Episode 1

What did you think?!

I loved that we visited nearly everyone. I thought some of the dialogue was brilliant. Polliver and The Hound were particularly well-acted, also Dontos (some of my favourite characters can't do drunk, and yes McNulty, I'm looking at you).

I love Arya's developing character.

I can't think of one bit I didn't like.

Have you watched it yet? Have you watched it yet?

Yes! Sorry, I am also potty training and had to deal with things on that side!

Jaime looks less like Charming from Shrek, but I am warming to him.

Tyrion is just ace! I think he needs to tell Sansa about shay though, that way she won't feel threatened by him.

Arya is a feisty wee thing, I can't see the hound selling her to Lyssa.

Jon snow, need I say more!

Remind me, where did we leave theon grey joy? Williless I remember but is he dead?

Daenrys and her dragons are my favourite.do we trust the flower bearer? I'm not sure.

I can't remember where Theon is, I think we know he's alive and that Asha Greyjoy has just set sail to rescue him.

My feeling from the episode is that Jaime's still finding his feet, trying to carve out a new niche for himself, or at least discovering that his old one no longer exists (can't be in the Gold Cloaks, his sister doesn't want him in her bed etc). Come on Brienne! Hold him to his vow.

I thought it started tonight, have I missed a secret episode?
I've read all the books

Logg1e · 07/04/2014 10:11

Filo it's on Monday evening in the UK, I believe. There's another, non-spoiler thread for people watching it at UK times.

It was simulcast at 2am this morning with the US I sky+ it!

Fontofnowt · 07/04/2014 10:37

Arya is brilliant.
My favorite part of ep1 is her tactical evaluation and theself ssatisfaction on her face as they ride away.
Brianne is good too I'm enjoying Jaime struggling with his attraction to her.

AnnieLobeseder · 07/04/2014 10:44

Excuse my confused self - have they got a new actor in to play the cocky long-haired chappie who was with Dany at the end of the last series, or was that a different character? I'm not great with anyone's names - I haven't read the books.... sorry!

AnnieLobeseder · 07/04/2014 10:45

And Jaime's new look is 'orrid. Though I sympathise with his issues.

'twas a very good episode. Lots of great acting and character development.

Logg1e · 07/04/2014 10:49

I thought that the introduction of the Red Viper (forget his name) was quite prominent and given lots of screen time.

Perhaps it was because he provided lots of excuses for some brothel screen time Hmm.

Daario was recast Annie, I liked the other guy but will see how this one fits.

I didn't see one cock this episode they must have toned down the nudity......

GlaikitFizzog · 07/04/2014 11:00

Yes, his name is dario I think. I thought he was different but I get so confused.

Jon and robb messed with my head the first season! Never knew which was which!

GlaikitFizzog · 07/04/2014 11:02

Red viper is the dorn dude that came for the wedding instead of his brother?

I really shouldn't crochet when watching!

AnnieLobeseder · 07/04/2014 11:02

Ha! Just been Googling, it is a new actor, I'm not going mad! New one isn't as cocky, which is a shame.

GlaikitFizzog · 07/04/2014 11:04

Got to be careful if your are cocky on GoT you might end up watching someone eat it! < queasy>

Logg1e · 07/04/2014 11:25

Right, what's the thing with the Blue Rose? It seemed very pointed, and although it might be mis-direction, the blue winter rose was Lyanna Stark's symbol. Apart from that, I'm stuck.

I am impressed with oberyns casting, pretty much how i was imagining him. Love all of the martells in the books. Liking the whole episode tbh. Apart from jaimies hair Angry

Theon is reek and with the bastard of bolton (which is the book spoiler i was refering to in the other thread - in storm of swords he is assumed dead and not introduced as reek til feast for crows. But he was shown in s3 which annoyed me as. I hadnt read feast for crows at the time!)

GlaikitFizzog · 07/04/2014 13:12

Reek?

AryaOfHouseSnark · 07/04/2014 13:16

Checking in. Smile
I haven't sen it yet, but have heard it is a good one.

Can't wait for next weeks episode (kof)

BeyondIsBloodOfTheDragon · 07/04/2014 13:26

The bastard (ie ramsey snow) is the bloke who chopped off theons bits and bobs. He mentally broke theon and made him almost a personal slave /pet called reek. Hes not allowed to acknowledge that he is theon greyjoy, he is reek.

BeyondIsBloodOfTheDragon · 07/04/2014 13:29

Phew, i havent posted a spoiler! From synopsis of mhysa (s3 finale)

"Speaking of Ramsay, he has a pretty pivotal moment with Theon following his big reveal. The Bastard of Bolton continues to psychologically torture Theon by eating a sausage in front of him following Theon's castration. He then goes on to tell Theon he doesn't deserve a lord's name any longer, beating him until he takes on the identity "Reek" instead."

Logg1e · 07/04/2014 13:52

Reek, Reek, rhymes with Tedious.

GlaikitFizzog · 07/04/2014 13:54

Oh yeah, I do remember. Ishould have watched s3 again!
