... well, depending upon how much we talk!

Carrying on from thread one.

What do you mean, silk chiffon? What issues with the show?

Poor Steve - he didn't look comfortable tonight, and his mistakes were obvious. Have just voted for him! So sweet, apologising...

Alison terrible. Just waved her arms around.

Liked frankie and also amazed that I liked the DJ!! Great choreography.

thenightsky · 01/11/2014 20:21

Bloody hell... Just found out (by wiki-ing) that Judy Murray is 6 months younger than me.

Silkchiffon · 01/11/2014 20:21

cocktail I meant about James Jordan getting the boot - she's been pretty vocal about her unhappiness and even made some remark early on in relation to Steve about 'having to work with what you're given'.

LottieMumofWilfJenkins · 01/11/2014 20:23

I am just in from work and i was allowed to watch SCD!!! I took my boss a plate of leftover roast chicken so he was in a good mood. I dont think he liked my version of Le Freak though when i danced into the living room! Grin

thenightsky · 01/11/2014 20:24

Zoe and Claudia should be the double act.

onerepublic · 01/11/2014 20:28

I like Frankie and Kevin, but I was kind of hoping Mark and Karen would be at the top of the leaderboard, just because of how chuffed he was with his scores.

I think Mark could make the final now, based on the progress he's made.

Would be interesting if Mark and Karen were against Frankie and Kevin in the final - has that happened with any other of the couples who are in a relationship?

OneInAMillionYou · 01/11/2014 20:32

The marking is crazy tonight. Is Darcey on glue?

Silkchiffon · 01/11/2014 20:38

Yes Zoe and Claud would work but Tess is never going to give up that spot now she's seen off Brucie.

I wonder why they feel the need to have singers for the music? It would surely be better to just have the musicians and let them do a good cover of the songs. I actually think the singers do well considering what's asked of them but they're never going to get close to the originals

digerd · 01/11/2014 20:39

Mark was transformed. Where did he get those strong muscular thighs from? He was really good tonight.

I didn't recognise Frankie and thought it was Karen dancing a pro dance with Kevin..
Simon needs more personality to get more viewers votes, but his dances haven't helped him.
Jakes Paso wasn't much better - it is so difficult for the male celebs. Wonder how the voting will go this week?

The jive was not Sunetra's dance, so hopes she gets through.

Lilia and Darren were against each other with Matt Dawson and Emma Bunton in 2006, but obviously neither of them won.

My thoughts:

Mark - I really enjoyed his jive, I love his enthusiasm. He just needs to give the crying a rest.

Simon - was better than I expected. It's a shame he went wrong at the end as he was doing well.

Jake - was good but felt underwhelmed by him again, I hope he pulls it out of the bag next week. I enjoyed

Pixie - I enjoyed it, I like her partnership with Trent.

Caroline - was good, she'd got some of the samba bounce at the beginning but then lost it. I can see what they meant it being too clean but it was fun.

Steve - I thought the charleston would be good for him as he's so cute but he was really out of his depth with those lifts.

Scott - I thought the choreography was great. Of course it was crap but he looked passable in parts and I think it's the best dance he's done yet.

Judy - Poor old Judy, she is rubbish. She should really go this week, I think Scott was better.

Sunetra - I'm afraid her wafty arms were annoying me, they're not jive arms. It was a decent effort but there wasn't enough attack to it. She is much better at ballroom, as the judges said.

Frankie - Technically the best by far but that music...was just weird. I have no idea how Kevin managed to choreograph a tango to it. I'm afraid Frankie does come across as rather bland when technically she's so good. It definitely deserved the highest mark though.

Alison - Lots of wafting, pretty forgettable. Her footwork is rubbish. Aljaz looked rather dapper in those boots though.

Bewooohooove · 01/11/2014 20:47

A very entertaining show! Loved Frankie's dance. Steve is so sweet.
Judy seems like a lovely lady unlike Alison but she really cannot dance.
At this stage of the series you can really see improvements happening, even Scott did his best dance so far.
I'm afraid I find Pixie and Caroline quite dull.

Rubyrooo · 01/11/2014 20:50

Another vote for a Zoe and Claudia combo! Can't stand Tess, even more so now she has just taken over Brucie's naff joker role.

Pandora37 · 01/11/2014 20:51

Gah my post about Lilia and Darren was in response to onerepublic.

I also meant to say Frankie comes as rather bland which is a shame when she's technically so good.

Tanaqui · 01/11/2014 20:54

Crumbs graveyard that must have been agony to hold that long. Was it a coppelia type story? She does float beautifully over the floor!

Roonerspism · 01/11/2014 20:56

I'm enjoying this series, don't get me wrong, but I'm not *lov

Roonerspism · 01/11/2014 20:58

Grrr loving it...

Am I missing my favourite professionals? Or are the slebs a bit bland?

onerepublic · 01/11/2014 21:00

Thanks pandora Smile

Trisarahtops · 01/11/2014 21:10

Very strange music tonight. In particular I didn't like the music for the tangos or the paso doubles.

I quite enjoyed Mark's jive - think it might have been my favourite dance tonight. I'm sure Frankie was good, but I just can't seem to warm to her. I thought it was a shame that Steve was so worried about the lifts that he lost his way - I think it had the potential to be an awesome charleston.

OohOod · 01/11/2014 21:16

Whole series has had dodgy music.

thenightsky · 01/11/2014 21:19

Settle an argument between me and DH please mumsnet.

Was that the first 10 of this series?

onerepublic · 01/11/2014 21:20

I think Donny Osmond gave one? But doesn't really count as he's not a proper judge?

Trisarahtops · 01/11/2014 21:26

I think some dances need traditional music (e.g. paso, Argentine tango). Others - not so much (e.g. waltz, AS). This series I've had trouble identifying some of the dances as the music-choreography combinations have been so random (I did 9 years of ballroom dancing, and got to grade 15).

citruslemon · 02/11/2014 00:43

Frankie and Pixie might be the better dancers but I want to see Mark in the final because he's improved so much.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 02/11/2014 02:07

New thread here, because I think we'll run out of space on this one, and starting one halfway through the results show would be a pain.
