Interesting perspective on this mornings episode

OP posts:
susiedaisy · 12/02/2014 09:56

Oh gosh those kids don't want to go do they

Sparklingbrook · 12/02/2014 09:57

Those childrens' rooms don't look very decluttered.

susiedaisy · 12/02/2014 09:57

You mean badger the kids until they give in. That's mean IMO

MrsReiver · 12/02/2014 09:57

Scotland or the UK. Salmond will be gutted the wee boy can't vote in September.

Sparklingbrook · 12/02/2014 09:57

Chameleonise, and organically grow it. Hmm

susiedaisy · 12/02/2014 09:58

That's what I thought sparkling

MrsReiver · 12/02/2014 09:58

She wants to emigrate by stealth, go for 3 months then just end up staying.

Soul journey, soul link, soul place, vom.

WhereBeThatBlackbirdTo · 12/02/2014 09:59

I thought she said 'chameleonise' but decided I'd misheard.

They'd be better off moving to Glastonbury - much cheaper

susiedaisy · 12/02/2014 09:59

I feel a bit stabby now watching that they really irritated me Angry

feesh · 12/02/2014 10:00

I thought you couldn't emigrate by stealth in Oz? I thought you couldn't return on a work visa if you'd originally gone out on a tourist visa.

Or did I miss a vitally important detail about their immigration status?

Mumzy · 12/02/2014 10:00

Only switched on and my woo factor is already twitching. They're the type of English people who move to Scotland thinking its a better place to raise dcs and now its Oz. They really do need a reality check.

Lilliput · 12/02/2014 10:00

Same shit different place! That's how I feel about these programmes. Sometimes people have to improve and make changes to their current life rather than up sticks to the other side of the world in the hope things improve.
Scotland is beautiful country, you just have to be a bit hardy sometimes.

MrsReiver · 12/02/2014 10:02

Lee is on the wanted down under facebook page Wink

Sparklingbrook · 12/02/2014 10:02

You obviously don't have a 'soul place' Lilliput Grin

feesh · 12/02/2014 10:02

But Lilliput, she needs to connect with the flowers!

susiedaisy · 12/02/2014 10:02

I can't bear that passive aggressive sly persistent behaviour that works to break down other peoples wants and wishes! It's very selfish IMO

Lilliput · 12/02/2014 10:05

Maybe my soul place is in Scotland, sat on my sofa watching crappy telly on my day off!

BlueberryWoods · 12/02/2014 10:06

I completely understand why people want to move somewhere nice and warm. I find it hard to motivate myself to get outdoors when it's miserable and cold. But if you move to the northwest of Australia I imagine you'd have the opposite problem of being stuck indoors as it's too hot outside during the height of summer. Sydney was bad enough over Christmas/new year.

Sparklingbrook · 12/02/2014 10:07

YY Lilliput my soul place is on my sofa in Worcestershire eating poached eggs and watching crappy telly. Grin

What are you watching next?

Lilliput · 12/02/2014 10:10

Well the curling is on and because I have declared my love of Scotland and the team has two local girls in it I shall watch that but flick to homes under the hammer too. Wink

Sparklingbrook · 12/02/2014 10:14

Good plan Lilliput. Grin

immarebel · 12/02/2014 10:23

Lee and Lucy are actually really lovely people, very kind hearted and funny. Maybe they don't come across properly on tv. Lucy (as witnessed on the show) is quirky and a bit different, but, genuinely a nice woman. My apologies for barging into your thread.

invicta · 12/02/2014 10:33

Immare el - no apologies needed. Can you update us. As to what has happened? Have they had their three month adventure? Are they staying or going?

All reality tv programmes are edited to make Good TV - Lucy came across as an earthy hippy, and Lee abit more grounded.

invicta · 12/02/2014 10:33

And the children were lovely.

immarebel · 12/02/2014 10:45

Thank you. They haven't been back to Australia as yet, i am sure they will go, but, how permanent that will be i am not sure. Rosie started high school in August and the twins are due to go soon too, so their situation now isn't quite as flexible as homeschooling is.
