Big Brother - Thread 3 - Is Kim human?

AnneEyhtMeyer · 04/07/2014 22:13

Welcome to thread three - so many questions:

  • Will we grow to like any of them?
  • Why is Ash so handsome but such a dick?
  • Will Winston tell Danielle she looks like the Joker?
  • Will Steven realise he will never have a conversation with Robo-Kim?
  • Why wasn't Ash evicted???

Yeah, originally, the housemates were more of a random selection. Now they are almost too selective.

Only1scoop · 10/07/2014 23:14

Originally Bb was a social experiment and did not just feature the stereotypical 'wannabes'.

anyone watching bots? WTF was Jale going on at Christopher about? weird?

RedToothBrush · 10/07/2014 23:26

I love BB1. BUT if I saw it now, I think I'd find it dull. They had a better selection of people, but they really did do fuck all!

fourforksache · 10/07/2014 23:40

yes I remember hours of watching live feed of people sleep or sunbathe Grin

ladybird69 · 10/07/2014 23:44

A task would be an epic cycle on an excersize bike....

StilaOnTheWrongPlane · 10/07/2014 23:59

I remember books in BB1 ..... and guitars in BB1 and 2 .

The tasks were more endurance tasks and they'd have to do stuff through the night . In BB2 I remember they had to keep a fire going . Now they are allowed something like 500 fails during the task and they pass .

Only1scoop · 11/07/2014 00:01

I loved Irish Anna on the Guitar....

She was fab

threepiecesuite · 11/07/2014 00:10

Didn't they break a Guinness world record?

StilaOnTheWrongPlane · 11/07/2014 00:16

kinda remember something about breaking records so had a google -

The fifth weekly task was for Housemates to attempt to set a new Guinness World Record by the end of the week. There were four records total that they could break, and they would perform one task each day in an attempt to break the record. They would only pass the task if they broke one or more of the records. The group decided to wager 10% of their weekly shopping budget on the task. On Day 32, Housemates participated in the fourth set of nominations. Paul was revealed to be a nominee this week for the third consecutive time, having received a nomination from everyone except for Helen. He was nominated against Bubble, who had received three nominations this week. Elizabeth was the only Housemate to receive no nominations this week, making this the third week in a row she has received no nominations. On Day 34, the housemates passed their weekly task because Dean had set the record for the highest sugar cube tower. Though he did not break the world record, Bubble did break the UK record for most sweet corn kernels eaten, breaking the record that had been set since 1988. Elizabeth also celebrated her birthday in the house on this day. Bubble was evicted on Day 36, having received 53% of the public vote. This became the closest eviction vote of the season.

Reading this last night I'd forgotten the whole betting a percentage of a basic shopping budget on passing the shopping task.

areyoubeingserviced · 11/07/2014 10:43

They defo need to have people of different
CBB is much better

WowserBowser · 11/07/2014 13:04

Aw lovely reminiscing.

Imagine Elizabeth and Dean in this series.

I googled prevcous HMs the other day and hardly recognised any of the names in series 11!

My favourites were Anna and Brian Dowling.

I still (probably mis-) quote Anna saying about leaving your smiles at the door.

threepiecesuite · 11/07/2014 17:45

My favourite ex HMs have been Science, Helen and Paul, and Nikki Grahame.

Kaluki · 11/07/2014 17:46

I loved Jon Tickle. He was such a geek!!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 11/07/2014 17:56

It must be difficult to get people who can potentially take 12 weeks off work. So they end up with a load of unemployable wannabes / serial reality show contestants.

My all-time faves are Helen & Paul, that truly was the age of innocence.

So , are we all up to speed on Armageddon ?

fourforksache · 11/07/2014 18:09

I am now! thanks for link.

RedToothBrush · 11/07/2014 18:15

During the episode, the housemates will nominate face to face - but in a shock twist, the person with the most nominations will walk out of the door immediately in a surprise eviction.

So my guess is that Ashleigh will go Friday.

Then if Jale is already on killer noms are they going to forget that? Or is she effectively safe?

I think Christopher and Marlon should be worried....

waitingforgodot · 11/07/2014 18:32

Ooh I think Marlon will get nominated. 3 new housemates eh? Fingerleys boyfriend, Helen's hooker pal and maybe Dexter Koh to wind up Danielle?

StilaOnTheWrongPlane · 11/07/2014 18:43

I'm not sure about the surprise eviction , I know it counts for sod all with the manipulation but what happened to 'who goes YOU decide' ?
What happens if 2 housemates get same amount nominations?
UNLESS
face to face noms. Tell them X Y and Z up for public vote .
unknown to house they open the lines for however long and then evict someone?

AnneEyhtMeyer · 11/07/2014 18:51

I don't usually like new housemates entering but I think this house needs them.

Now, there hasn't been a secret house, so presumably these people going in know what's been happening, so I assume the whole web of lies of "innocent" Danielle will be blown to bits, and Helen's Rooney secret will be out? Surely they won't be able to swear them to secrecy?
