... well, depending upon how much we talk!

Carrying on from thread one.

OP posts:
ppeatfruit · 20/10/2014 13:29

Thanks tensymum she seems nice maybe she's too busy. I DID recogn use her name as an author I did'nt know she was a SCD fan!

Tensmumym · 20/10/2014 13:34

Marian is desperate to get on the ITT panel and is in London this Friday! Let's make this happen! Smile

Behoove · 20/10/2014 14:13

I guess she's staying in because of Anton's popularity and because all of Scotland is voting for her
Really? Hmm. Do we not care about the quality of the dance then?
Because me and "all of Scotland" only ever vote based on nationality.
Same excuse for the lovely Thom - or is he excluded because he doesn't speak with a Scottish accent?
How insulting. Saw many of the same type of comments on the other Judy thread.
I have never assumed that English, Irish or Welsh people only vote for their own, to see it written on here so often is beyond patronising.

Tensmumym · 20/10/2014 14:20

Sorry, didn't mean to be insulting. I just tend to assume that Scottish people are more likely to vote for a Scottish person on the show in the same way that the Welsh or Irish would. You're right of course in that if Judy did not come across well then that support would be much less. I'm speaking as someone of Irish origin who really liked Jennifer and Tristan because they seemed lovely and they were Irish. I think this applies much more if you are from Ireland, Wales or Scotland than if you are from England. It's a bit like when you're interviewing someone you naturally warm to them a bit more if they come from the same place as you or you have something else in common. If you're a professional interviewer it's something you're taught to be aware of.

Behoove · 20/10/2014 14:22

Sorry, didn't mean to pick on you tens
Flowers

I really like the niceness on these threads.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 20/10/2014 14:24

Well, Scott is from near me but I'm certainly not going to vote for him!

Tensmumym · 20/10/2014 14:25

No worries Behoove. Are you a Marian Keyes fan? Let's make sure we get her on ITT for the Friday panel!

Behoove · 20/10/2014 14:30

Agreed!

Listmaker · 20/10/2014 14:57

Hi ladies - can I join in again.

I also find Mark very likeable - also never watched TOWIE but he was lovely in I'm a Celebrity and does seem a genuinely nice chap who isn't at all cool and just gets quite emotional about stuff.

Steve is a legend - I only just found out about his accident. I had a bad accident on my foot last year but nowhere near as bad as his - I'm only on two operations perhaps with another to come. I can't begin to imagine being able to dance like that even in 5 years' time. I love his enthusiasm.

Same as you guys I find it hard to warm to Pixie but Frankie seems sweet and love her hair too.

Scott is sweet but agree that he probably wants to be put out of his misery now and should be soon! As should Judy. After that it's going to be interesting. Just hope no one good goes in place of either Scott or Judy in the next two weeks...

Titsalinabumsquash · 20/10/2014 14:59

I think as soon as Scot is in the bottom 2 he'll go regardless of who he's against, he's only staying in because of the public atm, his fan base is mahoosive!

knottyhair · 20/10/2014 15:16

I'm just de-lurking for a mo if that's OK for a Steve Backshall related item Smile. He is a friend of one of my best mates (she has filmed him several times) and apparently is still really suffering with his back & foot. He has told her that he wanted to do Strictly as he's hoping to make the transition from kids to adult TV. My mate says he is a really lovely bloke and he has signed stuff for my DS several times and also said hello via text to my DS the last time we were in her company. Love reading this thread, but can never think of anything useful/entertaining to post! As you were...

ppeatfruit · 20/10/2014 15:49

I thought Steve's lifts were good, now I know his injury history, it's quite incredible how well he's dancing! knotty. thanks Grin

OwlCapone · 20/10/2014 16:49

Does anybody think Scott is a bit mortified of making a show of himself.

Having listened to his R1 show, not in the slightest :)

Mrsjayy · 20/10/2014 16:59

I don't listen to his show I just find him a bit odd and look s like he takes himself a bit serious.

Tensmumym · 20/10/2014 16:59

That's nice to hear about Steve knotty. His enthusiasm is great and while he may not be the best dancer, to my inexperienced eye he seems to have great rhythm. Scott seems bemused at getting bad comments. I think he's quite happy to be kept in the show.

OwlCapone · 20/10/2014 17:08

He definitely doesn't take himself seriously on his radio show. He was saying today that be can't believe he's still in. His "side kick" was helping him plan his Last Dance and suggested he really go for it with daft moves like the Lawn Mower, The Sprinkler and some other similar names I can't remember :)

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 20/10/2014 17:10

DH and I were wondering how much crossover there is between the watchers of Strictly and the listeners to Scott Mills, I always imagine Strictly to be mainly the Radio 2 demographic and the Radio 1 crowd should be out on a Saturday night instead. I've never heard his show.

Silkchiffon · 20/10/2014 17:12

Missed Scott's dance - what was it that Craig said that was so nasty?

OwlCapone · 20/10/2014 18:35

Possibly the bit where he said Scott disproved the saying that everyone can learn to dance.

OwlCapone · 20/10/2014 18:37

I love Scott Mills on R1 (especially Innuendo Bingo) and love Strictly. However, I imagine that the majority of any cross over is from Scott Mills fans watching him in it!

CMP69 · 20/10/2014 18:45

I love Scott but even though I listen all day I'm not sure I'm Radio 1 target demographic at 45 over 25

Silkchiffon · 20/10/2014 19:06

Thanks Owl. Seems a bit uncalled-for and against the spirit of the show.

I was sad to see Natalie go but it's not true that she's always paired up with no-hopers. A few years back she was with Scott Maslen - he was fantastic for a while but something seemed to knock him and he faded away. Their jive is still one of my all-time fave Strictly dances.

Raia · 20/10/2014 19:08

Natalie was also paired with Ricky Whittle, who should've won it that year!

MsInterpret · 20/10/2014 19:45

Natalie and Scott was first year I watched it and have loved Nat since then.

Agree Mark seems a v nice guy, felt sorry for him in dance off but he took it in good spirits, didn't he?

And also have Frankie hair-envy. My hair is actually quite similar but nowhere near as cool or shiny. Confused

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 20/10/2014 19:55

I have everything envy of Frankie - hair, skin, figure, cheekbones, getting to dance with Kevin Grin.
