Can I just say though, opening scene to episode 2 is FUCKING HOT.

I have been ever so good and waited for this.

I am actually distraught it's the last series.

Currently rewatching season 6 as a warm-up (and to avoid DH causing me irritation by going "Zombie Vampires? WTF?!")

I have avoided spoilers, but surely Eric will be in this season, they don't write out such a major character in a ten-second scene like that.
Just gives them a stronger position for re-signing the actor's contract.

Ten weeks. Fab and then not long until TWD

Not the best ep, but definitely some cool stuff being set up. It felt like a return to the early seasons - back in Bon Temps, everyone being nasty to Sookie and terrified of the vampires. Hopefully they've realised what made the show so popular in the first place.

Agree it was a bit of a scene setter episode. Not enough Pam and I'm getting annoyed with Lafayette, but there isn't anything else like it on TV at the moment, is there?

An episode of TB without Eric in is a bad episode of TB

It was a bit rubbish, tbh, and it didn't help that I couldn't remember exactly what had happened at the end of the last season.

Still, it's TB, and Eric will surely be back at some point soon. Though I doubt that Eric and Sookie will ever get it together, they seem to have danced away from that for the past few seasons (apart from Sookie staking Bill to save Eric).

Has anyone seen the IO9 recaps? They're almost more fun than actually watching TB.

Oh, seriously, I know it's a small town in backwoods Louisiana, but when attacked by vampires which can't come out in the day and can't come into your house you have no option but to sit around and get eaten? Seriously?!

It's like the writers are trying to channel The Walking Dead or something.
