Here. At one point Quinn appears to be either hugging or killing Salieri - apart from that it tells you very little. But still - Homeland!!!

I reckon (based on nothing except slowly building hype and last year's timings) that we're looking at late September/early October. Can we cope in a world without Brody?

Fiderer · 01/12/2014 08:03

Lockhart - plus she knew he couldn't be the breach inside the embassy because he'd only arrived.

Noellefielding · 01/12/2014 10:27

roonerspism love your name too!

I think they have drawn a veil overwhether they actually made the beast with two backs together, Zaf'n'Carrie, because we only saw a moment's cuddle with Brodie/zaf and then she wakes up drug hangover etc in bed but tellingly with all her clothes on and buttons done up. May imply that zaf is a gentleman (swoons heavily to the floor.. again, Sorry) and he has kissed her & put her to bed as he's not that kind of man!

Maybe we will have that replayed at some point, for the ladies in the audience.....

Zaf is not only an intergalactic cutie but he IS AN AMAZING ACTOR!
That doesn't always go together does it?

Sorry to blaspheme but he is far cuter than bloody Brodie, never was my cup of tea, I don't like that thing his lips do. Weird sticky out lip tendency.

Noellefielding · 01/12/2014 10:29

Fiderer is that Tracy Letts the playwright of Osage County fame?
I did not know that!
Interesting, good actor.

GypsyFloss · 01/12/2014 13:13

OMG just caught up. That was an incredible episode. Worthy of season one in tension.

Fiderer · 01/12/2014 15:53

Noelle yes, same Tracy Letts, a talented man.

CoolCadbury · 01/12/2014 18:08

Fiderer the breach happened after he arrived though!

Fiderer · 01/12/2014 18:27

Carrie figured out that Sandy CIA Head of Station had been getting US intel from someone and exchanging it for intel on wanted targets. That had been going on for months, maybe a couple of years before Lockhart arrived; he flew in after Sandy had been killed. And Carrie realised it wasn't a random mob killing but organised by the ISI. So the whole thing had been orchestrated well before Lockhart arrived.

He's a hard-nosed bastard but he's on the US side I reckon.

guineapiglet · 01/12/2014 19:48

Just caught up, powerful episode. Thought Saul without hood or disguise was very conspicuous as he raced around, horrible conclusion for him, was Carrie giving him a fighting chance by encouraging him? Glad Ambassadors creepy husband has been sold out, he now realises his own team mate is treacherous.
Quinn was very masterful in this, I wouldn't be able to keep my hands off him!!Grin

guineapiglet · 01/12/2014 19:50

Sorry, zag now realises his female team mate is treacherous... Is she working with Art Malik or against him?

guineapiglet · 01/12/2014 19:50

Zaf!

Wretched iphone

YonicScrewdriver · 01/12/2014 20:04

Is Art Malik bad uncle? Or the general?

BingoBonkers · 01/12/2014 21:33

Just watched last night's episode on Sky+. I had to FF through a couple of scenes as it was so tense.

That was a blinder of an episode. Hope it keeps up like this!

Noellefielding · 01/12/2014 21:54

guineapiglet i think all the inter loyalties are being kept uncertain for the unfeasible audience suspense and tension levels. BTW Art Malik's hard core Gov Wonk Lass is as gorgeous as Zaf but not carnally imho.
Art Malik is fab too.
Quin is lovely too, I bet Keira Knightley doesn't watch with her hubby on the grounds that Woopert has stacked some ripping bodelicious muscle sections since he was Mrs Knightley.
But Hark, have you checked out Woopert's new Squeeze? She is extremely Awesome.

ihatethecold · 01/12/2014 22:37

She is stunning. Lucky lady.

Hassled · 01/12/2014 22:41

I needed that debriefing too. I actually couldn't get to sleep last night thanks to Homeland - at stupid o'clock I was telling myself they're not real.

We're going to need a new thread soon. Name suggestions which better last season's "Homeland: Revenge of the Beards" anyone?

OP posts:
calzone · 01/12/2014 22:48

Have always loved Art Malik. Grin

And hot sexy Raza Jaffrey was in the UK version of Mistresses.

Dh and I loved that series. WinkWink

Fiderer · 02/12/2014 06:58

New thread - "Homeland: Sign in to the MN Station"?

The MN Station would have a picture of Alec Guinness as Smiley on the wall. Quinn would be on loan from the Cousins.

To aid our analysis of intel there would be lots of gin as well as the obligatory decanters of whiskey and vodka for our Russian assets.

CoolCadbury · 02/12/2014 07:25

fiderer I don't disagree with you about Lockhart but the pill tampering is specific breach they are talking about. Anyway I just wondered why Carrie suddenly trusts him when they have had such a chequered past.

rallytog1 · 02/12/2014 07:27

I suspect Carrie just knows that Lockhart isn't clever enough to obtain strange drugs, break into her apartment and cover his trail!

Fiderer · 02/12/2014 07:52

Cool You're right, Lockhart was particularly nasty about and to her at the Senate hearings, esp about her being bi-polar.

Plus she blackmailed him into giving her the Islamabad Station when he said she had to remain in the States. Tampering with her meds would be the best way for him to get rid of her.

Carrie looks at the 'big picture' - maybe she assumed the whole Bachmann/meds/Saul/breach was connected.

Re Bachmann: I don't get why the ISI had to kill him. Carrie reckoned it was to stop it being known that Haqqani was still alive. But if Bachmann had been fed the fake intel by the ISI and the drone strike was successful, why would he have thought that? It only came out when Farah happened to see Haqqani by accident when she was trailing Pi.

SecretSquirrels · 02/12/2014 10:15

Always a day late to the thread as I watch it on Monday.
I love the idea that Zaf still working for MI5.
Saul had a gun, why didn't he shoot himself when he saw the Taliban?

I do admire all you people who know the characters' names. I know Carrie, Saul and Quinn.

Fiderer · 02/12/2014 10:34

I assume it all happened too quickly.

BTW anyone looking for a laugh between Homeland episodes, there's a dire US series called 'State of Affairs'. Sort of a mix between Homeland and The West Wing. But so badly acted (particularly the CIA female lead) and so daft it actually made me laugh.

And made me realise how good this series of Homeland is.

GreenSpaghetti · 02/12/2014 17:29

I don't understand why they didn't try to locate the bad uncle on their arial cameras given they knew where Saul was and that he had escaped very recently on foot. He can't have been that far away and we could see the place lit up behind him. Then they could have just blown him and problem sorted. No?

Cocolepew · 02/12/2014 18:06

Saul looked like the man who hadn't spoken for years in The Life of Brian.

werenotreallyhere · 02/12/2014 18:21

I think Carrie knows that Lockheart is going to look a right numpty to the president if he loses another station chief there in bad circumstances
