The pasta seems very basic. It's like what you'd do for a quick midweek tea.

I'm sorry but I can't imagine being a student and referring to a pasta dish as 'a little bit formulaic'.

Tbh, the stir fry screams mid week tea too.

I loathe it when they say stuff like 'salty soy' and (worst of all) 'metallic basil'.

Saying that I lived for 4 student years on variations of pasta with pesto.

Oh what, I think it's probably a fairly safe bet that the royal music students tend to come from more affluent backgrounds. And they don't have the sort of parents (like DH and I) who say 'no screechy violins played by primary school children in this house, thanks'.

That said, DH plays the drums and DS2 loves playing with his drumsticks. DH is too worried about him screwing up his hearing (like DH did) and giving himself a lifetime of tinnitus (like DH did) from drumming to be too encouraging though. I think.

It seems to have taken a looooooooooong time to get to the end of the heats. Mañana, folks.
