Can I join? Currently on maternity leave and have become addicted to WDU. I think the dad (Harry?) was being very unrealistic. Glad his wife has her head screwed on.

I am glad they stayed in the uk. The dad came across as a bully.

I thought he seemed really nice but very stressed and she didn't understand that! He was willing to change and accept her views.

I thought they were a classic WDU family in a way, assuming that moving to the other side of the world was their only way to change their lives. At least they discovered the things that they could do here that would improve things without the down side of being away from all the extended family.

A good outcome i thought although his comments right at the end showed he was still hoping she'd change her mind

I wonder how many of these people have "always wanted to live in Australia even though I've never been"? Is it just made up for the tv programme? Surely, if you've always dreamt of living somewhere you'd have visited before middle age? (I realise this family had already been on holiday to Oz but some of the others hadn't been anywhere near the Southern Hemisphere).

Yes, always important to expose the kids to the emotional blackmail portion of the trip...

I find the NZ ones a little bit more interesting - Oz is getting a bit boring.

I always wonder how couples plan to both work full time when they've got no family or friends nearby . Of course it's going to be hard.

I just don't understand what they've got out of this move at all.
