Not sure if they are deliberately only releasing one name at a time, but it can't be long before the big reveal.

I was really disappointed not to see James in the line up. Now that I've seen a bit of him on cbb I'm glad- he's an arse!

ooooh Sunetra Sarker aka Zoe Hannah from Casualty has been confirmed!

One of my ex pupils has had a call today to dance on the preview show which should be held on the 7th. That should be the one where they are partnered up i think!

They usually have a BBC presenter too don't they? From breakfast or something. But then it got susanna reid's profile up do much last time that they lost her to itv so maybe they'll avoid that this year!

Who would people like to see on Strictly?

Of course I'd love to see Benedict Cumberbatch, just so I can perve over him in tails and then Lycra, but he's A* List so that's never going to happen.
Clare Balding would be good, but I know she's already turned it down once.

So happy that Pasha is back, sorry that Karen Hauer is back and delighted that Jordan bloke is gone.

I think Iwan Thomas would be good and I know he fancies it (see other thread about twitter).

Oh James is in cbb?! I may have to watch a bit of it. I can imagine he's a nob!

Redcoats I don't think he will need much in the way of costumes.

I'm sorry that James is not there, if only for the fact that he was one of the few proper ballroom/latin dancers on the show. Most of the others are jazz trained and West End performers these days which is a great shame as we don't get to see a truly high standard of the dances.

For example my dance teacher said the reason that Kevin Clifton (as lovely as he is) went down the a West End route is because he just wasn't good enough to have a professional ballroom career.

FankelandFilly - as much as a I don't like James, I do think he's a good dancer.

There were tickets avail for the red carpet parade/reveal on 2nd September & for the recording of the pairings on 3rd Sept. As these are midweek, I'm guessing the preview show will be sometime over the following weekend of 5/6/7th Sept.

Agree that he is a very good dancer. Just such a shame he's being such an idiot on cbb!

Although at least Kevin did pretty well on the amateur circuit dancing the style of ballroom and Latin they use on Strictly. I'm not sure the American style necessarily translates well Aliona, Janette.

gonna miss James. I know loads of people think he's an arse and he probably is, but he does add interest and colour to the show. I hope its not going to become too bland now.

The newer prof dancers seem less vocal and less able to challenge the judges.

I'm really pleased that they've got iveta in the starting line up. Also I think that Natalie Lowe is very good. Didn't like her in her first series where she was simpering over Ricky whittle but after they one she's been great.

I think Natalie is brilliant and I hope she gets someone decent to dance with this series.
