Anyone see this? I thought it was entertaining and will be tuning in again next Tuesday.

Not as good as Sunshine Valley (?right name - but the one about the yorkshire kidnapping) - but still pretty good. I like David Morrissey.

Loved it. Morrissey is a brilliant actor and hot as f*ck too.

Loved the little touches like how they had to take their shoes off in the boss's house. And the Hartlepool conversation :)

Bit surprised that the rehabilitated scally armed robber had an ex who looked like a model but that's telly for you.

isitsnowingyet · 24/09/2014 16:15

Hmm - also that Morrissey's house is so ample and wealthy looking when he's been earning crummy wages as a cabbie. I guess his wife could be the bigger earner..

Yeah - liked the silence after 'I didn't know the northeast had a coastline..'

I quite enjoyed it- I only ever seem to watch this kind of thing if David Morrissey is in it because he's nice to look at

MorrisZapp · 24/09/2014 16:23

Agreed re his house. Big, trendy, shiny.

member · 24/09/2014 17:03

I enjoyed this, how many parts is it in?

I can't imagine it can go on for too long purely because I imagine the police would have called in the car registration for a PNC check when they began the pursuit. Although The Horse said they changed the plates regularly, DM's character didn't divulge he'd been followed by the police.

Anybody got any ideas why Tim (the son) left?

isitsnowingyet · 24/09/2014 18:43

Wow - I hadn't even clocked that the son was called Tim - let alone why he's left

Was it a gun in the bag that he delivered?

Yes, at least two that I saw!

desperatehousewife21 · 24/09/2014 19:46

I believe its a 3 parter. I'm just watching the first with dh now, thought the Hartlepool convo was v funny Grin. breaks up the serious vibe.

him 'running over' that lad (Tim?) made me jump!

will def be tuning in next week.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 24/09/2014 19:47

It was really good , also thought the Hartlepool thing was hilarious.

MorrisZapp · 24/09/2014 20:40

Lucy Mangan gave it raves in today's
Guardian.

diddl · 25/09/2014 07:22

I enjoyed it as well.

The running over the lad-did anyone "get" that?Confused

"Didn't know there was a coast in the NE"GrinGrinGrin

R4roger · 25/09/2014 08:24

bit depressing and i dont know why they had to put a person in the boot and have a feelign it wasnt anything to do with The Horse. but as its only a 3 parter i might give it another chance.
annoyed that his house is so glam.

diddl · 25/09/2014 08:32

I also wondered if the "friend" was acting alone when he kidnapped that lad(?)

jellyandbeans · 25/09/2014 08:32

I missed the first 15minutes so was surprised his house was so glamorous as I had visions of a small place with 70s style furnishings! David Morrissey is always good value, but I cant help thinking I've seen it all before.

diddl · 25/09/2014 08:51

well I guess that housing isn't always an indicator of the man's current job!

MorrisZapp · 25/09/2014 08:54

Manchester house prices? Maybe he lives in a far out suburb that costs pennies.

CecyHall · 25/09/2014 09:04

I didn't think it was that swish. If they've lived there a long time maybe they have had time to build it up.

What was the wife's job? Something to do with testing stuff but I think I missed a bit!

R4roger · 25/09/2014 09:52

? market research?

Panicmode1 · 25/09/2014 10:19

I was half watching - I enjoyed the car chase at the beginning and loved the Hartlepool convo! If I remember, I'll watch next week.

diddl - I thought the running over the lad was him thinking about his son - who has obviously disappeared/left in strange circs. He was dreaming wasn't he - having watched that small boy running alongside the car.

I think that the 'friend' is acting alone and the Horse doesn't know anything about it - answering the phone and being contactable was made such a big deal of, that it must be relevant that he didn't get a phone call about it.

I think the son joined a religious cult?

R4roger · 25/09/2014 14:00

i thought the son was on a gap year?

Greyhound · 25/09/2014 16:38

Hi R4 - I think there was a scene where the guy was looking at a website run by a cult guru who was telling kids to reject their parents. The driver guy froze the video and zoomed in on a figure in the background that I took to be Tim.

member · 25/09/2014 16:45

Ah! Thanks Greyhound - I remember DM looking at a website, didn't suss it was cultish!

Greyhound · 25/09/2014 18:49

Yes - I think the driver guy told his just-out-of-jail mate that the boy was travelling to avoid having to tell the truth...
