New thread for the US open.

Am hoping to get round to seeing some of it, but in the meantime, I am limbering up my refresh finger.

So easy to be very sociable & bouncy (in the nicest possible way) on line!

Im more friendly on the phone too! I just clam up and appear aloof and cold in rl when face to face!! (there are reasons though)

I'd prefer a meet up with you lovely lot, rather than a general MN one. It'd be hard for me to get to a meet up anyway because I'm in Ireland & would have to fly over. One day, maybe.

I'm quite shy socially in a big crowd, but don't mind small get-togethers. I enjoy being chatty on MN because it doesn't demand anything of me & I can dip in or out as I like without any pressure.

I might be tempted to go if someone else would come? I'm not very good in big groups but if there was someone at my back I could perhaps manage. A thread meet up would be ace

I'd be the same Juan. I tend to be like Anyoneand clam up in big groups. Might not be too bad in smaller ones or with someone at my back.

Its not just me though, DC has a lot of social problems, worse than me and gets sensory overloads and meltdowns, and its getting more and more as she gets older so it ends up with us going out less and less as she cant cope with people (we go out as early as poss to places before they get choc a block with people).

pity as it would be good for a tennis get together but as Drama says like this we can dip in and out, some days Im more 'chatty' than others.

That sounds hard Tardis, how old is she? If I remember rightly, you don't live a million miles away from me. I'd be happy to come your way and meet for a coffee if you ever wanted to - with your dd if you felt she could cope, or without if you'd prefer to while she was at school. Same for any of you lovely lot really - maybe we should start small and work up to a thread meet :)

Mn is my social life and TBH Im happier with it than in rl.

I find this way DC and I don't get judged so much IYKWIM , as our looks alone cause a lot of comments!

On the plus side, Djok has won beaten Murray and Ferrer is up against Nishikori- Vamos David!

Ferrer lost- and to Nishikori- so that's him not going to London unless someone else gets injured in the meantime

No tennis on tv this week . but got planer ready for the 02 finals next week!!!! love it. love that they show the doubles first, they hardly ever show doubles on tv (except 2nd week on GS)

Hi all, I'm sad the season is coming to an end. I know it's only til January but even so. This year seems to have sped past tennis wise. At least we've got O2 to look forward to. I'm still dithering as to whether to go or not - there are still tickets available. Hmm ...

and the legends at the Albert Hall soon, don't forget that. love that.

then onwards to the aussie season.

Another good weekend for the Murrays :) Anyone see Judy making Andy dance a few steps with her during Strictly training? He was like "Oh Muuuumm, I'm not dancing". Hope to catch some of the O2 stuff this week, and yes, the legends.

Raahh -with you on Stan not winning AO again. Any predictions all for the winner? I'll plump for Djok (although he might be tired from three weeks of disturbed nights) :)

just watched the Berdy/Stan match- clearly Stan hasn't given up on himself just yet

I did feel sorry for Berdy - and cross, as I had settled down for a good couple of hours of tennis.

There's a line judge currently standing behind Cilic who looks just like him - I thought my double vision had come back for a minute there :)
