Anyone see this? I thought it was entertaining and will be tuning in again next Tuesday.

Not as good as Sunshine Valley (?right name - but the one about the yorkshire kidnapping) - but still pretty good. I like David Morrissey.

really enjoying it.

Why would Col lie and say it wasn't a job for Horse when it really was? That didn't make much sense.

ProfYaffle · 01/10/2014 11:20

I thought Col said he hadn't been told to bring DM. The job was from horse but he dragged DM into it without horse knowing.

Nancy66 · 01/10/2014 11:21

oh yes, that makes more sense.

limitedperiodonly · 01/10/2014 11:26

I really like it. What I didn't understand was he called in for a job when he was taking the bloke to hospital. I guessed it was to provide some sort of cover, but I can't understand how.

MorrisZapp · 01/10/2014 11:28

Yes that was Vinces lifeline. Col couldn't grass him up without admitting he had asked Vince along against the Horses wishes.

He's fucked though isn't he? He's in it up to his neck because of the hospital CCTV.

ProfYaffle · 01/10/2014 11:34

That's what dh and I were saying Morris.

isitsnowingyet · 01/10/2014 18:02

Watched this again last night, and found it too violent in places , a bit ott for me.
However, I will still be watching the concluding part. Can,t see how it can end well for Vince.

Poignant when he was speaking to his son through the door, brought a tear to my eyes...

I haven't seen it yet & not sure that i want to!

anyone care to summarise?

Please?

isitsnowingyet · 01/10/2014 18:10

Will do shortly if no one else does, going to eat tea now

diddl · 01/10/2014 18:11

That's great, thanks.

Nancy66 · 01/10/2014 18:21

I've just watched final episode (couldn't wait and have access to BBC site)

it's disappointing. shame, first two were ace.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 01/10/2014 18:23

I asked Dh what he would do in a situation like he was with his son. Dh said 'well I can tell you we wouldn't be speaking through a door'Grin

Loved the bit where he decked the cult leader!

isitsnowingyet · 01/10/2014 18:56

diddl - in a nutshell-ish. Vince goes to 'the hole' ie the place on an a disused industrial site where the Horse's gang leave people to fester/die in order to save the bloke who was put in there at the end of episode one. He ties a rope round his waist, and manages to get him out and take him to the hospital.

He leaves asap, but his license plate is caught on CCTV and the police pay him a visit.

He talks his way out of trouble with the police, but his wife realises his involvement is with criminals and doesn't want any part of it.

He goes to the Horse to tell him he wants out. But, the Horse has Col in his garage and the men are beating him up mercilessly (That's the OTT violent bit) and then they plan to put Col in the hole - all because they assume that it was Col who went back and saved the bloke + taken him to hospital...

As a sub-plot Vince also decides to visit his son in the cult religious centre, but the son won't see him or speak to him - sad.

You're left wondering whether Vince will save his friend Col's life and get him out of the hole as well.

Not a nutshell really, but I'm sure I've forgotten summat!

Nancy66 - How do you 'have access to the BBC site'? And what does that mean - it sounds intriguing.. but please no spoilers about next week's episode - sorry to hear it didn't pan out well.

OP posts:
Nancy66 · 01/10/2014 19:51

no, I won't post spoilers don't worry

It's a preview site for journalists where programmes are uploaded before broadcast.

isitsnowingyet · 01/10/2014 20:28

Oh okay -thanks - looks like I'll just wait 'til next Tuesday

OP posts:
diddl · 01/10/2014 21:11

OK, thanks for that.

how does Horse know that the guy gets rescued?

was he also visited by the police?

desperatehousewife21 · 01/10/2014 21:24

watched the second one tonight, didn't think it was that bad in terms of dreadullness, bit grim yes but he's meant to be working for hardened criminals its got to have some level of violence.

Looking forward to it all being wrapped up next week.. hope the son decides to come back. really thought he was going to open that door at the end of the speech.

MrsDavidBowie · 02/10/2014 07:47

Finding it very gripping.
Decent drama.

ProfYaffle · 02/10/2014 07:53

Diddl - some of his 'heavies' went to check the guy was still in the hole but it was empty. They don't know DM knew the guy was in there.

diddl · 02/10/2014 08:10

OK.

So Col couldn't say that DM was with him & must have rescued the guy as presumably he should have dealt with it alone?

Would it solve his problems if he left Col there??!!

Horse won't let him stop being the driver, will he?

ProfYaffle · 02/10/2014 08:27

Yes, yes and no!

diddl · 02/10/2014 09:04

Guaparesaca · 02/10/2014 14:40

I have also enjoyed this, I really felt like it was a case of 'be careful what you wish for.' David Morrissey is very likeable, you can see his predicament getting bleaker by the minute. I don't see it ending well at all.

Can't believe The Horse's character- for me Colm Meaney will always be the guy in The Snapper & The Commitments!

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/10/2014 15:35

Haven't read replies as didn't want to ruin it but it's on planner as been away. Is it worth watching?
