Jeyne Westerling is explicitly not pregnant in the books though- don't they actually wait to find out if she is after the Red Wedding?

Report
AryaOfHouseSnark · 18/06/2014 12:05

Well there was a bit of a probably very crackpot theory that Jeyne could have been swopped, the Jeyne Jaime described was different to the Jeyne Cat described. something to do with the size of her hips I think.
Like I said it's all very crackpot, I think GRRMwas asked about it and he said that sometimes he slips up on continuity and other times it's deliberate but he didn't elaborate.

Although I think that one has been busted Here .
I do love lurking on that forum, I think it's really interesting reading through the different predictions and theories.

For me, when Talisa was killed at the Red Wedding, that was GRRM's way of saying NO, you are all wrong!

The show may be deviating from the books in unimportant ways, but the existence or otherwise of that baby is too significant. Boo!

Yes you're right, DAMN IT. Angry I was hoping that little Ned was doing nicely in the real Jeynes belly. Maybe it's for the best, if he tried to avenge his Father he would only die horribly.
Ok, another crackpot theory, Jaquen Haqaur is Syrio Ferell ? (I know I fucked up on the spelling there)
What do you think ?

Report
hildasmuriel · 18/06/2014 14:54

I think the Jaquen / Syrio has some mileage. Not sure what overall significance it would have to the overall story.

Hotpie for president would be an amazing storyline.

Report
AryaOfHouseSnark · 18/06/2014 15:20

I think Hotpie would make a fantastic president, maybe Arya could come back to advise him, and make sure he doesn't yield Wink

Report
QueenOfThorns · 18/06/2014 15:24

I think that Syrio is dead. The only reason people think he might not be is because he died 'off-stage', but it think he had to. After all, if Arya had still been there to see him die, she wouldn't have got away, would she?

Jaquen was one of the three prisoners given to the Nights Watch by Ned, so the timing is a bit wrong for Syrio to have been among them. I suppose someone (Varys) could have pulled a fast one, but I'm not really sure I see the point.

I love the theories! I never think of any for myself (except obvious ones like Robert Strong = Gregor Clegane), but I can spend hours reading the threads on westeros.org. I have just spotted one about the Sphinx, so I'm off to waste some time...

Pod would get my vote for president, sorry Hot Pie!

QueenOfThorns · 18/06/2014 15:43

No, what am I thinking! Dolorous Edd is the only man for the job!

Report
AryaOfHouseSnark · 18/06/2014 15:45

Will pop over myself later, are you a member there ?

I keep on thinking about joining, but they're so serious over there, I might stick to lurking.
I forgot about Gendry, I think I will give him my vote.

QueenOfThorns · 18/06/2014 16:20

No, I'm just a lurker as well, they make me feel like a bit of a lightweight. My usual method of reading books is to devour them as quickly as possible and I tend to skim over details, so I don't notice all the subtle things that are being hinted at Blush

I've just started reading again from the beginning of book 4, hopefully a bit more slowly this time!

Yes it was westeros.org and I am a member, I don't post often though.

I'd vote for Dolorous Edd for president.

Report
AryaOfHouseSnark · 19/06/2014 07:55

even Disney have crackpot theorists

Yes, Dolorous Edd would be a good president, Bronn would have to be Vice President. Hot pie minister of bread and pies ? Gendry minister of ...erm being topless ? Arya minister of security.

Report
hildasmuriel · 19/06/2014 08:37

Arya would definitely have a 'most wanted' list as head of security.

I propose Bran as Chief of GardensGardens, Trees and Recreational Spaces.

Report
hildasmuriel · 19/06/2014 08:38

Gardensgardens a technical term - obviously.

AryaOfHouseSnark · 19/06/2014 12:31

What about Stannis the Mannis, he does deserve to be in there somewhere. Maybe he can run the local red god church with Mel, he can be in charge of the garden parties and church fetes.

Report
hildasmuriel · 19/06/2014 17:58

Or Mel can be Minister for Energy. Burn a few folks when stocks are low.

AryaOfHouseSnark · 19/06/2014 19:13

Brilliant idea. I am liking the new Westeros.

AryaOfHouseSnark · 22/06/2014 22:51

What are we going to do tomorrow night ? How long till series 5 ?

Going completely off topic here, but, if you like eye candy Jon Snow then the film Pompeii is worth a watch. Wink

Report
Legionoffools · 24/06/2014 00:06

I watched that, and honestly it's better than jumping out of an aeroplane without a parachute.

Wow, that good?

Looks as though Jon Snurr and some of the other cast members met the actual Queen this morning. Can't really see Liz n Phil being GoT viewers, so she probably didn't know who they were!

Report
AryaOfHouseSnark · 24/06/2014 20:55

I saw a poster for this at a tube st.
Someone had written Jon Snow knew nothing on it, hopefully none of the unsullied noticed the huge spoiler.
I saw that on my fb newsfeed Queen, the spoil sports didn't sit on the iron throne.

The CGI towards the end is a bit OTT but Kit Harington looks GOOD.
