Here. At one point Quinn appears to be either hugging or killing Salieri - apart from that it tells you very little. But still - Homeland!!!

I reckon (based on nothing except slowly building hype and last year's timings) that we're looking at late September/early October. Can we cope in a world without Brody?

DH actually talked to the TV when she seduced him saying : "Carrie, you are a BAD woman!"

What makes this TV series so compelling? We are hooked.

Part of it is that it is mostly not predictable and keeps on surprising (though the seduction was predictable)

MajesticWhine · 04/11/2014 11:19

Watched it last night as well. We were squirming when she did that. It was just horrible.

DiaDuit · 04/11/2014 18:21

I have to say i dont think this season is as compelling as previous ones. Not sure why. I think it is less buyable. Too many far fetched situations. And lack of brody of course Grin

ihatethecold · 04/11/2014 19:37

I agree. It's in danger of becoming a bit daft
Carrie is such an easy target out there.
Why wouldn't she wear a burqa?

Lweji · 04/11/2014 20:15

As far as I know, the burqa is not that common in Islamabad, and many women don't even cover up.
More in rural Pakistan.
I have seen comments about how unrealistic this series is and if anything is that women are not as covered up as portrayed. www.google.co.uk/search?q=islamabad+women&biw=1306&bih=606&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=ajNZVPmjKITLsASt64L4DA&ved=0CCcQsAQ Even interesting photos of female police officers.

From the end of episode 5 I think it will really take off, so far it has mostly been setting up the scene.

thoughtsbecomethings · 04/11/2014 20:17

I really miss Brody Hmm it's not the same without him Hmm

DaMoves · 04/11/2014 20:54

Maybe carrie wears a head scarf to cover up her blonde hair that would stand out in Pakistan?

YonicScrewdriver · 04/11/2014 20:55

I don;t think so because Fara wears one too.

LouiseBrooks · 04/11/2014 20:58

It's in danger of becoming a bit daft

I think it's been totally daft for the last two series and I keep saying"oh my God that's ridiculous" but I still keep watching.

It's based on an Israeli tv series, I'd love to see the original as well.

Lweji · 04/11/2014 20:59

A head scarf is very different from a burqa, though.

ihatethecold · 04/11/2014 21:14

I'm mean she should wear a burqa outside the embassy so she can move about freely.

temporaryusername · 04/11/2014 21:20

I know it's missing the point, but isn't it just outrageous the way Carrie expects everyone else to clear up her mess. Why on earth should her sister put in all the work to raise her child? So Angry at a fictional character Hmm.

YonicScrewdriver · 04/11/2014 21:25

YY temporary.

Frannie is like baby Emma in Friends but even more invisible.

YonicScrewdriver · 04/11/2014 21:25

I'm sure Frannie could live safely inside the embassy and get a local nanny??

deadwitchproject · 04/11/2014 22:21

Leave him alone Carrie!

I'm confused about Fara too. I knew she was an agent but definitely more number cruncher than field operative. Hmm.

I have to watch with subtitles too. I'm confused even with the subtitles, I wouldn't have a hope in hell without them.

Lweji · 04/11/2014 22:27

Fara is a terrible field operative. Grr.
But then so are other who should know better.

YonicScrewdriver · 04/11/2014 22:42

Oh, they are all crap! Carrie being surprised no one has got within 5 ft of the phone, FFS.

If this was spooks, most of them would be dead by now. Harumph.

Lweji · 04/11/2014 22:47

If this was spooks, most of them would be dead by now.

In Spooks most of them did end up dead :)

temporaryusername · 04/11/2014 23:11

Yes, Yonic Smile, but great acting from baby Frannie in her brief scenes though! Seemed suitably Hmm towards Carrie.

halfdrunkcoffee · 04/11/2014 23:17

LouiseBrooks - I've seen Series 1 and 2 of the Israeli programme (Hatufim - Prisoners of War) on which Homeland is based. It's completely different. The Israeli series is much more of a slow-burner about the psychological effects of two POWs returning after 17 years in captivity, how their families have moved on and how they struggle to adjust back to civilian life. There is a bit of a "have they been turned" aspect as well, more so in series 2, but not to quite the same extent as with Brody.

YonicScrewdriver · 04/11/2014 23:28

I know, they all died and they were competent!

Lweji · 04/11/2014 23:30

You know what the American tv and film industry is like...

HalleLouja · 05/11/2014 08:21

There is going to be Spooks the movie shame they can't bring back Adam and Ros. Its nice to see Zaf in Homeland though. I may have said that a few times.

HalleLouja · 05/11/2014 08:23

See some Spooks did survive... not many. But there is always Tom!

HalleLouja · 05/11/2014 08:35

Ohhhhhhhhhh David Harewood is going to be in the Spooks Movie in another Homeland cross over.
