angry teapot made him fall over? ;)

stressybird · 11/11/2014 22:28

Evening all. Well, I gave it a go. Sat in meeting waiting for an opportunity to get a "I want you to be brilliant" or "stay focused....etc" but each time I tried, I chickened out. Was about to give up when an ideal moment presented itself and I managed a quick " stay focused, stay alert" (didn't have the courage for "stay alive", I still have my reputation in RL to consider). Thought it was quite well received until one of my colleagues caught me later and asked me "what all that bollocks was about?" Apparently, when I said it, I had a smirk on my face. So, I think I failed. May have to save it for six year old DS. He seems to appreciate it far more.

Ilovelblue · 11/11/2014 22:28

Nickel That scene as he takes Molly into his quarters is one of my many favourites. His voice makes me almost melt. What I also like is the way he jerks his head - then it's the same again when he tells Smurf to disappear in the bunker, right before he kisses Molly. I must like the jerk of the head - he does it again to summon her in to his room in the hospital when he sees her through the window and who can forget the nod of the head when she returns to his parents' house in Bath after her next tour.

(Huge wistful sigh).

icemist · 11/11/2014 22:31

I love the head nod. its very come hither... especially when he does it to Molly- which he does a lot.

Unfortunately in my work I don't get much opportunity to use any 'CJisms'

I do enjoy reading others attempts though...

Nickel45 · 11/11/2014 22:35

Oh yeah, the head jerk, mmmmm .... I like the time when he calls her to look at his blisters too :)

orphan · 11/11/2014 22:38

Well done stressybird. At least you weren't compared to a cross teapot.

Nickel ooh yes, the head jerk! The hospital one combined with the smile...

orphan · 11/11/2014 22:41

I also love Molly's growing smile when she watches him through the window in the hospital.

Ilovelblue · 11/11/2014 22:41

I managed a CJism today but it did go a little awry. I needed to bring some heavy boxes into the office from my car and one of my lovely colleagues offered to assist with the heaviest of them all. I said "I will adore you for always if you do that". We get on well but I would not normally use that sort of phrase with him. He dumped the box near my desk, gave me a strange look and scuttled off.

Oh where is SPO? We need to find out how he has tried to emulate CJ today!

Nickel45 · 11/11/2014 22:45

That's the best orphan :) ... That smile!

orphan · 11/11/2014 22:45

I had such high hopes for SPO and the plaid shirt/gloves ...

Sorry everyone, pulled a late one at work and only got in a while ago. Have been checking in every now and again but not had a chance to post anything despite being desperate to join in. I have christened that feeling thread itch (although now I come to think of it, that sounds like some kind of fungal infection)

Anyway, can I start by saying that you are all a bunch of nut jobs and should be committed. Having said that I think I would quite happily join you in the asylum.

cherin i love your picture! You have a fantastically surreal sense of humour. And performed while on a conference call! As a man I cannot multi task at all (in fact I have only mastered walking and talking at the same time quite recently).

Loved the conversations about CJs marriage and the moving bed and the mysterious photos. I have started calling out opinions as I read the thread which is drawing confused glances from those near me at the time!

Can I also thank the person who posted the molly picture this morning (sorry forgotten who it was). Really set me up for the day. I cannot do these screen shot things at all. I do ,therefore, have a request (as CJ would say) could someone do a shot of Molly during the duet for me - the one where she is smiling at CJ? I would put that one on every month of my (imaginary) calendar.

I am planning to unleash the blue checked shirt on DW tomorrow. Had to run it through the machine today. It was a bit 'migin' after being at the bottom of the wardrobe for a few months! Also found the gloves in the shed and knocked the spiders out of them so am all set!
